I wonder what a romance with Cullen would actually be like in DA3? I can't imagine he'd be as open with it as Alistair was.

I think Cullen will be shy becaues that's part of his personality, but he's not as unsure of himself as Alistair was (Alistair was very young, too.)

I tend to think he'd be this gallant romance, sort of Prince Charming/Knight in Shining Armor to Alistair's Naive Boy/GuyNext Door

In a weird way (and I know they'd have a hard time implementing this in the game, but track with me for a second) I can see Cullen being must more comfortable expressing himself physically than verbally.

I don't really mean sex -- we all know he's not comfortable with that.

I mean, when he's trying to finally tell you that his feelings for you are romantic, I can easily imagine him putting his hand on your shoulder and meeting your eye. Then holding that eye contact until you know that there's something much more to it than just brotherly reassurance. And I can see him being more comfortable with letting that moment draw out until you gave your feelings away in some small way (either verbally or with body language - by leaning in, or running away, or clearing your throat, or saying his name) than he would be trying to give you *the speech* and tell you how great you are.

I think he'd let his eyes and lips do the talking. And then afterward, you wouldn't need to discuss the particulars. It'd be understood between the two of you that neither planned to ever be apart from the other if you could help it.

Dude, that's why I want to be able to play as an elf again! I think an elf guy would be sooo cute with Cullen. And they BETTER give us a Black Emporium again or I'm gonna scream. I dunno how many time I had to go and fix my Hawke's chipmunk cheeks and derpy eyes after arriving in Kirkwall...

Actually, I could totally see Cullen having cuddlez time with an elf, now that you bring it up!

.... thanks for that. I won't be able to stop thinking about it now!!  Posted Image

Just picture the elf trying to be tough and being all, I don't need your help! Don't patronize me just because I'm an elf! And Cullen being his sweet self, and just, CUDDLES ENSUE... damn okay I'm not as good at telling stories as you guys xD

Ever since my friends and I learned enough Tolkien elvish to be able to insult one another ("You smell like a human!") I can't get over the idea that humans are somehow stinkier and sweatier than elves and only the elves can smell it. It actually prevented me from romancing Zevran as a human.

.... is that weird?

I always thought Elves would smell like pine cones and morning dew... What?

You stereotypical BASTARD!

Ok fine, they smell like stale ****** and vinegar. Better?

Yes thank you.:innocent:

I found him to be pretty open when it came to the romance, a little nervous/awkward but he wasn't too backwards in coming forwards if you get my meaning.

I totally wish there were gay and lesbian only options. I just feel like letting some of the characters be *maybe gay if you want them to* isn't really the same thing as inclusionPosted Image

And that's coming from a straight girl who only plays straight girls.

Ah, thank you for expressing this in this way BYT!  I didn't really know how to say it, but I think this is how I feel about the herosexual romances. There are advantages to it if you're trying to appeal to the most possible players, but I couldn't decide if it was the structureof the DA2 story that failed to grab me. Personally, I like to play through the games multiple times, and if DA3 had some gay/lesbian/straight only romances that were specifically crafted that way, I'm sure I'd enjoy them much more, and I agree that that would feel truly inclusive (to me). Of course, it would be a phenomenal amout of work ... No problem for me to roll a male warden to romance Morrigan. No siree;) I'm fully prepared to enjoy the DA3 romances however they turn out, though I'm still hoping for that feeling of natural progression that we were talking about a few pages back.

Because one hopes that when someone asks that question, that perhaps there's a reasonable person behind who's actually asking rather than asking for a chance to ag on Cullen. I mean, why bother posing a question you've already decided you won't accept the answer to? Real answers aren't what they want. If they did, they'd at least listen and make some attempt at understanding. But they'd rather make us mad enough to get snippy and/or personal so they can get even nastier in return and stoop to insulting us directly. Should Cullen turn out to be a companion and they have to put up with him, it's going to be "our fault", donchaknow? ^_^

Yeah. I guess I just wish that topics could stay on point from the beggining at the very least.
