We should celebrate to have her as our new default and starting bugging them for the trailer.
Most were satisfied with the old default.

Blonde people got insulted so I don't see why gingers can't get insulted.
I defended the blonde people too.

Hey ME community, pick something more important, like the lack of armor customization for companions or the vastly fewer skills to put points into. *shakes head*
Why should we care about what's more important to you?

Good to see that in Patryk's art female Shepard actually looks like a soldier not a Barbie. I like it.
A soldier would be wearing a helmet. Her armor has taken a hell of a beating, but a perfect face? lol?

I certainly see your point regarding the age thing... you're right it does make sense since they've slown down the rate of aging and celluar degeneration since humans can live to 120 or 150 was it?
Did they? I assumed advances in medical technology simply allowed the elderly to live longer, not slowed aging.

In the novels, Kahlee Sanders is said to look around 30 despite being around 50. I haven't read them, so I don't actually know if this was due to advances in medicine or simply very god genes, but this is the example most people bring up when they talk about aging in ME.

You called it exclusive. It's not exclusive in any way. Learn to use words, imo.Jebel Krong wrote...

instead of picking semantics how about you learn to shut up? It's not targeted at everyone it's constant appeasing of an undeserving minority, hence being more or less exclusively targeted content.

Yep, disturbing how many people on the Mass Effect forums know so little about the Mass effect setting. It is mentioned explicitly in one of the novels, perhaps Ascension, that advances in medicine mean people age much later and that there is no reason why someone in their fitieswon't look like a fresh faced thirty year old. Whinging about it just shows your ignorance of the setting.
Jebel Krong, so the 18% of ME players who played FemShep don't deserve anything? It couldn't be, for example, that by giving FemShep equal advertising time that it might increase the number of people who play FemShep? Having a FemShep isn't hurting you, you can ignore her entirely, so why the idiotic hissy fit?

Whoa... now that they showed that new picture. She does look like a teenager in it. XD
XD I seriously don't get why people are saying she looks so young. I mean she looks young, but not the thirteen people keep bringing up. She does look younger in Patryk's art than in the 'official' artwork, I'll give people that.

Anyway, I like the new Femshep. I initially voted for #5, the blondie, then switched to the black-haired rendition come the second round. I would've voted for the gingersnap Femshep that won, but I'm skeptical of red hair in ME's brand of the Unreal engine -- it always looked a bit too red to me. Even so, if it's true that this face'll be made into the default of ME3, I'll certainly use it.
I agree. I have a younger sister who's about fourteen and she looks more juvenile than the arbitrary age that people are slapping on the concept art.Eudaemonium wrote...

I think the fact that the face will be a pre-rendered texture like Sheploo's will probably help a lot of the issues with rendering the hair, but yeah - red hair in ME1/2 looked a bit... odd. But then, so did all hair. It was like at some point in the future humanity was assaulted by a strange alien virus that transformed keratin protein into plastic.

And I sure hope that prerendering will make her positively fabulous.
I supported blonde initially, being that I am a natural blonde thus biased (though more on the browner end of the spectrum). Yet I'm still excited for gingersnap Femshep.Sylvianus wrote...

I blame TV. No serious, I actually partially do - people have gotten used to actors portraying characters a number of years younger than them. High Schools dramas are a good example, with most of the actors being in their twenties and portraying 17/18 year olds. Media saturation means that a lot of people's mental image of what people look like at a particular age will be somewhat skewed, unless they happen to know really-existing people of that specific age (and even then, people mature at different rates).
