Wait, the points earned per level go UP with levels and not down like ME1&2? Amazing!

I asked a friend of mine to test out the Sentry Turret's rocket launcher upgrade, specifically about if it can knock down enemies.

From a quick run through on hardcore (might run through after dinner with the same build on insanity) :

- Engineers : yes
- Guardians (the guys with riot shields) : no (not even knock back)
- Assault troopers : yes

BUT. It seems to be random. I didn't really see any one type of enemy always being knocked down or knocked back, knock back seemed more common than knock down. When turret fired its rocket, it was one hit one kill on an unshielded enemy. Rocket turret also put the hurt on Atlas, quite alot of hurt actually. It made the encounter rather trivial, imo.


The one-hit kill on unprotected targets makes it very appealing. Dealing serious damage to the Atlas is a nice bonus too.

Once again Pdesign you're the man, thanks, it's interesting I guess starting level 30 isn't such an advantage after all.

Ah, now that's VERY interesting.... so from Level 1 through 30 you earn 2 skill points per level (except for Level 1, which has 3 points), while with Level 31 through 60 you earn 4 points per level. (while squadmates earn half the points that Shepard earns)


In other words, Shepard can earn a maximum 181 skill points and squadmates can earn a maximum 90 skill points when they reach Level 60 in Single Player. :blink: That means that at Level 60, you could fully max out 8 Powers and have 13 points left for a 9th Bonus Power.

But at Level 30, you can start earning twice the amount of skill points per level. B)

Ok, for those of you wondering about Stasis's 6th Rank "Stasis Bubble":
The bubble itself is not actually permanant (it's duration lasts as long as the duration that you've upgraded it to), but it creates a large Stasis bubble on the field that traps any enemy who comes into contact with it with a Stasis for the power's max duration (even if they touch the Stasis bubble a second before the bubble disappears).

Also, I can tell you from experience.... it freaking ROCKS! :o Oh my god, Stasis is now soooo much better than Singularity, not just because it affects all protections or that it's an instant-cast power or that you can now damage enemies trapped in Stasis or that the bubble evolution rank can trap multiple enemies, but also because you can cause biotic explosions with it with other biotic powers (Throw is gonna become the de facto "bombing" power of an Adept or biotic player).

Looking at his class passive Ranks and comparing to the other squadmates, Anderson's class looks remarkably similar to Ashley's "Spectre" class passive.


EDIT: Or for players who import a level 30 character from ME2, we could get to respec Anderson at the start of the intro as well.

I'm curious if they've given stats on how the Soldier's cooldowns are affected since they were not supposed to be hampered by weapon weight anywhere as much as the other classes.

Secondly, every ammo has a 30% ammo capacity bonus. Is this passively activated once you spec it and does it stack with each ammo type? I mean if I pick up 3 ammo powers [as soldiers like to do, especially now that they are godly] does that mean I now have 90% extra ammo? Because if so, giggity.

Yeah I love it too, Stasis is now the bonus power I am going to use with my adept and sentinel. I amloving the biotics this time around. The new overload and cryo look pretty awesome too. My favorite combo so far is warp exploded with either throw or shockwave. I love the sentinel except fro tech armor. I may play sentinel without tech armor this time.

1. Soldiers can indeed carry "more weight = more weapons", but they're not exempt from the encumberance system - they also can increase their weight capacity far greater than any other class (the highest maximum weight capacity that any of the other classes can achieve is the Vanguard and Infiltrator, who can both achieve 70 points.... a Soldier, in contrast, can achieve a maximum weight capacity of 100 points).

2. No, it's 30% more ammo for each weapon that has that particular Ammo applied to it.

So basically it's a bonus that is only in effect when the ammo is applied? So essentially as long as you have an ammo power applied to a weapon, it can fire more shots before needing a new heatsink. Huh. I can dig it.

And thanks for the info on the Soldier's weight stats. Good to know. Makes sense now why they were saying you COULD stack exotic weapons [Revenant/Widow, etc] but would pay for it since those are heavier IIRC.

Aaaand instead we get Cluster Grenade.  Yes, I am still a little bitter that I won't be able to have a Stasis and Barrier Adept (I was a Bastion in ME1).  Still the amount of casting potential we have this time makes up for it.

Okay having played the ME3 demo i can safely say that cluster grenade is AWESOME
seriously it came in handy so many times. Also it destroyed the atlas at the end.
And this was just with one point in its skill tree
Disclaimer:Haven't tried lift grenade but sticky kind of sucks and frag is only average

Sticky grenade is good when you know how to use it.....and it's hard, because it defies every habit when it comes to using grenades, and since it's more damage-focused than AOE-focused, you have to be VERY careful when you use it if you don't want to waste it
Still not very conviced by this Sticky, Cluster rocks, Lift and Frag pretty good/average

It does, but I couldn't manage to then Warp them whilst lifted after that combo, might of just been my timing though. I figure you're interested in a 3 string Biotic Combo hence you're asking.

Only the Bubble is instacast, so you have to get Stasis up to rank 6, up until that point Stasis is not instacast at all. Though you probably no that, just isn't so clear in there so figured i'd add.

Frag Grenade is my new favorite power. Due to emhanced AI, it makes enemies leave cover if it might hit them. Furthermore, they make short work of Guardians.

I was also very pleasantly surprised by lift grenade for sentinel. Didn't think I would like it, but it seems so effective against large groups of mobs, even at level 3. So with 181 points, that means we max out everything right?
