Also, Carfax, in reference to the Shep has accomplished to much for the character's age, remember, you aren't playing an "average" person in the game. You are playing a person who is exceptional, someone who has risen through the ranks in an unconventional fashion. Shepard is special.

Oh for the love of god! Stop this!! Why the **** do looks matter so much to you people!! Ugly, Hot, Sexy, Normal, Old, Young, Whatever!! Jobs and positions in life aren't awarded to you based on your looks! It's how you handle yourself and what you DO that gets you what you get!! If a woman was the hottest woman on the planet, and looked 20, and did better then another woman who looked beefed up and butch in the military, they wouldn't choose for the promotion the butch one just cause she looked more intimidating, they would choose who did better! Just all of you shut up about her looks making her not possible to be high up in the military already.
LEAVE FEMSHEP ALOOOOONNNE!
But yeah, this image isn't Patryk's best work but it still doesn't deserve the criticisms I've seen and read around here.
You get a cookie for pointing out the truth, Amieera.
That said, I still want Patryk to fix that face up.

I didn't realise Shep was only 29(my age) though I suppose I should have realised that would be considered "old" by videogame standards. Heh. Thusly, I have to take back my estimation that femShep looks too young, as she looks about 25 in that image and I get routinely guessed at younger than that, despite scars on my face and such.

I don't know why I haven't brought that up either. The fact that Shepard is supposed to be beyond. Your personality choice determines if you got a medal. War Hero grants you the "Star of Terra", and I believe that was supposed to be early in your career as well as your crowning achievement. But I reitterate. It doesn't matter how young she looks, she's still 29. Just like Sheploo.

Well, have we seen all the different things that people can complain about yet? No?
Guess I need some more popcorn! Oh, and Shepard is going to be turning 2 in a few months! I should get her something nice! /uploads_user/1070000/1069890/43422.gif

Also, I don't think that 29 is "old" by videogame standards at all. Movies and television shows often have the action star in his mid-thirties or later. I believe Shepard is actually supposed to, as you said, be exceptional. Stargate often did the same thing with their characters. Samantha Carter was far too young to be a colonel to a lot of people. However, given the fact that she saved Earth countless times, and was one of the smartest persons on the planet, they gave her the rank. She proved herself time and time again.
SGU had a character that a lot of people complained was too young for his age. But this same character was also stationed off world dealing with threats other Marines don't generally deal with. Sometimes, you just have to realise that in space, things are different. That when you're dealing with alien threats, the military may very well take a different look at their soldiers. As well, the Alliance is based on the American military. It isn't ran by the American military, however.

Everything from the embittered hitherto is sour grapes. This stupid elective process shouldn't have happened in the first place.

Point is that even with everything femshep has accomplished, she still looks like a supermodel.
Why do you care so much about a thread to get so worked up over it?

The actress was 40, yes. But she doesn't look 40. She looks like she's in her 30's to me.
Seriously, does anyone understand why this "she looks too young" argument is moronic? Some people say they think she doesn't look too young, others say she does. You think Sam Carter looked 40, I think she looked 30. Essentially it boils down to;
"I didn't get what I want."

Yeah Shepard definitely looks a little young. I was suprised to find out that Miranda is 35 since she definitely looks a lot younger than that.Cat Lance wrote...

Yvonne Strahovski, of Chuck fame, voiced Miranda. She had a different look until she came along, and they decided to model Miranda after Yvonne, like they did with Joker and Seth Green. Yvonne is also 29, so that could be why Miranda looks younger. (They only used the actress' face, however. Yvonne is definitely not as endowed or as curvy as Miranda is.)

It's nearly 200 years in the future though, 30 for them is probably, 16. Especially since genetic alterations seem to be the norm as well.jreezy wrote...

So you are complaining that she looks too young, knowing the argument makes absolutely no sense, in hopes to validate your argument? I just made a male Shepard in my game that looks like he's in his early twenties. Maybe I should complain to Bioware that I'm forced to have my Shepard be 29 years old when I want him to be in his early twenties?
Or maybe I'll make a really old looking Shepard and compalin to Bioware that my 50 year old looking Shepard is biologically 29? Maybe I should go complain to Seychelle Gabriel that despite being 20 years old, she looks like she's 15. Maybe I should complain to 17 year old me that was constantly mistaken for a guy in his mid-to-late 20's. Or maybe I should realise that different people see different things and my complaint is simply doesn't make sense.

The proportions of her face are shifted (from the chosen/voted femshep image) to the point that it looks like another person, mainly in the area of the nose (which is lighted improperly), eyebrows (too close to the too big and wrong shape eyes) and lips. The eyes are not equidistant to the nose, and most glaringly the size of the knees are off in relation to the pose.

Render versus painting: of course it's going to be comparatively flawed next to a static render, not to mention different.
The nose is somewhat crooked and disproportionate, but the eyes are fine, the brows are fine, and the rest is either the product of angles, foreshortening or artistic liberty.

She's not just hot, she's super hot. I have a thing for redheads, a thing for women slightly smaller in the chest regions and a thing for tough girls. FemShep is all three.
