I like the blue. It contrast Earth very nicely. Now just change the BioWare an EA logo to blue and everything will be fine.

I like the blue, would be interesting though to see ships in background how they work and move around while idle at that screen before playing. What the motion and momentum of the logo or background is like.

On topic, I like the blue. Maybe have it slowly turn red and have Reapers enter from the right side of the screen and descend on Earth if you let it go for awhile.

I'm not sure if paragon/renegade could possibly work. This is the screen before the game loads up the save games.
As for the blue vs red...I have to go with red. I don't buy into that artsy bull**** about the blue representing the calm before the storm...

considering it's jsut a quick mock-up demo screen. we have no idea what the actual screen looks like. for all we know the real screen is Shepard locked in a potentially disturbing supposed hand to hand combat pose with a reaper.

Ok, I'm not a fan of the blue logo. Stick with red. However, the Earth background looks great to me. I would love if it changed depending on the part of the game our last save was on. Think of how Portal 2's menu worked for example. If we are just starting the Earth would look normal. After the beginning, the Earth is under attack. Maybe if we fail to save Earth; it is a bombarded wasteland.
I don't expect this of course, but it'd be pretty neat.

I think the problem with this screen are BioWare and EA logos and the text between them. Whole screen should be clean at first, logos can be added in the menu screen.
I think Portal's title screen (changes reflecting the games progress) is quite possible. Also, blue looks good.
Although I'd prefer something original, not ME1 opening screen for the second time. Something, that would present some important place for the story, like the other side of O4R in ME2. We know, that the Earth is important in ME3, but I'd rather see something... more mysterious.
