So I'm wondering, what was everyones favourite weapon? I was gutted I dind't pre-order and get the silenced sniper rifle, but I was surprised by how good the crossbow is once you get the hang of it, and the revolver was my go to weapon if I ever got seen and during boss fights.

I guess mine would be the Tranq Sniper and the PEP(huge radius)

The typhoon. I used a sniper rifle once, during the Malik rescue, the level design is such that a sniper rifle isn't much use. The tranq gun serves as a very good sniper type weapon.

Takedowns, ... if I have to use another weapon besides myself, I did something wrong.

I loved the revolver with explosive rounds. It was fantastic, especially towards the end. The crossbow was pretty powerful but I never really got used to it as I had a silenced pistol that I fell back on. For boss battles the grenade and rocket launchers were immense. I used the rockets on Barrett and ended it in seconds. Grenade launcher against Namir ended it even quicker, they stun aswell as do huge amounts of damage to him.

I wanted to love the combat rifle it looked awesome but it rarely had any use while I was sneaking and the revolver was often better in a straight up fire fight. I forced myself to use it and develop tactics but it really wasn't great for my play style. Same with the heavy rifle.

That. But I do have a silenced and heavily upgraded 10mm and a stun gun. I use them exactly when I make a mistake and am too lazy to load my last save.

Speaking of the lethal weapons, I found the 10mm superior to both the pistol and the combat rifle. It's extremely accurate without having to aim down sights, takes up very little space and uses common and cheap ammo. I guess I might need more power for later bosses, but for the average enemy, anything more is complete overkill.

No, I think Jensen is just used to create JC and Paul.

The weapon I used the most was the Stun gun. Not only could it do nonlethal takedowns but could also be used to short out cameras, turrets and droids. Extremely handy once I figured that out. Was the go to weapon for a stealth playthrough.

Melee Takedowns would be my second most used method. Would have been my first if it weren't for the energy cost. I was sad there weren't actual melee weapons like the two previous Deus Ex titles.

My favorite weapon was the Revolver. Dirty Harry only wishes he had explosive rounds. For those moments where I dropped my non lethal stance. Made short work of anything I used it on. Including bosses.

The PEPS was #4. But mainly it only saw usage during the final map where I needed to do herds of non-lethal takedowns and stealth wasn't an issue. Lugging it around all game paid off then.

You can get the first two games bundled together on Steam. DX was released in like 2000, and DXIW in 2004, so they will run on all but the most ancient PC hardware. They're worthy investments, even DXIW which is IMO criticized too harshly.

Invisible War is b0rked, at least for me. It auto-updates to 1.02, and 1.02 has a serious save bug for some drivers (like mine) where loading new areas/saving/auto-saving crashes to the desktop. It's unplayable.

Thats a very good point, I think my fists took out more people then all my weapons combined. Reflex boost is such a good augment. The energy cost was annoying on takedowns though. I think double takedowns should have taken away energy, but not the single takedowns.

Ouch. That sucks. I was unaware of that; I still have my original disc. So if that's happening to you then I would say the game is not being criticized too harshly.

I would vote for it as game of the year.

Not a perfect game (what is?), but by far miles better than anything thats come out this year.

Does anyone got any tips on how to defeat Federova?

Shoot out the electrical hubs. When all four explode, she's toast. If you're going to shoot at her, use a weapon with a high rate of fire so it will mess up her cloak. And you can watch for her footsteps in the water, or use your augmented vision to track her.

You mean shoot the electrical hubs when she's near them?

If you want stealth, go with the stun gun. The tranq rifle gets useless in a room with multiple hostiles since they can simply wake their tranq'd fellow up. You'd have to be extremely quick and take them all out in a matter of seconds, and the reload on that thing is worthless.

Stun gun is more close range, but you can use the cloak to hide your presence for those precious few seconds in which you might risk exposure, rather than knock them out cold (something that drains energy).

My preferred method, having said that, is the takedown. If I'm forced into an engagement, my weapon of choice is the 10 mm, with armor piercing rounds, laser scope, and silencer.

I dont understand why nobody likes the tranq rifle, it was my no1 weapon in my stealth playthrough. I mean it has a great range and its completly silent. Much better then silenced pistol or sniper riffle since it doesnt kill anyone.

Its true that those effected by the tranq. could be waken up, but if that happends you are screwed anyway and you have to reload if you want to get the ghost bonus..

Besides that, the revolver was my favorite boss weapon, it's small and does huge damage.

The stun gun doesn't kill either. The problem with the tranq rifle is that you have to use it from a distance or it would defeat its purpose, it doesn't have an iron sight or similar for shooting someone accurately at close range. When you stun someone next to you, you can drag his body and hide it from his pals. If you're perched on the second floor of a building taking potshots at people on the level below, it's mighty difficult to quickly reach the body of the tranq'd hostile.

Before getting a stun gun I used the Tranq rifle the most. With the target lead upgrade its even easier to shoot people with it. Granted it sucks uses it from a distance sometimes in a crowded room but I find myself using it more then the stun gun because I swear I'm always heard using it which prevents me from getting the Ghost exp bonus!

The tranq rifle for me is just a challenge to not get noticed =D

I'm partial to the stungun myself.
I mostly use takedowns but sometimes shooting them is unaviodable.
Been playing mostly stealth, non fatal and there's a few times where I fail at the stealth and have to shoot my way through.  Shotgun has been great during thost times.

Been playing stealthy non-lethal also. So the silenced Sniper Rifle did nothing for me.

Stun gun and gas mines love them. I do like the Tranq rifle to and I always seem to find more ammo for it so I use it more but the stun gun works instantly and the Tranq rifle doesn't.

Once you get the armor piercing upgrade for it, it one shots armored enemies with head shots.

But stunning a camera causes alarms to go off right? I think it does..not sure. I usually try to find a computer to shut them off.

Me neither.  After reading the post I tried it out.
@ Ringo no it doesn't set off alarms.  I shot a camera with the stun gun and it fried... I don't know if its temporary or not as I didn't stay to find out but no alarms went off.

Anyway this game is my new crack right now.  Totally making the wait for Batman Arkham City so much easier.  Long session of play followed with me saving and quitting.  Go upstairs for a minute then come back down and start it up again.
I tried to play something else just to pace myself quit it 5 minutes lol.

Nope it doesnt.

I "stunned" alot of cameras to get past them easier. works perfect without causing an alarm

If you destroy the camera, that would cause an alarm

I am not sure if I can do a 2nd playthrough; after all you have almost all the augs by the time you are near the end and I have disappointingly heard that in the new DLC you lose all your augs; I was hoping for more augs, weapons, etc.
