Well, the presentation might have gone well, but it´s still Lara Croft. Lara Croft. Tomb Raider.
Time has passed by. People aren´t interested anymore. This "new" reboot-thing is just another lame and pathetic milking attempt by Eidos. And Crystal Dynamics is probably seriously thinking that people care?
I hope Mass Effect doesn´t turn into another big brandname to be milked to death.
Wow. Really? Did you see the trailer? They completely changed the dynamic of the game. It's much more survival horror in some aspects, and action-adventure in others. This doesn't look "milked to death", it looks like they got new people to sit down and make a great game. I used to be a big fan of Tomb Raider, but I became disappointed with the story and art style. This new game I may actually purchase, and not because it says Tomb Raider on it. This looks like a game that actually evolved with the times.

Yeah, I am not too keen with this rendering. It is nice art, but FemShep looks entirely too young and without a wrinkle or texture on her face. All that makeup in battle? DudeShepard, at least, has a variety of textures on his face that make him appear the weathered, haggared war veteran Shepard IS. All that dark circles and wrinkle texturing. FemShep by comparison looks too madeup, young, and photoshoot Hollywood for my tastes.
Her body is awfully skinny too.
We must not be looking at the same pictures, because I certainly don't see the "too skinny". She appears to have the same body thickness as the original FemShep, and every other non-quarian female body. I also do not see the "too young" part. What do you expect Shepard's age to be? 45? Commander Shepard is the age of 29 in Mass Effect, and the age of 31 in Mass Effect 2. Given that Arrival takes place during the events of Mass Effect 2 (or shortly after depend on when you played the DLC), and Mass Effect 3 takes place six months after Arrival, Shepard will be 31 or 32.
People "age" differently. I knew a 32 year old women that I believed to be my age, when I was 18. I knew a 25 year old I thought was close to 30. FemShep would have taken good care of herself. She's a soldier and top-notch, but she's also a woman. Why can't a badass still be a girly-girl? I know plenty of women like that in real life. They know how to use a gun, served in the military, but still like to use make up. Does that make them less badass? No. Take Buffy Summers, for example. I think Joss Whedon did a good job of saying, "hey, you can still have a badass chick be girly." Her facial features look like she's a person that knows combat. When I look at Sheploo, I don't see a whethered face that has experienced combat. I see a sports player.
As for "too skinny"? I don't see that at all. She looks like a healthy, fit weight to me. In fact, I know a female foot soldier in the United States Army that is skinnier than her. I know a girl in the United States Air Force that makes this FemShep look obese.
