Any one else worried about their Warden showing up? Also, my Warden was supposed to be me, as will my new protagonist if Cullen is a LI (I like to shag the pretty ones myself), soooo if we have to redesign the Wardens face, I will end up with two indential looking characters LOL!

Yes, this also makes me curious. More that it was SO bad that they actually deleted it. But, I'm sorta glad that they're stepping up the moderation. Just closing a really offensive thread doesn't exactly remove the offensiveness, now does it?

So I've been catching up on Twitter with everything and Mike Laidlaw said the non-playable backgrounds that we pick will be quite detailed, which sounds like it'll be more than just what we had to pick for Shepard in Mass Effect. Presumably that'll be where we decide things like whether or not we're a blood Mage/our main specialisation.

Good point. Particularly since he said "largely for story reasons, but also customization." Hopefully that does mean things like blood mage: yes/no, and then folks might respond appropriately.

I think, if it changes the way people treat you in a big way, then it'll probably mean that the companions will initially treat you differently to. For example: Cullen will refuse to romance a blood Mage but will perhaps warm to and eventually romance a healer, if you're a warrior or rogue then he'd be more option to the romance sooner.

I would hope so. It would be really disappointing if your background only mattered sometimes. Sorta like... in all of DA2. LOL

I'm hoping if the Warden and Hawke are to reappear in DA3, then we'll be able to tweak how they look, I can't imagine either will import over too well lol. Having them wearing helmets would just be a cop out.

Yeah, I honestly cannot imagine how that's going to work. Seems a little silly for me to agonize over the chargen of a character who will have a two second cameo. Perhaps they can steal the morph from your savegame file? How did they did do it in ME? Could you import your shep's face and then tweak? Perhaps then, you could still import your save file, to get the face, but have a routine that goes through the import flags and says, "Choice A: This is your import. Keep or choose from X,Y or Z?"

If they do have a voiced warden, I hope they make some kind of sly joke, like, "what a beautiful voice you have!" "thanks; I've been taking voice lessons." or something more clever...

I really hope the backgrounds effect which LI will romance you. I think it would be cool to be rejected because someone doesn't like what you do/did.

You'd import Shepard over and then they'd let you tweak his/her appearance if it didn't transfer over how you wanted it to. If that happens then I'll be in the CC for 3 hours!

So, apparently we'll get to customise the companions more than we could in DA:O. I wonder if that would extend to facial hair? Cos if Cullen is a companion/LI with a horrible beard then I'm gonna hack it back to his stylish stubble.

LOL Exactly! Doesn't seem... like a prudent use of our resources... but then, I suppose then it's up to us how much we want to care about that sort of thing. Just importing it probably does take as many resources on the dev side. *sigh* Who knows.

I'm still mixed about seeing a return of my warden(s). I was never really very attached to any of them, so I don't think I really care about seeing them, one way or another. I suppose most live Wardens ended up the Warden Commander, so that's easy, and then they can just add a line or two about who you romanced. But what if you went through the mirror? Do you just not show up, like presumably the ultimate sacrifice wardens? Or did you come back to tell the tale of where you went?? Almost makes me want to finally finish my damn Morrigan romance PT.

Boy... just realized something. AMELL WARDEN IMPORT + CULLEN COMPANION = STORY GOLD!!!! 

OK changed my mind... F**k Yeah, Warden cameo!!  Now all I need is an Amell import... grumble...

Holy sh!t, I forgot about that! That's gonna be sooo awkward! But, it would give Cullen the closure he never had in DA:O... So long as he doesn't start stuttering at her and being obviously not over her. Man, this is gonna be surreal, both my Warden Amell and the new protagonist will be (hopefully) carbon copies of me, yet I'll be offended if Cullen starts swooning at the Amell Warden me, instead of the new protagonist me.

... Mind. Blown.

@Lola - I have to admit, I'm expecting the full armour, or mage with hood or whatever for a warden appearance. That or a very long distance shot. Unless they decide to let you recreate your warden and Hawke's appearances in the CC? Seems like a bit too much for a cameo

I'd hope that Hawke would refer to the Amell Warden as "Cousin" and visa versa. Hm, I wonder if the female Amell Warden would ask how Cullen is, since Hawke was friendly with him?

That would be very sweet. Like, he knows that she doesn't hate him and they're both pleased that the other is safe and that's that, kinda thing.

The thing is, what if your Warden was rude to Cullen/wouldn't particularly give a toss? How would that translate over, without us being able to control it?

I'd presume that we won't get to talk to the Warden and instead just catch a glimpse of her, perhaps ordering the Grey Warden's into battle with the LI near by, or standing beside Alistair/Anora if you made them both King and Queen etc. I think Hawke will have a talking role though, since it would be easier.

I dunno, Mike Laidlaw said we'd only see the Warden if we played Origins, but I would presume that would also come into play if you killed him/her.

@Lola: thats a good point. Hmph, I don't even care about Hawke that much lol. But I suppose people would rage if the warden got a voice, they would all complain about how they imagined her tone differently and stuff. Bleh.

I have to admit, sometimes when my warden would say things in battle I'd get all confused and not know who was talking. lol

I can't imagine the cameos being very large or important since new players, or players from DA2 onward just wouldn't appreciate it. Some acknowledgement is always nice though.
