If this is going to start up again, i'm going to ressurect part an old post from a couple days on the other thread. Statistics are 4 days old, but not much should have changed:

I thought I would crunch some numbers while watching the news after reading some more of this debate, and thought it could use some numbers at least, if we're going to continue debating whether or not people who think the poll may be fair in anyway may have a point. Lets list the results/% of vote as of about 15-20 minutes ago (from when I started typing this and finished the "math" stuff in that time) I used from polls 1 and 2.
Poll 1:
Total Votes: 72849
Femshep 1: 7,994 - 10.97% (short hair, black)
Femshep 2: 5,295 - 7.27% (redhead, freckles)
Femshep 3: 11,412 - 15.67% (Asian-looking, black ponytail)
Femshep 4: 12,986 - 17.82% (Black Shep)
Femshep 5: 31,506 - 43.25% (Blonde Shep)
Femshep 6: 3,656 - 5.02% (Eastern looking Shep)
Notes towards various arguments/general: 41,343 votes/56.75% not for Femshep 5; 31, 506 votes/43.25% voted for Femshep 5 regardless of hair colour; 5,295/7.27% voted for Femshep 2 textures/look/redhair; 12,986/17.82% voted for runner up; 16642 votes/22.84% voted for a darker skinned shep, 36048 votes/49.48% voted for black haired Shep; unknown amount of blonde voters wanted different hair colour
Poll 2:
Total Votes: 42,612
Femshep 1: 12,606 - 29.58% (Black Hair)
Femshep 2: 5,337 - 12.52% (Blonde)
Femshep 3: 5,482 - 12.86% (Dirty Blonde/Brunette)
Femshep 4: 19,187 - 45.03% (Red Hair, Freckles)
Note towards various arguments/general: Blonde vs. Dirty Blonde/Brunetter have almost identical numbers and % (arguably a split by looking at numbers alone); Red hair has much stronger showing than poll 1; Option 4 has unique texture additions; Blonde Shep has 5,337 votes/12.52%; Dirty-Blonde has 5,482 votes/12.86% ; Blonde/Dirty-Blonde together have 10,819 votes/25.38%; 31,793 votes/74.61% voted against "Femshep 5" and dirty blonde/Brunette; 37,275 votes/87.48% more or less voted not for Femshep 5; Freckle textures being a 5th place winner in poll 1 are now on 1st place winner of poll 2; first place textures on winner of poll 1 are now losing in poll 2.
Now based on those people can make some easier claims about how things were represented from poll 1 in poll 2, since hair colour change wasn't the only thing in poll 2 changed.
There's another half of that post where I show a possible scenario of how you can go from the results of poll 1 With a large Femshep 5 majority), to within 1-3 percentage points of each result in poll 2 (a very small Femshep 5 majority). All with a couple basic assumptions about how the votes would split up and tally (which also showed how most Femshep 5 voters may have liked the original blonde Shep better), but I don't feel like regurgitating it. I think the process was a bit unfair to people who originally had their choice win in the first poll and some things like freckles/green eyes sort of snuck through the process as well. That doesn't change the fact the new Femshep is decided on.
The debate about how many people voted in one poll compared to another is meaningless. When it comes to polls it's the percentages that matter. 70,000 vs. 40,000 votes is more than a big enough sample size to get an idea of where something is going. Both polls hardly moved in their percentages for the whole voting, so they're both an accurate read of how people would vote in each.
In the end, we're still going to have to wait for a Femshep trailer to make a final judgement of how good/not good she looks. As of now Femshep is a Redhead with freckles and green eyes. People against it now may actually like the final in game model and people for it now may hate the final in game model. Until then, I bet this debate rages on until the trailer is released and the hot air over that eventually calms down.
I was thinking last night about how they could manage to get a trailer done so fast, since poll two is only like 2 weeks old. I wasn't too surprised to not see a trailer, although I did get my hopes up.
