lol

If I were to color cullen, what colors would you describe his hair, beard, and eyebrows to be? I'm looking through my color pencils--I have prismacolor and crayola, and I can't tell which would match them because of how the picture is appearing on my screen and the lighting in the picture.  Nm.  I just realized that coloring his skin alone is going to probably take a few different colors from the different shading.

For his hair, use a mix of oranges, browns and yellows

Eyes browns and oranges

So excited to see your work! Working on a little "hair" induced drabble, myself.

So... just in case, it seems we're on for "Hair" prompt for Page 100? So, art, photo manip, drabbles, scenes, fics, jokes, erm, you name it! Inspired by "hair" meaning Cullen's awesome hair or anyone else's. Go crazy and we'll start to post on P 100.

Inspiration: A shot of, um, his hair. :)

Looks like I wasted all day today and the last few hours of last night. Regardless how much better it looks now, it still looks the same as all of the human characters I have drawn in the past--same boring dull eyes. Poo... 2d and unrecognizable...

Aw looking at that picture of Cullen kissing Hawke makes me want him as a love interest in DA3 even more!

My inspiration for the 100th Page fic was hair. A drunk Hawke asks to touch Cullen's curls and he allows it because he was tipsy too. But the fic that came out was far more serious and thus far, no hair touching. No tipsy Cullen either. I just couldn't help sticking to "realism". *sigh* Now Cullen's never gonna find out Hawke has always wanted to touch his hair unless Varric tattles on her during the Hanged Man scene I'm about to write..

Ah, Dunquixote,, I'm so sad to hear about your art. Perhaps that particular one was not meant to be. But makes time for something new, though!

@Samara, heh heh, I'd say just take inspiration where it comes. The hair touching could always be written up separately as a standalone drabble. Of course I'm not saying that because I want to read tipsy Cullen... nope... Definitely not... :))

Chapter Eight is up now.   I think I'm working on the last chapter for this story.

Thanks, R2. -hugs-
I really liked what I had planned for it too.  However, a friend of mine had brought up a good point that I had thought of months ago, but in the end forgot.  She told me I should worry how perfect it looks (even though I am a perfectionist) and just enjoying drawing it.  I remember now especially after looking at people's artwork last night of the same characters for multiple different games or anime, that everyone has their own different styles.  My preference has always been making the character look as close as possible to what picture I'm looking at.  Maybe that's what my mistake has been... However, I just don't like a lot of pictures where the character doesn't look like what they did in the anime or manga or game.

Oh, btw everyone, I'm starting to post some things on my deviantart in case anyone is interested.  My name is the same and feel free to friend me.

http://dunquixote.deviantart.com/

Once I finish writing my first story, I'll post it on deviantart, if anyone rather read it there instead of fanfic.net.

That sucks. :(  Is there nothing you can do to fix it? Maybe darken all the lines and trace the image on a fresh sheet of paper? It's a pain but I did that for a drawing when I screwed up the color on it. I hope it's salvageable.

I hate stubborn body parts. The naughty stuff seems to come easier than most rather innocuous bits! lol! It's hard for me to say what Cullen's eyes should look like. I think they're probably generic eyes. Even the color seems to be a matter of interpretation: Green? Or Brown? Hazel? *sigh* Perhaps the eyes you have done look strange because you haven't colored his circles? It just ain't Cullen unless he looks ready to die of exhaustion. Ha! :o

Oh. That works too. I'm sorry it's being obstinate. You could draw another. Practice makes perfect, they say. :) Would you mind sharing it anyway? Despite it not being what you think it should be? Maybe you're being too hard on yourself. It's easy for we artists to do that.

Edit: I apologize if I'm putting you off. I was just trying to help. :)
Also, It's pretty dead in here. Wonder what happened? Is everyone off making stuff for page 100?

Don't be sorry! It's really so sweet of you. I'm glad I've made some great online friends--including you, from the last few weeks. You all have been inspiring me to write again, which has greatly cheered me up from my depression (bi-polar). I'll scan it tomorrow before I start studying (last minute) for my finals x_X.

I now realize the benefits of actually "risking" your work being stolen by posting it---or at least by asking questions--constructive criticism helps me get better at something. That's why I think I'm going to post my fan fic on deviant art too, since I've only gotten comments from you, r2, and orchid. :]

Speaking of which, I'm on my epilogue now. :D

Oh, do you happen to remember word-for-word what Cullen said about what being a templar should mean at the end of DA II?  I don't remember, and I'm trying to find it through youtube.

I just wanted to be clear that I'm not trying to convince you to do something you don't want to, that's all. I don't want you to think I'm pushy but rather more encouraging. I'm glad to have met you and I hate losing new friends because I didn't express myself right (it's happened).

It's heart warming to know that we've all helped and inspired you. :D I'm not trying to diminish what you're going through when I say that I think we all can relate. We've all been there. If you're up for it, I'm more than happy to add whatever pointers I can to help, though I'm no expert. Maybe some of the others here can offer advice too. If it makes you feel better, I can upload my Cullen art I've been working on lately. I'm struggling with the angle of my subjects and making everything the right proportions at the right angles. Dynamic anatomy sucks and it's even worse when it's under layers of cloth and plates. :? I do a looooot of erasing.

I have yet to read your fic. Not because I don't want to but I've been so busy preparing for a move that I just don't have time unless I halt writing on my own stuff. But as soon as something is done and out of my way, I'll check it out. :D

Edit: I can't recall. Do you mean when Meredith talks to him about saving the mages? Or after that? Because I never got the end where Hawke became Viscount. As a warrior, I sided with the mages and fled. As a rogue, I sided with the Templars but had accepted Isabela's offer to sail away with Fenris in tow. I have yet to reach the end as a mage but I feel too much like a hypocrite to side with the Templars, being a mage myself.

I can tell your intentions were well and I do appreciate it :]

I have no clue. I don't know if I ever seen that scene. I've only gotten the mage ending. I've played the game almost three times, the second I had to restart because Isabella bailed on me and I didn't bring fenris with me when I had to confront the arishok.

Edit: (To Meredith, on taking responsibility for surrendering mages) "Yes. I believe that’s what being a Templar is about."

I found it on dragonage.wikia.  I didn't think it was that short. =/ ah well  I finished my epilogue without needing it anyways.

I do believe he says something longer about protecting the people from dark magic but also protecting mages from the people and themselves. I just can't recall how it goes.

I always earn the Ar5ishok's respect. I did it on accident the first time but I thought it was so cool, I just couldn't bring myself to not do it so I get the duel with just him every time without Fenris' help. And Isabela came back for all of my playthroughs.

Congratulations on your epilogue! :wizard:

Thanks! This is my first story ever that I have finished minus the one I did in high school and the smaller ones in middle school and elementary. =) (meaning, this was the only story that wasn't assigned as homework that I finished). And who knows, in spite what I post, I might have more ideas to add or replace some I have now. :)

Seems you don't need it any longer, but FWIW, it is much longer than that. The only part I seem to have written down, though is this, since it was in my fic:

“And if they hope to escape by playing innocent?” Meredith sneered. “Will you accept that responsibility, Cullen?”

“Yes,” he countered, feeling the weight of that responsibility keenly. “I believe that’s what being a Templar is about.”

“And I say we are here to protect the people. We must be judges, jailers and even executioners.”

OH -- heh, just remembered, there is a vid of it HERE.

EDIT for fun:

Oh dear, just ran into an unkind but funny one about the obliviousness of templars in DA2. Here.

Yeah, I was wondering where folks are, too -- perhaps holding off on page 100 so we have more time? LOL My bet is that we haven't had LolaLei to prompt us with questions!

So... here's a sorta question, building off of a previous one. If Cullen were a companion in DA2, which companions do you think he'd get along with and which not? What would their banters be like?
