Do you think Cullen might like a pet? Not a Mabari or a cat or something, but maybe a tea cup dragonling or idk an armored nug. I can see him getting THE sword of mercy, but that's only if Cassandra doesn't get like a dragonbone Pentaghast family sword or something. I also sort of think that she'll be a two-hander because when you see the group of Seekers at the end of DA2 they all seem to have asala like swords.

she was duel wielding in DotS. That would be sweet.

Pet...? Hmm... I can't help but think of the scared of horses thing. So dunno I'm thinking not an animal guy.

Yeah I mean sure, but she only really used two swords twice? In the beggining battle and then for a little bit during the battle with the Ogres and Golems the rest saw her with just the one which is why I said that, also I'm assuming that we aren't going back to the original weapons for everyone at least until I hear otherwise.

Noooo! I'm duel weilding. I'm the rogue. I'm the awesome sauce! lol I don't know why but I have such a hard time playing anything else. I will play through all the other classes but I always come back to duel weilding rogue. Cass can play whatever else she likes. Gimme my knives.

Stick her with your hand-me-downs. Show her that there can be only one.

I know what you mean, though. I have played every build through to the end, with the exception of archer!rogue, but the only one I really enjoy is DPS mage. That being the case, I wouldn't mind a bit if Cassandra was the dual wielder. Somebody has to use those daggers. Well, I guess there's Cole, but I'm not sure it's a good idea to give him anything pointy. Staves in my party are always at a premium, though, since I don't mind running with 3 mages and a dual-wielding rogue. Might have to give up one of those mage slots for Cullen, though.

My favorite in Origins was sword and board and in 2 it's been a tie between Mage and dual wielding rogue, I can get over the animations because it's just SO much fun darting around the battle field. If Cole shows up I hope to give him roses as weapons...because I don't want to wake up in camp and be like, "Er hi Cole."

"Look into my eyes..."

Yeah that...would be bad.

Also is it bad that the only people I have rivaled are elves? I mean before I could kind of get away with it since Merrill was my friend but now...Also how does Merrill react to gifts? I mean Fenris let me teach him how to read but didn't take the sword will Merrill reject everything?

Hmm I read the wiki on Cole and he doesn't seem as scary as people say he is. Maybe DG writes him as a more creepy guy. But he seems like he was doing what he thought was right. So I don't think he would just up and kill the PC like that, unless the PC were pro-templar....

Actually, since I have an affinity for cute boy characters like that I kinda wanna romance him now lol

I don't think I'd be able to romance him, he's like a young child clinging onto his mother. Poor thing.

Merrill accepts the gifts. There is just diffferent dialogue, I think.

I've said it before and I'll keep on saying it - romancing Cole would be like romancing a combination of Sandal and the Archdemon - LOL.  Posted Image

** and he'd definitely kill the protagonist if he/she didn't have plot armor. He kills when he feels the impulse, not necessarily when he thinks it's a good idea. It's like OCD accidental blood magic. Posted Image

LOL, maybe I should!
I reread Asunder for like the third time recently, and every time I read it I'm more and more convinced that Cole's situation is anything but happy and fluffy. This is old and not really complete since my new read-through, and you may have seen it already, but whatever in case someone wants to know more. Posted Image

http://social.biowar.../index/13704832

The book talks about him being swallowed up by a dark, overpowering evil that comes from inside every time he kills, and how the murder stabilizes him and keeps him connected to our world. Or at least that's the way he interprets it. So yeah, scary stuff!

Okay, I never thought of the whole protective meaning behind the shield and what not, so totally liking that now! And go me for getting what he had in the two games the wrong way around.

The rumoured qunari dude will probably be the big two handed sword guy anyway, if he makes it into the game.

/latelate

As for pets? That boy better like animals or he'll drop off my radar, because all my characters tend to be animal people. My Warden and Hawke were very Ferelden and loved their dogs. XD;

...My Hawke also missed the Ferelden dirt.

Ha! I read PELTS which is totally different and would require input from Brushyourteeth and Lola.

LOL yeah, brush, you probably should update the wiki if it makes him sound sweet and harmless. This is a pretty good description. I found him Creepy. capital C.

At the risk of being contrary, David Gaider has asserted many times that we don't really know what Cole is. This does not rule out the possibility that Cole is a demon. It just means that we have not seen conclusive proof one way or another.

Lambert is mistaken. The Litany of Adrala is not specific to abominations. It does seem to be specific to blood magic, based on the experience of our Wardens, and in preventing possession from occurring in the first place, but Wynne stands there in perfect health while the spell is cast, unaffected the whole time. Yes, yes, demons and spirits. They behave different once in the body, and there does seem to be that whole "meat bag" element, but the actual act of possession seems similar.

Cole is not a nice person, if he actually is a person. Loghain was not a nice person, either, yet he was an interesting character and the one time I recruited him into the party, he seemed worthwhile enough as a companion.

Naturally, if you want to go on thinking he's a demon, I'm not going to say you're wrong because we just don't know one way or another, but I've got a feeling that he's something else. Something we haven't seen before, and possibly something that might be fun to find out more about.

It goes without saying that I don't find the idea of a romance with the guy attractive. It is possible to become acquainted with companions without cooking them breakfast. Heck, he doesn't even have to be a companion. I just want to find out what he is... which means that we will never learn. Tears taste like candy, apparently.

I thought the Litany of Adralla was specific to mind control, which ostensibly could apply to the weird disappearing thing Cole was doing. But, that part of the book definitely was confusing, since so often the game convolves the notion of blood magic, mind control and demons.

Regarding Cole, no, I don't think we know what he is... but if the wiki doesn't connote his creepy murdering tendencies or childlike instability, then I think it's incorrect. That's my two cents.

Moreover, we have no idea what Cole is like *after* he figures out what he is... he seemed a bit more, erm, confident in his final scene with Lambert. That could be an interesting character to meet.

Yes, that's the phrasing I was looking for. It's like "Yes, I know you just woke up, but you have used words before. This is not an unfamiliar concept." I wonder if Cole's natural condition is invisible and he uses mind control to enable his subjects to see him.

But yeah, the wiki should probably mention something about his established behavior and perceived mental state. Behind spoiler tags, of course.

And I was intrigued by his apparent change tone in the epilogue. I need to re-read it. I don't remember if he killed Lambert or not. I kinda doubt it, since it doesn't make any sense to go into a long discourse with someone and then kill them, but the sequence does happen in most media. The villain's exposition is ridiculous, but it always seems to be there.

In my ultimate Cole fantasy.... he inhabits Lambert and mayhem ensues. What's one more tornado in an already massive storm? lol

Edit: Cole is like a *maybe evil* Tom Bombadil to me.

Yeah, sorry, Diregegun, I think most of Cullenites have read it at this point... so we get kinda spoilery.

Personally, I think Lambert is dead, dead, deadsky. Re-reading it, Cole's final exposition is longer than I recalled... but I think necessary for storytelling. I like how he says, "I'm not helpless any longer." I dunno...

"What do you want from me?"
The young man smiled coldly.
"I want you to look into my eyes."

Fade to black... dun dun dun!!!  Nicely done, DG. If he possessed him...  how cool would that be?  An interesting twist on the villain. I still vote for dead, tho.

Good point, I mean, who knows what happened after the book ended. Maybe Lambert was able to save himself, maybe Cole killed him... Or maybe even possessed him, if he is some sort of demony thing.

My brain is supplying all kinds of wild and ridiculous ideas. If Cole *is* a demon or spirit of some kind and if the did possess Lambert, let it be a merger like Justice and Anders, and let Lambert be recruitable. A possessed templar with a violent, incompatible Fade entity living inside him. How ironic would that be? "But it's totally different this time, Anders-haters! The possessed person is a templar, so we're cool, right? *trollface*"

Kidding aside, if Cole is a companion, I wonder how he and Cullen would get on. I know we've talked about it before, so there's no need to get into it again unless boredom demands it, but I'm still curious. Obviously, Cullen would be unhappy with the arrangement, but I'm curious about how he would express his displeasure. I enjoyed the constant bickering between Fenris and Anders, but I know a lot of people got tired of it.
