If Cullen is available for both genders, how do you think they should differentiate the romance between the two genders? I would like for them to have some gender-specific pronounce. As much as I love Kaidan, a lot of what he said was pretty gender neutral. Maybe some gender-specific scenes would be nice, but I think it may take up a lot of scarce resources they have at the moment.
It seems like Gaider hinted at bisexuality for most if not all of the romance in DA3. I like Cullen since the first game, so I do hope he's available for all genders. I like strong type of male characters like Alistair or Kaidan, so Cortez and Zevran do nothing to me. I was happy that Kaidan was available for both genders. I don't mind if the fangirls have someone that are straight like Alistair or Garrus in DA3, but it would suck if Cullen is restricted to one gender since I have been eyeing him since the original game. :innocent:MissRedZelda wrote...
Me personally, I think Cullen should be like Alistair and Garrus, and be a little present specifically for us ladies ;-) Not that I think having same sex relations is wrong (I don't, seriously), I just think having everyone bi, like DA2 did, is a cheap and half-assed way out of it. In Mass Effect 3, Trainer and Cortez were incredibly interesting characters, and I liked that fact that they were strictly gay and lesbian.
And I haven't read any complaints about Garrus being strictly for the ladies. I think it's cos his bro/sis-mance when not romanced is just as fun, sweet and touching as his romance. Ptobably why I'm such a Garrus fangirl ;-) Maybe the writing team should take a leaf out of ME3's books and do that for Cullen.

No worries, I don't think you make anything offensive at all. For me, I do think that girls are more on the emotional types while guys are more action-oriented, so maybe the lock-in moments could be different like the girls will have a scene with him on a date while the guys will have it on the battlefield. Now, I feel like I'm making some offensive stereotype also.meanieweenie wrote...

That's a good question. I don't know if I have a definitive answer. Would there be something other than a gender neutral comment he could make? In theory, don't guys and gals both kind of want to hear the same thing from an LI? They want to know their feelings are reciprocated, that they are appreciated. I guess the difference would be (a stereotype, I know) a girl may want to hear how you make them weak in the knees for reasons X, Y, Z and a guy may rather hear that you make them feel safe and secure. Forgive me if this comes off as offensive. I know sometimes what I'm trying to say doesn't come across exactly right.
That pretty much sums up the dilema. It sucks when the one you want isn't available. I was prevented from doing a F/F romance in DA:O because I couldn't stand Leliana and Morrigan only liked guys.Battlebloodmage wrote...

lol, that would sound awesome. Kaidan did say something similar if you don't import the game. He said like he wants someone handsome.LolaLei wrote...

Maybe he'd have some extra dialogue about how he'd never found a man attractive before until he met our protagonist etc.
Actually Alistair didn't, just saying.MissRedZelda wrote...
Sorry if I offended anyone. I just don't want the annoying rapid, yaoi fangirls getting their claws into Cullen and turning him into a shadow of his former self. Like they did with poor Fenris and Anders. I'm so glad Alistair escaped that.
Again, sorry if I offended anyone.

I have no problem with people wanting a character specifically for themselves. I wish Kaidan was strictly M/M.

If Cullen discovered he's actually just into men for DAIII, I'd totally have to try it. LOL!

I have to tell you how much I respect your honesty. And your willingness to see the other side. Bravo, bravo.
I totally wish there were gay and lesbian only options. I just feel like letting some of the characters be *maybe gay if you want them to* isn't really the same thing as inclusion.
And that's coming from a straight girl who only plays straight girls.
I feel exactly the same way! And consequently, I think Cassandra would make a fabulous lesbian. Actually, it would kind of explain her whole "Galyan, you're sweet. Uh.... later." type of attitude in DotS.Danny Boy 7 wrote...

I've said it quite a few times and I'll say it again I want romances for each orientation but only if they are able to properly appeal to those er groups? I mean I wouldn't mind having a romance denied me, I mean I really liked Traynor, but as John Shepard I was boned (hehe irony).
I mean if Cassandra (as an example) was this great character but was only an option for a female PC I would be like "grr...good for them* but if I really really needed to romance her I'd reroll. The only issue I have is that if we're going to go down my route we have to make each love interest equally important, not in story significance perse but they'de all have to be a companion and not just an NPC (like Steve or Traynor).
If they can't do that though I'm okay with all of the characters being bi or HEROsexual

I predict lots of reloads. Or trips to the Black Emporium.
.... tip: aim for "clean-cut" rather than "attractive"
I could scan mine in too, though I'd probably look more like a twelve year old boy in a man's body. Maybe with a beard....?Danny Boy 7 wrote...

I'd just have to scan my face into the game, might be bad for Cullen though being outshone by my dashing good looks B)
