Problem is that the readhead have freckles, something that will not look so good for a darkhair or another hair color besides red, killing the chance for people to change the HQ model for something else they would like (mods could enable custom hair or eyes but skin is not possible). And lets face it, you just cant compare the High Quality model to the custom ones made with the CC.Eudaemonium wrote...

I have to use as the other choice is low quality FemShep (same story in DA2, you either pick default or low quality) which was good till we got better. Better as in better quality in model and texture, but I always resented how they forced it to a single variation of aesthetics. It's like having all kinds of custom choices on paper but in actuality it's like your only choice is playing pre-set avatar.
Mods enabled custom hair & eye in DA2 but no skin choice and they picked one that only goes with redhead now. So yeah, much to do with my own game experience.
So basically it impacts your game experience because you feel like you're being forced into choosing the new default as opposed to making a custom Shepard? I can see that. I might not completely agree with the logic, but I can see where you're coming from. There was a reason I always used Sheploo before switching to femsheps, after all.
So i can understand the rage, specially because fem #5 didnt had freckles in the first place
See, you can't expect a dev to consider modders when they make their games. By everything I've seen, Bioware seems to have a healthy respect for the modding community. But they don't tailor their games to them and shouldn't. Devs make games to be 'played' not 'modded.'
You get what I'm saying? You'll just have to have fun changing every other ascpect of the game that isn't Femshep's face if you aren't down with freckles. Which, if you think about it, covers a lot.
