I have to use as the other choice is low quality FemShep (same story in DA2, you either pick default or low quality) which was good till we got better. Better as in better quality in model and texture, but I always resented how they forced it to a single variation of aesthetics. It's like having all kinds of custom choices on paper but in actuality it's like your only choice is playing pre-set avatar.

Mods enabled custom hair & eye in DA2 but no skin choice and they picked one that only goes with redhead now. So yeah, much to do with my own game experience.

So basically it impacts your game experience because you feel like you're being forced into choosing the new default as opposed to making a custom Shepard? I can see that. I might not completely agree with the logic, but I can see where you're coming from. There was a reason I always used Sheploo before switching to femsheps, after all.

Problem is that the readhead have freckles, something that will not look so good for a darkhair or another hair color besides red, killing the chance for people to change the HQ model for something else they would like (mods could enable custom hair or eyes but skin is not possible). And lets face it, you just cant compare the High Quality model to the custom ones made with the CC.
So i can understand the rage, specially because fem #5 didnt had freckles in the first place

See, you can't expect a dev to consider modders when they make their games.  By everything I've seen, Bioware seems to have a healthy respect for the modding community.  But they don't tailor their games to them and shouldn't.  Devs make games to be 'played' not 'modded.'

You get what I'm saying?  You'll just have to have fun changing every other ascpect of the game that isn't Femshep's face if you aren't down with freckles.  Which, if you think about it, covers a lot.

Exactly, thank God common sense is still alive after all.

#5 also didn't even have green eyes but Bioware pulled a fast one on that as well. Yet skin incompatibility is the real problem so a blonde/brunette/black MacShep will be Groundskeeper Willie with a dye.

Interesting little detail that was pointed out to me by a male friend of mine who would be more likely to take notice of such a thing  .. but Shepard's anatomy seems to have undergone a slight change as well....

Either her breasts have grown considerably far apart in several months since ME2, or her armor breastplate is doing some major (and might I add, somewhat uncomfortable), separating of her breasts in that new picture.

Notice the considerable gap at the sternum  .. again thanks to my male friend who pointed this out hehe (and shame on you other men for failing to observe this, what's wrong with you all? :P)

Observe:

vs

Honestly   its  not the  big a difference -  it just looks that way because the angle of  POV  in the  top your looking slightly down at her while in the bottom its a front  shot.   Either way different artist tend  render the same characters different depending the on there style.  And who said I did not observe it ... I just choose not mention it, the is  fire being thrown  around in this without the whole" OMG  she's a D' cup they made into a bimbo"   nonsence or some  other  ridiculus  "outrage" that pops up on these boards.

The quality of the image isn't all that good, but the art itself is a better example of a "battle-proven Lieutenant Commander."

Common problem with bad breast implants: they shift.  :o

We can expect a dev to provide the options without us having to resort to mods in the first place, since they're giving the option to customize low-quality FemShep. And I guess 60$ is enough to cover whatever their trouble is to make that happen.

Pretty much every other aspect of the game is highly diluted after ME1 so if I think about it, this whole high quality FemShep business was the only thing that excited me about the game after the crushing ME2 gameplay disappointment. So yeah, I'm down with freckles.

The face on that shirt (which I like) is not structurally the same one that is in that horrid picture.

I really like the T-shirts (though, I think manshep having a full-body image and femshep having a bust is a bit odd). I should buy myself one at some point.

Ah that picture has put my mind at ease, I never seen that picture before, the other one where she is on the floor made her look real bad. Now that I have seen her full face I'm actually alright with this.

But it is structrally the same as the actual official render (which is different to Patryk's and probably more representative of what will be in the game).

Yes, it is obviously the same as the official render. Doesn't help the fact that they have released this mutated anime picture.

Point 1: isn't that what low quality character creator is for?  I'm a bit confused as to what your point is there?

Point 2: What, you don't think that dodge rolls and new melee attacks and advances in traversing from cover to cover are 'diluting aspects of ME1' or adding depth?

OMG, people still complaining about how old Shepard looks?

She actually looks REALLY OLD for being almost 2 years old...
OMG BIOWARE YOU MADE SHEPARD LOOK ANCIENT! /cry

Seriously, some people need to get a grip on their perspective! Oh wait, that can't happen, they might have to think of something else to whine about, my bad, carry on!

Wow, the default Shepherd sure as hell doesn't look like she is in her 30's. You suck at this Bioware.

I'm thinking of getting the FemShep-shirt. Never bought anything from the store before but I'm really tempted by that one =)

Why am I stuck with low quality model if I want customization? My point was made in last page, freckles messes up everything to point that it won't be salvageable EVEN with mods and the majority of people voted against it.

Cover & health regen killed combat in ME2 by themselves, I'd elaborate further but it isn't the thread for that. Suffice to say that this FemShep topic was the only that could grab my interest since Bioware started making "press a button and something AWSUM happens" games.

Pretty sure default Shepherd is not suppose to be a teenager.

Shepard's age in ME = 29
Shepard's age in ME2 = 31 (2 years of "mostly dead")

Wow, Femshep looks like she's 12. I thought they'd adjust her face for the final image. I was wrong, they followed the concept sketch too closely.
