R2s Muse fully supports this as well... we need a big fur showing for Page 1000.brushyourteeth wrote...
Okay, I missed the fun!!
1.) I fully support an homage to fur. Let's make it happen, people!
I'm also sad that I missed page 923 - 9/23 is my birthday so I was going to be a big diva about it.

Yeah, I remember reading that on the wiki. It's sad how his best friend fell victim to the base desires of power and the paranoia that one in such a position would feel towards keeping it.
Lambert's got good reasons for being who he is, even if he may go too far in his duties. Cullen seems like he'll be a better version of Lambert. He's seen the flaws of both sides and he'll probably try to balance it all out so that the Templars can do their duty, but the Mages aren't persecuted and oppressed.

I would love to see the Order ultimately look to Cullen to rebuild after the split with the Chantry and once the dust has settled during DA3. I think we talked at some point about the notion that that could be interesting twist on a Cullen romance, that he needs to leave the PC because duty calls and he has to go lead the whole new Order.

Lambert's a class A douche, and if he's gone then I say good riddance.
As somebody who sees potential in the Chantry, I'm pretty eager to get the bad eggs out and see better days ahead. Though with our shades of gray, that may just never happen. But Cullen is a "voice of reason" (Word of God says so), so balance and duty seem like words that sum him up pretty perfectly, actually. He'll never be as radically pro-mage as many fans would like - but then neither is Justinia, who basically shame-fingered the Chantry and every noble in Orlais for their attitudes toward mages.
As someone who's a fan of his, it is neat to see the uber mage fans say things like "Well, Cullen... I guess I don't hate him." even if it's shortly followed by "but he'll have to do a lot better to impress me.", which is totally fair. I hope he gets that chance. It kinda shows me that, were mages v. templars a real-life conflict, there'd at least be some give from the other side as far as realizing that those with opposing views aren't necessarily the bad guy, and with some good communication, forgiveness, and good ol' fashioned mutual respect, a lot can get accomplished for The Big Good.
I think I just realized that the reason I love Cullen might be because I feel like he represents where my mental head space is a lot of the time. There is good. There is evil. There are people, who are precious and deserving of every right and happiness that can be given to them. But how do you reconcile all those things into a probable solution when the world we live in is so flawed and broken? I think that's basically Cullen's journey.

Ha I had the oddest thought. (This would be after we have all played DA3) We could all dress up as the protagonist (our own protagonist) and then Danny would be dressed as Cullen. We'd all go to a convention and role play, woohoo. Lol. Stupid dishes.
Shades, this sounds uber kinky.

It's just that if we all RP'd as our protagonists, and all our protagonists romanced Cullen...
.... I should go.

Well, lore-wise that wouldn't really be necessary, as Templars can get married provided the spouse has their own life (Aveline and Wesley).
But character wise it would indeed be interesting if he made that personal sacrifice, not because he was required to but because he felt there was something more pressing then love that needed his attention. That although he would be allowed to marry the PC, feels that his duty as a Templar sort of takes precedence.

@TEWR, I know a lot of fans hope we'll get the chance to have a wedding, but I haven't seen most of our protagonists as really being the marrying type.
I think most of my playthroughs of DAIII will involve a protag that would realize it's that kind of devotion that made her love Cullen in the first place, and that she couldn't respect him if she'd changed him. She'd tap his little behind and say "atta boy", then cry on Bodahn's shoulder for hours once Cullen was safely out of sight.

Yeah, technically, he could get married if the circumstances allowed. The PC will potentially be such a badass by the end that she should fit all the self-sufficiency requirements. But, honestly, I have a hard time seeing normal marriage being compatible with a templar in a leadership position. It does seem like the job would be all consuming. The Ethereal Writer Redux wrote...

Plus, I agree, I see Cullen being all about the personal sacrifice. In fact, I've been imagining that that would be an interesting "questioning beliefs"-style quest for him, that it would be a challenge to convince him that it's OK to get close to someone and care about the individual instead of the greater good. Even if caring for that individual also makes you vulnerable.
So, the hopeless romantic in me would want them to write it in a way for them to still make it work in the end. The realist in me would imagine Cullen being the one to throw up lots of roadblocks to the idea. "I would be married to my job. I couldn't do that to you." "You're a wanted woman. It's not safe for you to be in Val Royeaux." I could find a way to write it tragically, particularly if he never learned his "questioning beliefs" lesson, but I could also see my PC just having to knock down those road blocks one at a time.
