I was just curious as to everyones preference in the order they do things after Lothering and why. I am playing as a dwarf noble rogue and just purchased the stone prisoner dlc. I have Shale in my party now and was thinking about going to soldiers peak and completing all those quest. After that I don't know where to go. I have already beaten the game with an elf mage so I know a little about the game and what happens. The only dlc's I have are stone prisoner and wardens keep, this is my first time playing both of them though.

Circle tower. I find it's kind of rough playing the game without a healer.

What did you find to be a good party then atm it is me(backstabbing rogue), shale(tank), dog(dps), and morrigan(makeshift healer and dps)

You mean the five main quests? I always do them in this order:

Broken Circle
Arl of Redcliffe
Stone Prisoner
Return to Ostagar
Warden's Keep
Urn of Sacred Ashes
Nature of the Beast
Paragon of Her Kind

That just seems like the most logical order, to me.

EDIT: Added the DLC quests, as well.

See this time through I thought of doing the urn before I defended redcliffe. The last time through I did
Arl of Redcliffe
Broken Circle
Nature of the Beast
Paragon of Her Kind

Like I said I just got the Stone Prisoner and Wardens Keep DLC, I finished Stone Prisoner and am currently playing Wardens Keep as we speak. After I'm done here I believe I will do Broken Circle.

Now my next question would be who should i side with, Templars or Circle?

There's really no benefit to siding with the Templars (other than the achievement it unlocks). Also, if you planned on saving Connor without sacrificing Isolde or killing him, you'd best side with the Circle.

Well I only just finished the game for the first time. My main squad eventually shook out to being me (healer and dps mage), Wynne (healer and dps), Alistair (tank) and Leilana (archer rogue).  I'm going to try a second run playing either warrior or rogue, but I'll still be keeping 2 mages with me as often as possible. Makes fights go faster.

There's not much wrong with your current party, to be honest. I assume your rogue can pick locks and disarm traps well enough, so there's no need to put another rogue in your party. Dog is also damn good at DPS, especially when his STR starts getting really high (probably the best DPS in the game).

So if you like your current setup, I say stick with it.

Tbh...I glitched my characters to lvl 25 :P so yes I can pick any lock lol. The only problem I am having with Morrigan is her healing abilities...-.- otherwise so far so good. What do you think of Oghren? I like his smart**** attitude, so if any who should I switch out for him, Dog perhaps?

Oghren is one of my favorite characters in the game, but I never get him until towards the end of the game (Paragon is the last quest I do). It just doesn't make much sense to me (from a storyline standpoint) to do Orzammar earlier in the game.

True...just out of curiosity, why wouldn't you get the
Urn b4 you go to Redcliffe?

You can't start the quest for the Urn until you've dealt with Connor at Redcliffe Castle.

actually, you can start the urn quest early if you go to denerim first.
after my lothering, i usually complete my dlc and go to denerim to complete some side quest before starting on the main quest. usually, main quest i will go in this order
broken circle
arl of redcliffe
brecellian forest
orzammar.
however, you can also do brecellian right after circle as the quest does not implicate much on other main quest.

Hmm, I didn't know that. I'd only ever done the Urn quest immediately after dealing with Connor.

Still, it seems more logical to me to do Redcliffe first, then the quest for the Urn.

So basically, everyone does Broken Circle first? I'm currenty doing Broken Circle right now, after this I'm going to head towards Denerim.

Yup, I do Broken Circle first too -- partly because of Connor and partly for the points gain from the Fade section.

Yes, the Fade bonuses are the main draw for me, as well. I especially need the points in Cunning so I can take the rest of the Persuade tree.

Also, if you talk to Ser Bryant in Lothering for a bit, he tells you about how they've called for the Right of Annulment - and I would consider investigating that to be far more urgent than seeing Eamon first (Alistair even comments about it), since the Right would destroy the Circle utterly. Just another of my nitpicks regarding the "logical" story progression.

EDIT: Plus, you get Wynne - the best mage in the game (short of a mage PC).

I usually do

Redcliffe, part 1
Broken Circle
Redcliffe, part 2
Stone Prisoner
Warden's Keep
Urn of Sacred Ashes
Nature of the Beast
Paragon of Her Kind
Return to Ostagar

That order makes the most sense to me from a role play perspective, though if I'm not planning on saving Connor I do go to Kinloch Hold first. I also like to run RTO with just the Warden, Alistair & Dog, so I do that right before going to Denerim for the Landsmeet when they are leveled up enough to handle it.

I always did Return to Ostagar somewhat early - mainly for Cailan's equipment (Alistair is in sore need of good equipment at that point in the game), and because Cailan's body would have decomposed if you waited too long (well, if the game were realistic, that is).

True enough, but Cailan's armor is so eye-bleedingly ugly (IMO) I can't bear to look at it
for longer than it takes to play the Landsmeet.

It's certainly not as sexy as the Warden Commander armor - but I reserve that for my Cousland. In fact, the Warden Commander armor combined with a tier 7 Cousland Guard Shield and Asturian's Might is one of the most aesthetically pleasing outfits in the game, IMO.

There are non-roleplay reasons for this order as well. Even though, to a degree, the game levels with you, some levels are still harder than others (not entirely sure how the scaling works, but there you are). Orzammar and the Urn are the harder levels, and Broken Circle and Arl of Redcliffe are the easier ones.
I find the DLCs to be on the easy side, so they can be done at leisure. I usually do Stone Prisoner first because I luuuuurve Shale! Warden's Peak I usually leave until I'm in the area (Denerim), just because it feels odd to down-tools from your supposedly urgent quest to save the world just to go off on a personal errand for someone else.

1) Soldier's Peak: for the storage space. For great gear early on.

2) Stone Prisoner: gear and experience.

3) Circle Tower: At this point I go here to raise my lesser needed stat points so I can use my "level-up" stat points for my main 2 stats. Warriors can get cunning up to 16 without ever wasting a "level-up" point on it. Use the level up points for strength. Mages can get extra constitution, getting closer to 20 and save "level-up" points to sink into magic and wisdom. Rogues can get strength closer to 20 and use "level-up" points to raise cunning/dex. Etc. It's just a waste to play any deeper into the game without going to the Tower.

4) Return to Ostagar:  Gear is nice, Sten is strong enough to wear Cailan's Armor after I get the set . . . and I plan on taking Sten to Brecilian as he is a monster in Cailan's Armor at this point in the game.

5) Brecilian: I have a VERY good reason for going Brecilian here. Going earlier in the game is useless because you cannot afford to buy enough elfroot to effectively use the exploit. Going later costs too much gold because leveling from 13 to 18 with elfroot is cheap. But if one uses the elfroot level up to go from 18 to 21 then one is pissing money away. It's more cost effective to gain experience through quests and combat after level 18.

6) From here on I do whatever I want.

Well when I take my level 21 character to get the elfroot. I usually buy 40-50 groups 0f 99 elfroot. I have to to do that 3-5 times before I level up. 1 group of 99 elfroot will not get you much. I usually have to spend 400-500,000 gold to max out my characters level to 25 buying elfroot.
