DA2, Fable 3. No good RPG's this year so far, i'll keep hoping though.

*ahem* Witcher 2.
or are you a console gamer? in that case, *ahem* Deus Ex

To some people not being able to make a character means its not an rpg. No idea why *cough PS:T cough*

Its as silly as those who say that games without lewt aren't RPG.
Deus Ex HR is a RPG and its the best one I've played in a long time

A good rpg begins with creating your character and if a game doesn't have that, then it doesn't do much for me. I can't get into playing some ugly guy.

Deus Ex HR really isn't an rpg.

Thats your problem not the game's.
You are depriving yourself of a lot of great games just because they wont let you make your own character....

And yet TW2 as well as DE:HR (without any character creation) are far and above better games compared to DA2 (with character creation). However, let's hope Skyrim breaks that trend.

On topic: The worst game I've played in 2011 (that also released in 2011) is Hunted: The Demon's Forge. Mind you, it's decent fun in co-op mode, but it's so bad and dated from a technical point of view.

Indeed.

It's an action RPG.

Crysis 2 for me, it might not be all that bad as a stand alone game, but in comparison the Crysis 1 it pales. The levels are smaller and more linear and the more serious tone from Crysis 1 has been toned down to something more along the lines of Far Cry 1 than Crysis 1.

The multiplayer is also more along the lines of Call of Duty than Crysis 1. What's the difference one might ask? Well in Crysis 2, it's more of a focus on the individual than on the team as in Crysis 1, it might now have been perfect, but Crysis 1 was a step in the right direction. Also Crysis 2 in general lacks emphasis on vehicles as in Crysis 1, in multiplayer it's all but gone and in the singleplayer campaign it's severely toned down from the wide stretches of the island in Crysis 1, to the linear environment of Crysis 2.

Dragon Age 2. Other games may have been worse, but none were close to the amount of disappointment that DA2 is.

This, kind of. I actually can't come up with a game that has actually been worse this year than DA2. No other game I have bought this year comes even close to the "Nearly unplayable"-mark as DA2.

Actually, it plays more like a stealth action game with some RPG elements. The more I play it, the more I feel like I am playing the first Splinter Cell, which in itself, was an awesome game.

I'm going to have to say Catherine even though L.A. Noire comes damn close.

Catherine blows, the game is basically just a crappy interactive anime with a typical anime plot that just takes a bunch of random nonsense and slopilly throws it together expecting us to think we'll be too dumb to realize how crappy it is.
The gameplay is about as in depth as browsing facebook while playing a crappy flash puzzle game except usually flash puzzle games don't have such poor camera angles.

Atlus should be ashamed for bringing this garbage to America.

All anime sucks but even if I were an anime fan I wouldn't be able to overlook the fact that the little gameplay that is in this game utterly blows.
This IS supposed to be a game afterall, right?

There are two categories I use when picking the worst game: the one that didn't live up to my expectations, and the one that was rightfully bad.

I had such high hopes for DA2, but Bioware missed the mark with it. The biggest problem is that it was rushed and corners were cut in a serious way. That being said, it is still better than a fair share of games to hit the market this year.

Worst? Mindjack. Dear lord, Square Enix piled on the sh*t with that one.

I'm still inclined to believe that Call of Juarez: The Cartel is the worst game this year. Duke Nukem Forever is bad, but that game is just utter ****.

Call of Juarez:The Cartel does suck but it's no worse than the earlier Call of Juarez games. I don't know why those ones got high praise, they're just as crappy!

Based on my first look last night I think it will end up Crimson Alliance for me for the disappointment factor.

Worst new game I have played this year was DA2.
This is, however, due to the fact that I choose rather carefully which games I actually buy and play when they come out.
Apart from DA2 I only played 3 new games this year which all were better IMO:
- Assassins Creed: Brotherhood (on PC so it is a 2011 game for me)
- Witcher 2
- Deus Ex: HR (still on that one)

Ok all the times I've posted on here and I haven't given my opinion.
I almost said DA2 but that had some redeeming qualities for me.
My vote goes to Marvel Vs Capcom 3. I regret buying this. Sure its fun for a button mashing figher but the lack of content is just unforgivable. I only play the occasional arcade mode just to mess around. Playing through to see the character's ending is pathetic and I actually dread it.
Online is even worse with everyone being wolverine and dante ect. 5 matches and I swore online off forever.
With the much more superior Mortal Kombat that came out later its not even a contest. Never has a new released gone on the shelf so quickly.

Dead island looks to be the most dissapointing (I'm yet to play it, but I've heard bad things) It had huge expectations but apparantly fell flat with bugs, and a not so interesting story or characters.

2011 games that I played so far: Dead Space 2, Dragon Age 2, Portal 2, The Witcher 2, L.A. Noire, From Dust and Bastion. Still have to finish Dungeon Siege 3 and Deus Ex: Human Revolution, so I can't form a proper opinion about them yet.

The worst one was probably L.A. Noire, but the most disappointing for me was The Witcher 2 (I loved TW1, I can't understand why I was so underwhelmed by TW2)... The best one was Portal 2, no doubt (maybe I'll find Deus Ex of equal quality).

İ really can't understand why people didn't like LA. Noire. İ think (and my Crusader against video games parents) its a splendid ADVENTURE game, with some little flaws.

Worst games for me are Thor and Duke Nukem.(and maybe Dungeon siege 3 still got mixed feelings about this one)

Well no, I don't think L.A. Noire is a horrible game, far from it. I only find it the weakest one among the games I played this year, but overall I'm quite glad that I've bought L.A. Noire and its DLCs :)
