Another thing that surprised me. Orsino and Meredith square off in the courtyard. He asks her, so what, we just fight. here. She says, no, you can go prepare yourself to die. The Order is still making its way across the harbor. So my question: why was most of the Order not at the Gallows?? I can only guess that they rushed to the city with the Chantry blew up. But freaking all of them...? Seemed a little odd. Anyone have a different interpretation/explanation?

My guess is because they patrol the city and the Gallows as we saw is somewhat separated from the main city. Which I'm wondering...was I the only idiot who didn't know that until the final mission when we're actually on the boat? I mean I always felt like it was just like in between Lowtown and Hightown.

LOL. You aren't the only one, I was confused when we were on the boat and when Meredith said they (templars) were crossing the harbor. I sat there thinking "wait, what?"

Bwahahaha
I couldn't stop watching even though I really wanted to. I kind of feel bad for them for being so...silly.
I don't shop there either. The only thing I have ever gotten there was a shirt and that's only because I found a gift card from there so I had to go and use it

lol, I thought the same thing during the final mission. "Was it like this the whole time?!" I always assumed I missed something in a codex entry or in the dialogue that indicated it.

It's just like I'm sure they mentioned it at least once. I'm sure they probably said, "The Gallows are hard to get away from since we're in the middle of the sea or something."

They were all at the Blooming Rose, of course! Where else would you find templars in Kirkwall?R2s Muse wrote...
So, I was replaying the pro-mage ending again... and the scene where the templars first break in to the Gallows and start killing mages is just so sad. And, all I could think the whole time was ... was Cullen doing that, too? The answer is probably yes...

Serious answer: With the templars as the defacto government in Kirkwall, supplementing/replacing the city guard, even, they have probably been forced to set up sub-stations throughout the city. That does seem to be what they were building in the Docks in the former Qunari compound, for example.
@Danny Boy 7: You know that worldmap exit in the Hightown Market? It seems to be the head of the stairs that lead down the cliff face on the world map. Anyway, if you stand there without immediately exiting the area, you can look out over the harbor and see the Gallows. Also, if you're in the Docks and go to the quays, you can also look out over the harbor and see the Gallows from a different angle. If you're in the Lowtown Foundry District and look over the wall, I think you can see parts of the rooftops. If you're in the Alienage, though, you can see Hightown, so geography is a bit sketchy.
It's amazing what you notice, after your 6th playthrough. For example, it seems as if each worldmap exit is linked to a specific district entrance. For example, if you travel from Darktown to Lowtown, you always enter the area by the stairs behind where Samson stands. If you travel from the Docks to Hightown, you always enter by the Blooming Rose, but if you enter from Lowtown, you find yourself in the Market. For roleplaying purposes, I try to use the right exit. For example, if I'm in Hightown and want to go to Darktown, I always take the stairs by the Chantry, not the ones in the Market or by the Blooming Rose.

I didn't notice until the end either. Even though Sandal says "That big tower in the lake is scary", followed by Bodahn explaining to him that it's the Gallows. :-S
I was always wondering, "What big tower in the lake?" haha

lol, wow. I'm feeling really dumb now.
Edit: Now I'm kinda wishing they had awkward ferry ride conversations like the elevators in ME1.

I've never played ME, but I have wished many times for in-transit banters between areas. I guess it's a courtesy, though. As heretical as it sounds, some people would rather ignore the banters entirely. I know that they annoyed my sister enough to make her turn the volume off until I played a few choice ones for her. Then she realized that they were actually funny and started *listening* to them. Now she quite likes them.charlottecorday wrote...

It tickles me that the game is playable it seems(:
It's probably just the bare bones of the game though, everything still in beta and rough looking.
