If that's not your stance, or why you
want the romance, then great. You've nothing to worry about, so long as
you think about what you're saying. That is what I see in a number of
these requests, however... so to that I'll simply say that if you're
expectation is that we developers should be thrilled to become your
virtual pimps, that's simply not the case. The fixation on romance
displayed in these forums is borderline distasteful as it is, and
certainly not limited to requests for female qunari-- I'd rather not
encourage such requests if people actually believe they'll have results
that aren't the opposite of what they intend.
Insult aside, I wonder if this gives us a clue as to whether he authorized Cullen as LI or if I'm reading into the whole "the more they push, the less I give in".
Maybe I'm just too tired.
I may be biased... okay I am biased,

but I think we've been pretty good about not making demands. Other than keeping to this thread, we haven't really gone out of our way to "demand" Cullen. Yes, when a thread pops up asking what we want in a romance or who we would like to see as a companion and in the story, we have mentioned Cullen on all those fronts because we think his story could be really interesting and a potential romance could be really amazing. We kept our public display of Cullen appreciation to the times the devs have asked for the fans' input.
So while we have made our support of Cullen known, I don't think we've been as annoying as all that. We haven't started any demand threads and we haven't gone raging "If Cullen's not an LI, I won't buy the game!" We haven't been insulting someone else's preferences of other characters or all gone demonic about defending Cullen to the naysayers. When they ask why we want him, we tell them. When they generalize us and say we just want him for his looks, we've been quick to refute that because it's not fair for anyone to generalize us - or anyone else for that matter - and dismiss our points about Cullen's potential impact on the story just to be able to say the crap they do. That would be them trying to make us look pathetic and that goes against DG's usual attitude about fair and free self expression here.
If he's that annoyed about fans' appreciation of romances, I can only think it's because of the sheer quantity of demands along this vein and the flame wars that have cropped up as a result. There have been a lot of threads that have popped up, the subject line of which is deliberately worded to grab the devs' attention. Then these threads typically go on to rage, rant, demand, or -my personal fave- try to logic the reasons their request makes sense over the devs' decision. Pointing out that you think the devs made a mistake because they didn't do what you wanted is arrogant in the extreme. It's a fine line between saying what you think a character could bring to a story and downright dissing the devs' hard work. I know I'd get sick of it after a while.
I hope it's not us specifically that he's annoyed with. If it is, then we'd apologize but I've seen plenty of reasons besides us that could have made him feel this way. What we do in here is in good fun and for the lols which is why we keep it in here. I prefer to think that's a good way to handle our fangirling, not bad.

Making threads that shout "CULLEN COOKING PANCAKES ON HIS ABS MUST HAPPEN IN DA3!!!!" would be the sort of thing we don't want to do.
