Oh, good question R2! Let's see....
Varric- I think Varric is charming enough to get along with just about anyone. I think he and Cullen could get along OK.
Isabela- Not a chance! She would offend him every minute. She would bring out his 'preachy' side, and who wants that?
Anders- I think Cullen would understand Anders passion, if not him goals. And we might find out if they knew each other much from DA:O. That would make for interesting banter.
Fenris- This would be interesting! Cullen knows that not all Mage's are bad. I almost think these two would temper each other a bit.
Merrill- I think Cullen would try to show her why Blood Magic is wrong. But since she's so naive and brought up differently, I think he would try to do so gently.
Aveline- He would repect her sense of duty and honor. I'd like to think they could be friends.
Bethany- Due to her age and sweetness, I think Cullen would be protective of her.
Carver- Cullen would tire of the attitude. And would want him to be more respectful to his older sibling.
There's my 2 cents worth.

Edit for ToP: one of my favs.

Oh dear, just ran into an unkind but funny one about the obliviousness of templars in DA2. Here.

Yeah, I was wondering where folks are, too -- perhaps holding off on page 100 so we have more time? LOL My bet is that we haven't had LolaLei to prompt us with questions!

So... here's a sorta question, building off of a previous one. If Cullen were a companion in DA2, which companions do you think he'd get along with and which not? What would their banters be like?

Nice question!  I think Cullen wouldn't stand for being around Merrill or Anders unless he HAD to for some reason. He'd probably leave a "good" mage alone but mages doing bloodmagic or having a spirit inside them? I can't see him being okay in their presence. If he didn't know these things about them, I think he'd find Angers equally annoying and funny. That is if Anders wasn't spewing poisoned jabs at him for being a templar too often. I think he'd find Merrill adorable. He seems the type to be endeared by the innocent childlike personality she has. Until she tries convincing him that it's not a demon's fault they are what they are.

Carver would probably grate on his nerves with his constant sniping but occasionally they'd findcommon ground. I think Isabela would just disgust him but her occasional bouts of decency would have him not able to despise her so he'd be more sad she treats herself that way. Fenris, he'd probably be appalled at his story and think of it as further proof that what he does as a knight is all that more crucial. But Fenris goes overboard at times and I think Cullen would feel like he's in a position to help  temper the elf's anger, teach him that not all magic is bad. I know Fenris seems to learn it over time but that seems reserved for Hawke. I think the difference would come in when they stumbled upon a mage Fenris thinks they should kill and Cullen wants to give the same chance all other mages are afforded.

I think Aveline and Cullen would probably just get along period. Nothing special or out of the ordinary, just two duty obsessed people. Until she felt friendly enough with him to share personal stories; then she might make him uncomfortable with comparisons between him and Wesley and comparing the Order in Ferelden to Kirkwall's. She might also take him to task for what she feels is the Templars lak of helping the city enough. Bethany would just be a sweet girl to him, I think. A good mage.

Varric would probably get on Cullen's good side with his charm eventually. He's good at that but i think it's also possible for Cullen to distrust him so heavily that the Merchant Prince gets nowhere in that regard.

Sebastian, he would probably just feel a kinship towards I think. Being in the Chantry so long, they both have common ground to bond over.

I think that's every one in DA2. Contemplating his compatibility with DAO companions would be a much longer post.

Edit: That is a nice piece of art LadyShamen! :D Thanks for sharing it with us.

Isabela -- I think you guys are right that Isabela wouldn't get along with him. I'd see her treating him like she does Seb, taunting him and trying to embarrass him. I'd think he'd be less likely to rise to the bait than Seb, though, and just ignore her.

Varric -- I agree -- I keep seeing Cullen getting along well with Varric, who seems able to get along with anyone without preconceptions.

Seb -- Honestly, I always see the two of them being friends, with their similar backgrounds and the fact that they  both try to see the world fairly (even if sometimes they don't realize some of their prejudices). And, I see them both being teachable.

Anders -- I see Act3!Anders fighting tooth and nail with Cullen, probably worse than with Fenris. I was reminded, reading through Anders-Varric banters, that Anders' relationships with the companions change dramatically then, and he becomes so focused on the mission that he's not very rational. But, I would also be curious about his and Cullen's "past" at Kinloch Hold. That might forever keep them at odds, since Cullen isn't just one of the oppressors, he's been a personal oppressor of Anders's. Like here, in Anders vs Cullen.

Merrill -- I like y'all's ideas about how he might be captivated by her sweetness. I could also see him going all Fenris on her as a blood mage, once he finds that part out. It would probably be all Hawke could do to stop him from turning her in.

Fenris - I also like the notion that Cullen could help temper him.

Carver - Hmm, that would be interesting, esp once Carver becomes a templar. Could their interactions turn more brotherly, as Cullen feels he has to mentor a brother in arms?

Beth -- argh, I hate to admit, but I could see a spark there. Probably all the saucy CullenxBeth fic I've read.

Aveline - agree that they'd be comrades in arms.

Now if they were the DA:O companions, it's a bit different, eh? Since the best comparison would be DA:O Cullen. But which one? Naive!Cullen or Bitter!Cullen? LOL Probably too many dimensions there for me. :P

I know Anders was in Kinloch Hold but in comparison to Cullen, I'd forgotten. So that could be a sticking point. I think early DA2 Anders it might have been possible for them to find common ground if their previous shared history wasn't a factor, that is. Anders was more charming then. Had more of that Alistair-ish streak. Or was trying to. Act 3 Anders? Not so much.

I can't see a spark between Beth and Cullen. Maybe between DAO Cullen and her I could but DA2 Cullen, for some reason, I don't see it.

For DAO companions, if I had to pick yes/no answers for who he'd get along with:

Alistair - yes
Morrigan - Nope!
Leliana - yes (most of the time)
Ohgren - Not until he gets to know him, then he might.
Sten - Won't want to but might find respect for him.
Wynne - yes
Zevran - Another Isabela to him, so no.
Shale - hard to say... maybe?

And this all based of how I see Cullen as a person, i.e. DA2 Cullen. I don't feel I know him well enough from DAO to say. probably still the same answers but Naive Cullen would be hesitant in his positive interactions and quieter about the negative ones. Bitter Cullen would be less trusting of all of them for having mage friends and thus only grudgingly form a bond or two. Most likely Alistair and Leliana, IMO.

Oh. That works too. I'm sorry it's being obstinate. You could draw another. Practice makes perfect, they say. :) Would you mind sharing it anyway? Despite it not being what you think it should be? Maybe you're being too hard on yourself. It's easy for we artists to do that.

Edit: I apologize if I'm putting you off. I was just trying to help. :)
Also, It's pretty dead in here. Wonder what happened? Is everyone off making stuff for page 100?

I can tell your intentions were well and I do appreciate it :]

I
have no clue. I don't know if I ever seen that scene. I've only
gotten the mage ending. I've played the game almost three times, the
second I had to restart because Isabella bailed on me and I didn't bring
fenris with me when I had to confront the arishok.

Edit: (To Meredith, on taking responsibility for surrendering mages) "Yes. I believe that’s what being a Templar is about."

I found it on dragonage.wikia.  I didn't think it was that short. =/ ah well  I finished my epilogue without needing it anyways.

Seems
you don't need it any longer, but FWIW, it is much longer than that.
The only part I seem to have written down, though is this, since it was
in my fic:

“And if they hope to escape by playing innocent?” Meredith sneered. “Will you accept that responsibility, Cullen?”

“Yes,” he countered, feeling the weight of that responsibility keenly. “I believe that’s what being a Templar is about.”

“And I say we are here to protect the people. We must be judges, jailers and even executioners.”

OH -- heh, just remembered, there is a vid of it HERE.

EDIT for fun:

Thanks R2!

Is the last sentence what Meredith said?

Yeah, minus Kinloch Hold, I think you're right that Awakenings!Anders might have been able to get along. Their banters would probably be hilarious!

Yeah, I used to think that, too... I guess I could see him get all protective with her, since she seems to need/attract that sort of thing.

Generally agree, with same caveats.

I just had a flash imagining Leliana cross-examining him about his views of the Order, which could be bad for their friendship but good for him figuring his sh*t out.

I could see Sten's reaction to him being entirely dependent on how "true" to his duty he was being at the time , and that Sten would respect him for cleaving to his duty unquestionably. So, e.g. "end of Act 3, voice of reason, let's defy our superior officer" Cullen ... prob not so popular with Sten (if he were to meet him).

And, I don't know... I sorta see Cullen as a little bit prurient, so could see him just generally being offended by Oghren. But that's probably also a reflection of my own feelings for him (grumble lecherous, wife-and-kid-abandoning drunk! grumble grumble<_<).

edit for some formatting fail.

@Dunquixote - I think he still looks recognizably like Cullen. I see what you mean about the eyes but the bottom right of your eye sketches looks pretty dead on. You said you tried tracing a copy you can continue to work from? Or no? You have a good start and it's possible to salvage it with a tracing of the face without the bad eyes and trying again to make them better. But (not to sound like a dick) you're still not so far that you can't just start over, if you like. Think of this one as practice. It looks like the scene where he was fondly remembering Amell, though.

Is the last sentence what Meredith said?

Yes. Here's the whole scene, if it's helpful (since I now have it written down for my own notes!). For Hawke's responses I included the game phrase you choose in [ ]'s.

Surrendering Mage: Have mercy, we beg you. Do whatever you want with us, but let us live!

Meredith: No. This Circle is beyond redemption.

Cullen: Knight-Commander, surely the Right of Annulment requires something more—

Meredith: It requires my word, Cullen. Do as I’ve commanded.

Surrendering Mage: Champion! Will you not defend us? Must we all be slaughtered for the actions of a few?

Hawke: [What does Cullen think?] I want to hear what the knight-captain has to say.

Cullen: I… The Right has always been a last resort, when every mage involved was beyond salvation. The situation was much more dire in Ferelden’s Circle, and yet many mages were saved. We could still do as much here.

Meredith: Objection noted, Captain.

Hawke: [Can they tell us anything?] Maybe they can answer some questions.

Mage: I think the first enchanter is still in the tower. He… said he had a plan, something that would stop you.

Meredith: Demons? Or something worse?

Mage: I don’t know. We wanted nothing to do with it, so we ran. Please, help us. We’ve done nothing wrong.

Hawke: [Are they innocent?] Is there a way to tell if they’re blood mages?

Meredith: There is not.

Cullen: But they haven’t resorted to it, even to save their own lives. Perhaps if we watch them carefully—

Meredith: “And if they hope to escape by playing innocent? Will you accept that responsibility, Cullen?”

Cullen. “Yes. I believe that’s what being a Templar is about.”

Meredith: “And I say we are here to protect the people. We must be judges, jailers and even executioners.”

Hawke: [Spare them] We’re here to prevent a crisis, not raze everything in our path.

Cullen: Listen to the Champion.

Thanks, you two.  I might pick them up again once I've taken the rest of my finals.

-sighs dreamily- Cullen sure is the knight he had once dreamed of being, at least in my eyes. -wants to go hug him now-

Thanks R2. I think I'll copy that down in case I do need it. :)

Hehe.  Thanks for the support.  I just have too much expectation.  I want him to at least look like

I'm still checking in when I can lol. But that's a good question! I think he'd get along with stern, authority figures like Aveline was in DA2. But I also think he'd get along with some of the younger companions that are still unsure of themselves, especially Mages that were wary of their talents, I think he'd take them under his wing and try to teach them to use their magic safely, though I think he'd be inclined to lecture a little too often lol.

I would have been mostly interested to see Cullen interact with Sebastian. Both loyal Chantry boys, but nobody's more devout than Seb, and Cullen seems to have his doubts... I mean, he never talks about the Maker, just mages. I'd be interested to see if they'd be buddies or rivals.

@LolaLei, I like that idea of him being a mentor to mages!

@brushyourteeth, interesting idea. I'd also love to see them interact. Personally, I get the sense that Cullen would be rather devout, especially since there's some hint that templars may even be initiates in the Chantry before knighthood (at least according to the Chantry codex...). Also, he mentions Andraste several times during the conclusion of the Keran quest, in the context that his beliefs about mages stem from "the will of Andraste" and how this is the "central fact of the world that Andraste recognized." But, beyond that, we don't know much.

What I found hilarious, was his interaction with Oghren at the tower. I'm sure banters with him would be a handful. xD I loved the mad expression Cullen had.

I wonder how he'd interact with Nathaniel, Shale, Sten, and Sigrun.

Oghren: I think you need a tall mug of ale to calm you down, lad. I may need one myself, come to think...
Cullen: That was inappropriate, dwarf. But what more could be expected from an ignorant, cave- dwelling heathen?
Oghren: Ignorant, cave-dwelling heathen...? Have we met before?

<3 Oghren.

Thanks for the encouragement everyone. I'll post an update when I work on it again.

I would like to see all 3 chantry boys together and see how they react as a group. Friends.

@ R2...yeah still having issues with ff.net :( thing is I have a lot of documents that I store there and just add to when I get ideas...and it's only on my pc. I can access it with my phone, but that's pointless....I have issues with their sister Fictionpress as well...:( going on my fifth email now with them.

I think Cullen would get annoyed with Alistairs jokes and laid back attitude/lack of belief in the Templar order. They make a great comedy duo though, Cullen would be the straight man to Alistair's constant bad jokes and fooling around. But I think even Cullen and Alistair would get sick of Seb's preaching unless he eased up on it a bit lol.

I need a huge favor from anyone here that has a ff.net account lol. I do realize that this is WAY off topic. But it has to do with me posting more Cullen stuff lol. So it's kind of on the same page. I'm such a hooozer lol

I can't sign in or even post a help topic. If any of you ladies have the time....I would sooooo appreciate it. Can someone go to this link http://forum.fanfict...elp_Desk/20103/ and post a new topic Titled Can't Login into Fanfiction.net Account. and post the following msg?

It's been 5 days. I can't sign into my account. I have flash and java updated. I have windows 7 and I have been a member for about 8 years. I have never had an issue such as this. I can read stories. But I can't review, sign in or even view certain things on the site. I've had to get a fellow fanfic friend to even post this here for me. Hi kids! What'd I miss?

Let's see... I don't really know if Cullen would have a hard time with anyone aside from crazy a** Anders and Merrill with her blood mageiness. I can see him becoming uneasy with Izzy after being repeatedly hit on. Other than that I imagine him to be fairly easy to work with so long as there's no straight up anti-Templar sentiment.
