Oh gosh, MMG, I'm sorry if what I said hurt your feelings. That was most certainly not my intent! What I actually had intended, and apparently failed, to convey was that it seems there were some purely practical reasons for the choice... But that that is easy to say (that it's practical and logical) when I personally didn't care about race choice. The invisible additional sentence should have read: "but if it was a particular concern of mine, that would still suck."

Oh yeah, this has been discussed here many times lol Unfortunately, it's unknown if that survey is a true leak or a false lead (not affiliated with DA3, distributed by a troll). So it's still 100% uncertain if Cullen will be a companion and LI in DA3.

You're not a wimp. I'd cry buckets if they took away my rogue option. That's kind of what I imagine you're feeling right about now. Silver lining: maybe the story will make up for it. Maybe they're putting off multi race selection for DA 4 because they want to redesign a bit, seeing as how so many took issue with how drastic the elves appearances changed.

ah you're not; you were honest! It's tough being the, er, odd opinion out when threads, even ours, succumb to group think from time to time. I appreciate you sticking to your guns... Esp when it gives me a chance to apologize.

LOL indeed, àlmost TOO many times. But I think the more compelling evidence that Cullen will show up in some capacity is Cullen's voice actor's now-deleted tweet that he was recording Cullen, if you haven't seen it MoMan313.

So, I was thinking. Now that we've got additional information, do you guys feel like the survey leak could be real? Or do you feel like it feels more like a fake?

I'm still in two minds. The fact that they've cut out a playable prologue in favor of us picking our background, makes me wonder if we'll be jumping into the action straight away, like how the survey leak suggested that we'd have to control our forces "right from the start". Then again, DG said that the 10 companion thing is bullsh!t, so maybe it is fake after all?

Me too, or that he got it wrong and he wasn't recording for Cullen after all. Although, I can't see how he would have got that confused after already being told who he was doing dialogue for. 

The thing that makes me think that he might not be a full companion, is that GE seems to be really busy filming Touch season 2 and doing other VO stuff for kids shows etc.

Yes!! Even though... I kind of suspected it would happen  Just because people speculated so much on the BSN that we would no longer have race options. Plus there is the name of the first game, "Origins," which suggests that this concept of "origins" is unique to that particular game. Still, I had hope. But it's okay, it's okay. Sadly enough BW does not tailor their games to suit me lol I'm sure I will still greatly enjoy DA3 xD

Personally, I feel like someone got thier mitts on some actual true info and fashioned thier own survery around it. So some of it may turn out to be real and some may turn out to be BS. Didn't DG or someone already sort of allude to that as well? I may be hallucinating that part.

I think it is either falsely distributed by someone from within BW or it's actually true. Because the title "Inquisition" was actually listed as a possible title.

It's also possible that Cullen's face was just a "placeholder" for that particular outfit or for a templar-like character.... but I do feel confident for some reason that he will be a companion 8D

:shudder: boy I hope not.  If he's not to be in it at all... I think I'm more inclined to think it was a screw up (like Lola suggested) than any deliberate decision to suddenly yank him because of a tweet gone astray.

My thought on the survey is either meanie's (some true info, false survey) or that it was an old survey sussing out ideas that didn't all make it into the game. I mean, of the info that's been confirmed and denied, the leak is now at 1 and 1 (name right, ten companions wrong). So I still don't think it's 100% real/correct, since it has been wrong at least once so far. Therefore, I reserve judgment on all else.

egad, Î can't believe they're at it again. Honestly, if they announced it during a panel, that's a done decision, even if kicking and screaming would help. Ah, BSN and our disfunctional  relationship with our devs.

I guess it could've been a lucky guess? I mean, we pretty much knew that the world was going to sh!t thanks to Cassandra and Varric mentioning it at the end of DA2. The Inquisition has been named dropped enough in the game and accompanying walkthrough manual, as were the Seekers through various channels, for people to safely assume that they will be playing a part in DA3. The mage/templar war is a given, since it was a big deal in both DA2 and Asunder, aaaaand it's not unreasonable to presume that Cullen would be a companion/LI since he's appeared in both games, has a dedicated following and would fit into DA3 well given his personal growth in DA2 and plot armor keeping him from being killed. Making a convincing fake survey leak out of all that isn't hard.

The parts of the survey that always struck me as odd/fishy was Cullen's photoshopped head onto his "new" "companion outfit", the fact that Cole was listed as a possible companion (anyone who has read Asunder, can see that it would be a difficult choice to implement etc), the 10 companion thing because (i personally feel) that it would be a waste of resources, some of the names like "Iron Bull" etc and the fact that the German version of the survey describes things quite differently to the English version.

I think the survey was just that a survey to see how people would react to certain features in the game. I think maybe someone patched together what they saw into a relatively cohesive mesh and tried to speculate as to what it all meant.

But I'm sure certain parts are fake though certain things seem to make even more sense with the concept art and info we got yesterday.

Lola that's also a good point. Now that I think about it, you're right, the leak's one "win" so far was the one solid hint we'd been given... That the next game could feature some kind of inquisition, as per the strat guide epilogue. The rest any of us could have come up with... And sometimes we have! LOL

That could be my new theory on the leak... Even stopped clocks are right twice a day...
