So with 181 points, that means we max out everything right?

8 lvl 6 powers + 1 lvl 4 power OR 7 lvl 6 powers + 2 lvl 5 powers

I've always sucked badly at math, so... What? Explain that simpler.

You can max out 8 powers at rank 6 plus the remaning power at rank 4, or you can just max out 7 powers but with the remaining 2 powers at rank 5

Okay, gotcha. I like this trade-off, giving you enough points to nearly max out everything, but still adding diversity by giving multiple evolutions to every power. Much better then ME1&2's setup.

As a side note, it seems that if you import a lvl 30 Shepard, you'll have already 61 points to spend

I don't even use bonus powers so that would mean that all my original skills with be maxed. I really hoped that you could only max out 2 or 3 tops.

I'm not sure, but I remember reading that heavy weapon ammo will be refilled before every mission, but you will only find very little or no heavy weapon ammo during the mission.

Honestly with the weight factor affecting power cooldowns, I would hope that you'd find power cells with the same frequency you find grenades (IE fairly often).

If I'm going to rationalize carrying a heavy weapon into battle, I'll need to know I can use it with a degree of regularity.

PS:
I seem to recall seeing some power cell crates during the Sur' Kesh mission.  So my guess is that resupply for power cells is seperate from resupply for grenades.

Yeah, you'll see actual grenades lying around near ammo piles, etc so it refills separately outside of thermal sinks.

In ME1 you found them in crates when you looted.

OH yeah. . . .been a while since I played ME 1 . . . was just compairing the 2 systems of grenades
wish I could add my soldier's ammo power to my grenades that would be sweet . . . but at least CS doesn't suck this time and I can add ammo powers to it. . . :D

It's also important to note that you'll be only be able to max out that many powers at  LV60.  Bioware has said that getting to max level is going to be difficult even for imports, and the level progression chart seems to have a pretty signficant xp gap between the last few levels.

The fun thing about imports is that, with 61 points, you can go ahead and max your passive and class power, and still have plenty of points left over.  That way you can have your class's main power along with the cooldown/weight bonuses from the passive available from the beginning, and steadily progress your other powers as you see fit.

So does that mean its going to be harder to gain XP , to get the points to lvl up and max out

Yeah, I'm noticing this a fair bit with leveling characters in MP - seems like they've gone back to the ME1 system where higher levels require significantly more Exp than earlier ones (in contrast to the ME2 system, where all levels cost the same amount of points).

Which means that newbies to ME3 will most probably not hit any of the higher levels while those who import Level 30 Shepards will have a better chance at doing so, although it's possible that you still won't be able to achieve Level 60 in the first playthrough (either requiring playing on Insanity where you get more Exp or even with an Achievement like the "Long Service Medal" which would grant 25% more Exp on later playthroughs).

Well I've been up all night playing multiplayer. The devs' Twitter comments haven't just been hyped up marketing speak. It really is that addicting. And I'm happy to report that for the first time in any Mass Effect game you can TRULY kill enemies without firing a shot as an Adept and not feel like you are sacrificing efficiency. The power/weapon weight system is a great addition, and really balances your potential damage output, letting you focus on mainly powers, mainly weapons, or a balance of the two.

I need to go get some sleep now...

Ah, then it's like ME1, where levels 1 through 55 weren't that bad compared to the ever increasing XP you got with each level up, but level 55 through 60 was... Ridiculous, taking more XP to go those 5 levels then it took to get to level 55 in the first place.
