Just picked up Deus Ex: Human Revelations (or Resolution or whatever) Augmented Edition for £42. A nice deal for sure.

Well I'm still trying to figure out why I gave in and bought it. Unlike Witcher 2 I was genuinly interested just with all the other games that I'm excited for it was low on my list.

first 4 hours and I'm glad I did. Trying to be all stealthy and sneak past everything is great. I see why this game got all the hype it did.

My one complaint is still the actual combat. The sneaking part is a lot more fun.

By the way, I wonder why I didn't get Ghost after Alice Gardens. I am 100% sure I did not get spotted at any time. I knocked out everyone including those pesky heavies just for sport and disabled the turret too. I was so proud of myself, but no reward.

Could it be because I didn't hand over a gun at the beginning? I didn't want to give someone one of my upgraded guns, obviously.

My build was primarily stealth based (with absolutely zero points in the arm upgrades at that point) so I only carried a stun gun and a heavily upgraded 10MM handgun. Needless to say, I was distraught when Jensen handed over the only lethal gun in his inventory. To fix this, I simply reloaded a previous save, dropped my handgun in front of "the dutchmen" and purchased a brand new 10MM from the dealer downstairs and gave that to him instead. :P

That's what I should have done. But I did not have the patence. I learned that sometimes Jensen can be a bit nasty :)

I just finished, had to bite my nails to prevent myself from looking at all the endings.

I'll save some surprise for my next playthrough.

There were plenty of free guns in the pods there. I just gave him one of those. I don't think it affected the ghost bonus though. But he does send you money later on as a way to say thanks.

Alice Gardens was one of two spots where I purposely dropped my stealthy non-lethal approach. After they killed all those innocents I wasn't letting them leave there alive. I think that was the first time I saw my explosive revolver get a real workout.

I wonder then if running when cloaked does. They notice you running but never turn hostile. I didn't think it did anything, but that's the only thing I can think of. I had to use a distraction, cloak and do a double-takedown to get rid of the heavies.

They hear you running doesn't the AI become alarmed? They can't even be suspicious, you have to get through without them ever suspecting there's anyone there. I've managed to get it abou 4 times now was a bit tough for me in Montreal though!

I thought Ghost meant simply that you were not seen at any point. I know you can still cause them to be alarmed by throwing boxes for example.

In Alice Gardens, they are alarmed from the start and never go to the normal state. Really annoying actually, because they keep looking over their shoulders :)

Stun gun. Either stun gun+some other weapon(I used shotgun) or just all stun gun all the time if you have enough ammo.

So I've managed to score a Explosive Mission pack code. How do I do the extra mission? I'm on the 2nd visit to Heng Sha.

The fantastic thing was that I could punch all the three big guys in the face in the last level. No more invulnerability for these bastards. Every single one of them deserved it.

But the one I really wanted to punch escaped my wrath. Vote for DLC to punch Megan.

Just keep going with the main quest. It's integrated into Tong's story.

Nah, Ghost means that the hostile flag never goes up. You're still okay if an enemy becomes alarmed, so long as you hide.

I played it twice now, too bad its quite short. But the mission designs is the best I have seen so far.

Missions are challenging and fun if you play them ghost /smooth operator pacifist style. Bosses not so much :?

Absolutely fantastic atmosphere. Art style & music are top notch.

I clocked in 43 hours, played it on hardest and explored every nook and cranny i could find.

This is hands down my GOTY pick and there are still alot of good games to look forward to.

Indeed, to get Ghost for a mission you just need to not get a hostile enemy state, Alarmed doesn't count. Unfortouantely I blew it in Alice Garden Pods and had to use cloak to get away to hide.

I'm thinking about doing a straight up combat playthrough for my next run and outside of obvious augmentations (Dermal Armor, Recoil, etc) I'm debating the possibility of taking points in Cloaking. It could be potentially useful to keep enemies from knowing where Jensen is hiding most of the time, especially if I keep switching cover.

Dunno, but I missed ghost several times and just got smooth operator. Im not sure if alarmed is ok for all missions. To get the ghost achievement you gotta skip many enemies which is less fun and XP.
Go straight to your mission goal, avoid hacking, exploring and killing not needed enemies is the best way to get ghost bonus. Though its not the best XP.

Ghost also nets you an extra 500 XP. Comparatively speaking, every enemy is worth 10 xp if I recall (20 for a headshot). Smooth Operator I believe is also another 500 xp.

nope, Smooth Operator gives you 250. Just saying for ghost  achievement you basically avoid most stuff, that isnt necessary for the mission. I think Smooth Operator gives more bang for your buck, if you hack, explore, loot and knock down everything.

And you get 50 Xp for each enemy if you knock him down and 30 if you stun / sleep him.

So basically you need to knock down 5 more enemies to get more xp then with Ghost bonus

So I'm wondering, what was everyones favourite weapon? I was gutted I dind't pre-order and get the silenced sniper rifle, but I was surprised by how good the crossbow is once you get the hang of it, and the revolver was my go to weapon if I ever got seen and during boss fights.
