I want to make a call me maybe parody video. Does anyone in this thread feel comfortable enough to make a short video of themselves singing Call me Maybe? I thought it'd be fun to make one and send it to the devs.

Maybe if we all sang one line? That would be cute!!

Yeah. And sort of theme it Cullen-style. I mean, you guys have all seen the parodies. I think it'd be a lot of fun if we had enough people interested.  I mean we've all decloaked or whatever.

I'd be game if I could figure out what to do... sorta multimedia impaired...

I don't think Cullen is a mage hater like Fenris.
But I'm pretty sure he won't be pro freedom for mages.
I'm curious about what he thinks of the chantry , I can't help but think a lot of templars might feel betrayed by the Divine.

Problem with the chantry is wanting these man to be compassionate prison guard.
It's easy for the divine to ask for this , but those guys do all the dirty work.
Killing mages , make them tranquil , etc...while also giving up on their own lives (it seems few templars are married for example) + the lyrium addiction.
And it's not like the mages are grateful ( understandable) and the templars order isn't popular as it used to be (Cullen mentions people not really trusting templars anymore ).

The divine warning every circle that tranquility has a cure without involving the templars made a big mistake.
Because for years the chantry told the templars that it was more gentle than death.
And suddenly the divine with no warning backpedal .

I'm no pro templar , but they are the first dealing with the mage "problem " .If the chantry has been more involved with the circles ,making sure templars don't act like sadist in the first place , things might have been slightly better.

Or we could include all of the fandoms and make one big fangirl (and boy) type video.  Sort of an answer to all of the fangirl haters- showing them we don't care what they think and we're happy to "Embrace the Crazy" which has now become our little motto.

Agree, Reznore57, I think it will be very interesting to see what he thinks of the Chantry. He seems very devout to me. But will he think that Justinia V is following Andraste's intention... or not? I could potentially see him turning even more to his faith to try to make sense of what's happening with the Order, but what the means about following the organization... who knows.

That would be cool. I wonder if you could do a jib jab kinda thing, that doesn't need us to sing it, but uses the original song. But the characters lipsyncing are the all the maligned fangirl characters... Cullen, Alistair, Nate, Teagan, Anders, Sebastian, Fenris... could be kinda funny

I'm just kidding; it's part of the risk a fangirl takes when trolling the Cullen thread during working hours

Do you guys think Cullen will be as polarizing as Anders? I hope not. I think it worked for Anders and made him a fascinating individual (hate him or love him). But I have this feeling it would just end up making Cullen look like a blind bigot.

Gotta say, that's probably my biggest fear. I know that BioWare is really into controversy, but I'm NOT a fan of the drama. It poisons the forums. That, and I kind of like the idea of Cullen as a moderate, a person who can be a unifying force rather than a divisive one. Yeah, he's got his faith and his duties, and nobody is going to blame him for that, but he does seem to have a view of the bigger picture.

Kirkwall was kind of like setting off an explosion to halt the progress of a mine fire. Incredibly destructive, but in a sealed environment, it deprives the first fire of oxygen and extinguishes the blaze before it can spread. Unfortunately for Thedas, that explosion happened too close to an air shaft.

Something that kind of bothered me about DA2 is that you can't really play Hawke as pro-templar because Hawke is either a mage him/herself or else has Bethany as a little sister. So Hawke is either a self-hater or a bad big brother or sister lol

I hope we will have the chance to play the DA3 protagonist as someone who really is pro-templar (even if that's not my personal belief). Though to be honest, I always have more fun playing as the pro-mage freedom fighter who tries to convince his lover (Fenris) to join the fight.

Hm, I've found something interesting. The new Dragon Age 3: Inquisition twitter has the following in it's description/tag line:

"Rise to power... by any means necessary."

That certainly sounds like the description from that leaked survey. "By any means necessary" - like in the leaked translated description that mentions about going in fighting, manipulating people, pulling strings behind the scenes or sending spy's etc.

Er um that was the Dragon Age II tagline. That was the whole Hawke was a refugee turned Champion of Kirkwall thing, basically what you were doing throughout the game.

DA2's tagline was "Rise from Warrior to Legend" according to what's on my box.

I like this mine analogy.

Since David Gaider referred to him as "the voice of reason" I have a feeling that, even including future angst, he'll probably stck to being a moderate. He has strong convictions, and it would be interesting to see him react to chantry secrets, or the lyrium addiction question, but he always seems to try to see how things affect others. Probably because he feels it's his duty to protect them. A "greater good" kind of view, maybe.

LOL, I can't even tell you how many ways I love this!!!

Here's another piece of crazy - just because it would be hilarious to know that somewhere, David Gaider may be snorting milk out of his nose when he first happens to see it:

It's on the DA2 official web site, if you scroll down a bit and look at the right hand column next to news and updates.

I agree, friends. And I think at this point, being "moderate" is kind of the new "radical" -- everyone's scrambling for war (even just fans on the forums) and campaigning for peace and compromise is not going to be child's play. It's going to take one tough SoB to defy both sides, losing important allies in the process, and stand quite alone for what's right.

I need that. I need it because everyone else in Thedas is freaking nuts.
