Hey everyone,
Need some help.
Just got NWN2 Platinum and
installed it on my laptop running Windows 7. Game runs great, although
it requires me to have the Storm of Zehir installation disc in the
computer to play. I found this to be a little suspicious, so i went to
my documents and opened the Neverwinter Nights 2 folder to find all of
the sub-folders supposed to be holding the files of the game were empty.
Also, I created a mod in the toolset, but even after i baked it, when I
went to the New modules menu in the game it wasn't there. I tried
again, with the same result. I can't find any problem the least bit
related to this one. Any ideas?

Thanks
Neverwinter Nights 2 CD has to be in drive to play?

I can't help you with modding. But I'm guessing it doesn't appear automatically under modules to play in the game. There are steps we need to take to copy a module into the correct folders (the ones we download from the Neverwinter Vault) to play an authors module. I imagine an author needs to do the same.
As for disk to play, you need to update. Run the updater so you are at version 1.23. Storm of Zehir should bring you pretty close to the most recent update so it will not take as long as a full update. Once updated you will no longer need the disks.
Files in MyDocuments are empty until something is added during game play.
Hope that helps and is reasonably accurate.

You mentioned that you Baked the module you made, but not that you Saved the module, did you do that? It needs to be saved before it will show up in the listing.
The core game files (ie. the SoZ game/campaign) can be found under <install drive>/ Program Files/ Atari/ Neverwinter Nights 2
And yes, update your game (there's an button from the main options menu). Think the Platnum version is 1.20 (1.21?), most up to date is 1.23. One of those newer patches removed the need to have the disk in the drive.

It saves the baked walkmesh automatically yes, but not the module itself. You need to do that manually after making any changes within the module.

Just to clarify something. The Windows version of NWN2 patched to 1.23 does not require a game CD to be in the drive to play. The Macintosh version does require the CD even when patched to 1.23.
