Exactly. The point was to make it look like they were taking input from the fans into consideration.

The point was marketing. FemShep voting was a huge deal in the gaming industry and brougth tons of attention to the game and an option to play as a female Shepard as well. Isn't it what people wanted? FemShep to be visible? Well, she definitely is now.leonia42 wrote...

The voting was pointless anyway, they just picked the one they wanted regardless of the votes.
Yes because the selection they chose totally didn't win by like 15k votes.

I like her facial expression, no time to look like a beauty queen when a reapers probably raining a multi-story building or something on your head anyway

It looks close enough to me. I didn't see the point of people choosing the 'default' femshep. Now I'm just oblivious.Fredvdp wrote...

Of course, I'm not complaining. I'm glad the awareness of FemShep was raised. But it does seem ironic that we're back to the original default FemShep.

I find it very unlikely that many people who weren't already into ME actually cared for this. Especially since plenty of ME fans didn't care either.IsaacShep wrote...

Casey confirmed armor customization for squad mates with stat changes.
If that's true and it's proper mix and match armour sections rather than ME2 recolours then I'll have his babies. ( And that's coming from a Hetrosexual-bloke. That's how much squadmate mix and match armour components means to me. )

Too many had a rather narrow or Aryan view of how FemShep should look.
So derpy soul-less ginger Shepard it is.

You mean the red Shep with 19K votes or the blonde Shep with 31K votes? If we are going by which Shep got the most votes the whole thing should have been over after the first vote.

Casey confirmed armor customization for squad mates with stat changes. That's pretty big. He also said some squadmates, but not all, will have a casual outfit in addition to armor.
It's still done piecemeal which I really disliked. I'd like to have my armor aesthetic the way I want and apply mods accordingly. For instance, Kestrel torso armor has better stats by itself, but I'd rather be able to migrate those stats to the Aegis vest because I prefer the look of the Aegis.
When I think customization (and I'm glad someone asked the question during the Q&A) I think complete customization. The colors and prints I could put on my armor weren't satisfying. Initially when I heard there would be armor customization in ME2 I thought complete customization and I was looking forward to that. What we got was a complete letdown as far as I am concerned. I want to choose the look and then choose the different ways it protects me. Otherwise I'm looking for some skilled modder(s) to help us do what the developers aren't willing to.

Yes, but due to the color controversy they tacked on another vote. Look, I don't really care either way, personally I think that hair looked better blonde but whatever, it looks good eitherway in my opinion.
I don't really see any reason to be upset.

Use Google and check how many articles were written about FemShep voting. It pretty much sparked the biggest debate about females in video games since Lara Croft. And considering each FemShep voting announcement sparked 100+ pages plus of threads on BSN, I say ME fans cared as well.Mister Mida wrote...
