FO3 Dogmeat went off to fetch some ammo and never returned. He wasn't very loyal. Dog (Buddy) wins.

If someone ever comes up with a mod that gives the hound a "Go for the eyes!" ability to capitalize on that last skill point, it will forever replace the warm spot Dogmeat has in my heart as the champion of gaming muts.

I doubt Dog could last one day in the Wasteland though -.- or be as "muscled" when living off a diet of radiated meat, if he was lucky not to get eaten by the meat first.

I prefer Dog -- he's got an adorable personality. I love when he cries when you won't let him keep the human child he finds in Denerim.

Plus, his face reminds me of Scooby Doo.

Even though i feel OP is being somewhat bias, some of the points are true. Though dogmeat in FO3 isn't as bad as some of you make him out to be, if you mod him of course. I prefer dogmeat as the only companion to bring around, especially over Fawkes and his annoying minigun sound glitch.

After playing alot of fallout 3 and alot of dragona age I prefer the Dogmeat because you could have him and other companion which made a really strong team

Plus If you have the broken steel DLC you could get a perk called" Puppies" which will respawn him every time.. so yeah

Also I really think the "Dog" is almost useless after lvl 14 because of the specializations , but if they change that and the dog is able to become something.. like a choice between two things I'd use him not much but sometimes..

I'll admit I didn't give FO3 much chance, too sandbox for me, but I had hope for Dogmeat. The only other FO I'd played before that was BrotherHood of Steel. Yes... I know it's not considered a real FO. So I finally get a companion that goes into my actual party! Yes! All of this struggling and trying to dodge and run away because I somehow missed a huge target with a ROCKET LAUNCHER is over. Yes! I have some backup! Now, let's get out of this junkyard and go kill some mut....wtf? Dogmeant has died?!

Dog wins lol. But a contest of best dog, I'll have to give it to the Fable 2 dog. You take off running, he runs along side you looking up all happy like a real dog. He took a bullet for me and went out like a champ. He always found me. Found me some condo... he could play fetch.
