I also think that it's not up to par with some of the works we've seen from him, but given the time constraint and (probably) lack of references I think he did a good job of it.100k wrote...
I think you're right. It also makes me think that Bioware still hasn't done a 3D rendition of her (or prepped for a trailer at all), or we wouldn't get such a ... awful angle on her face. Seriously -- I can't believe this is his work. If he had even a 3D model to look at, he could've come up with something much better.
Dear god, that is terrible.

Am I a killjoy for saying that this is hardly an announcement...and that redShep picture is no where near the quality I expect from Patryk?
Not at all. She looks like a child. Not really digging the pic. It looks like there's something wrong with her face.
Yeah, I am not too keen with this rendering. It is nice art, but FemShep looks entirely too young and without a wrinkle or texture on her face. All that makeup in battle? DudeShepard, at least, has a variety of textures on his face that make him appear the weathered, haggared war veteran Shepard IS. All that dark circles and wrinkle texturing. FemShep by comparison looks too madeup, young, and photoshoot Hollywood for my tastes.
Her body is awfully skinny too.

It looks pretty badass to me - and at the end of the day, which is more important: how accurately drawn it is, or how well it communicates what it's trying to say about Shep?

Lara Croft is sooooooooooo OUT.
And this is coming from a long-time raider.
Well, the presentation might have gone well, but it´s still Lara Croft. Lara Croft. Tomb Raider.
Time has passed by. People aren´t interested anymore. This "new" reboot-thing is just another lame and pathetic milking attempt by Eidos. And Crystal Dynamics is probably seriously thinking that people care?
I hope Mass Effect doesn´t turn into another big brandname to be milked to death.

I wouldn't appreciate it if they tried to make more games that had Shep as the main character. 3 is enough to tell the story, and a reboot would be dumb.
But I hope that the Mass Effect universe continues and generates new characters to play with and write great stories about. Just like the Star Wars universe has.

It's not just the lack of texture of the face -- but the proportions, and symmetry. Her mouth is wierdly shaped, and not because her lip is curled. Her hair is an altered copy-paste of the original art. Her eyes aren't focused.
I know I shouldn't be complaining, and I know that time constraints probably limited the quality of the pic (and that last Legion picture he did), but -- for promotion purposes, BW should've let Patryk put as much time and energy into her as possible -- out of respect to femShep fans. This just seems like a half assed way to NOT show new stuff at PAX. Filler. Eye candy.
Sorry if I offend anyone.

I enjoy this design. She looks younger than 32 (I believe that's how old Shep is) but I still like it.
Minus the two years she was dead.

What maybe annoys me at the moment i saw the drawing was the nose and the mouth, and the FAMOUS shine in the breast, the rest is fantastic. Now It's true that see it better, some fails appear. In any way, these critics positions are always welcome @100k, @Deviija. The best to our heroine, specially right now, when we have the chance. If not... when? when all are made?
