Dragon Age 2 save game files consisted of the game progress and profile files. Only the profile file is copy protected.
Goal:
my DA: O save files are located on my old PS3 console. I want to be
able to start a new DA2 game by importing decisions made in DA: O saves.
But I want to be able to play DA2 on my new PS3 console.
Without
PS+ Cloud Storage to transfer the DA: O saves to the new PS3, the only
way I know how to import DA: O save into DA2 is start a new DA2 game on
the old PS3 console. After the game as started, save the progress. Copy
the game progress save file to the new PS3 console. But the profile
cannot be copied over to the new PS3 console.
Question: Without
the DA2 profile on the new PS3 console, the game will create a new
profile save file. Is there anything I'll be missing by doing it this
way? Are the DA: O decisions imported into the DA2 stored in the game
progress file, not the profile? If it's safe to copy only the game
progress file without the profile, what's the point of the profile other
than tracking the settings? There has to be some kind of game progress data that is hidden in the profile or there's no reason to copy protect the file.
