Are you sure it's 181 points by lvl 60 on singleplayer? That seems to be an awfully high amount seeing as how it will fill up about 8 1/2 powers out of the 8 base plus 1 bonus power.

- From Level 1-30, you earn 3 points at Level 1 and 2 points per level through Level 2-30 (for a total of 61 points)
- From Level 31-60, you earn 4 points per level (for a total of 120 points)

EDIT: We don't really know, but it's speculated that it'll be like the leveling system of ME1 and that those who import a Level 30 Shepard will have a chance of reaching Level 60 (while anyone starting the game new at Level 1 won't be able to).

How much powers can I max with 120 points?
PS: I time that Shepard maxed all his powers, its the third game and the last with Shepard.

Which is the better final evolution for incendiary ammo? I don't quite understand how the splash works, how does the 100 damage work even?

Ehh it's 178 points. 8 * 21 is 168, last 10 points allows for that 9th skill to 4th rank. 181 would leave 3-4 points sitting around, would be kinda pointless.

It's more likely things shift beyond 4 points as you go in stages, kind of like how the MP does but over a longer period of time. Also the 178 was less speculation and more 'a dev tweeted it, twice'

Splash is basically an effect that happens when you fire ammo at someone. When you hit the target, it sets off this 'splash' of fire that ignites enemies who are close to the target. So instead of just damaging the enemy you hit, you damage the enemies around him, too. Great for enemies that like to bunch up, like husks.

and what about the 100 damage? How does it work with, let's say, AR's ?

Works the same with all weapons - each bullet does AoE dmg to targets. 100 dmg to everyone around the target. Now there maybe a hidden %chance to do the splash dmg, or that 100 dmg maybe over a certain amount of time making subsequent shots just refreshes it. Though from what I've seen of the MP demo at least, its probably static dmg.

Also didn't want to edit my post above but getting to lvl 60 is impossible with a fresh character. This is again, not speculation, a dev has tweeted about this before. You have to import a character (either from ME2 or ME3 for NG+) to hit lvl 60. And importing from ME2, with a lvl 30, your still going to have to do everything to get that 60.

I dunno where yall are getting it being speculation or where that 181 came from? 181 part makes no sense from anyway I go at it. Makes lvl 60 pointless as you'd have your max stuff at 59 (9th skill at rank 4, or 2 skills at rank 5).

Been trying to go over how you'd have to split skills up to achieve 178 at lvl 60 though, still haven't figured it out just yet. If I do ill post what the progress will look like.

Ugh. Kaiden get's reave?
I reeeeally don't want to start all the way back at ME1 just to save him. (I can't stand Ashley, but defending th bomb just made more sense narratively [a geth ship could have picked it up and flown it away])

Reave, Pull, Warp
was an awesome 3 person combo in ME2 even on Insanity.

Life... is pain.

That still doesn't make any sense. Could be a demo thing but I guess it may not be. Very irritating if its exactly like that though as having 3-4 extra points sitting around with NOTHING to spend them on will be irksome. They've also never made it so the max level has an overflow. Seems like some kinda bizar oversight.

Then again the Revanant has 320 spare shots, 20 extra just floating around for no good reason. Well I personally hope the 2 tweets stating its 178 at 60 remain true and some demo hacked out for there first convention they've just been updating at points is wrong.

hmm a question, since we know liaras powers and the max squad points available. What do you think is the best way to maximize liara as a effective squadmate. She gets insane sigularity casting speed, or favour satsis over singularity?
Also stasis evolution, decrease recharge speed or no cooldown 30%? i guess no cooldown chance is better.

In multiplayer Stasis is incredible, so thats going to be my priority with her.  The Phantoms (the chicks with swords) are a huge pain in the ass but stasis totally shuts them down regardless of whether they have defenses or not. And it works great on the Guardians (the dudes with the riot shields) too since it gives you a chance to flank around their shield and lay into their ass with your shotgun.

The radius on singularity has been reduced so much that it just doesn't impress me that much anymore.  In multiplayer throwing down warp bombs was my Adept's go to power and I saved singularity for nailing the occassional cluster of troopers or laying it down as a trap in a choke point.

As for the stasis cooldown I'd definitely take the 35% recharge reduction on stasis.  Its a guranteed 35% reduction every time as opposed to a random 30% chance to get no cooldown.

PS:
Later in the game I plan on maxing out both Stasis and Singularity for Liara and taking the evolution to half the cooldown on her singularity.

I figure I'll spec stasis early on to max it out for crowd control (duration, radius, etc.) then later in the game when I can max out Singularity too I'll spec Singularity out to maximize its radius and reduce its cooldown and then I'll respec Stasis out to maximize the damage I can inflict on targets effected by stasis.  That way I can use stasis on the targets with protection, lay into them with my weapons until their protection drops and then keep them locked down with singularity.

That's disapointing, I know stasis works through protection but I am pretty sure I read that they were supposed to have the ability to absorb biotic power thrown at them , what's the point if they can't absorb the one power that is dangerous for them :/

Phantoms are plenty dangerous as it is.

1: They're very fast and mobile which makes them hard to hit with your weapons.
2: They can instakill you if they can get behind you with their sword.
3: Their sword strikes from the front still stagger you leaving you vulnerable to a follow up hit (like the flamethrower units in ME2).
4:  When you take down their barriers they activate tactical cloak and try to sneak in close to you

Stasis is the only power that's really effective against them.  Cryo blast, warp or concussive blast will slow them down a little; but only stasis can shut them down.

I was poking around in the TLK file from the demo and found the names, descriptions, and evolutions of Javik’s (the Prothean) two bonus powers and passive.  You still can’t tell what his other two powers are since they aren’t unique to him. Dark Channel could be neat.

Slam

Deal massive damage with a biotic body slam.

Rank 2: Increase recharge speed by {CooldownTime%b}%.

Rank 3: Increase force by {Force%b}%.

Rank 4: Increase force by {Evolve_ForceBonus%p}%. OR
Increase impact radius by {Evolve_ImpactRadius%m} meters.

Rank 5: Increase damage and force of biotic detonation by
{Evolve_BioticComboMult%p}%. OR Increase force by {Evolve_ForceBonus2%p}%.

Rank 6: Incapacitate a slammed target for
{Evolve_RagdollDuration} seconds. OR Increase recharge speed by
{Evolve_RechargeSpeedBonus%p}%.

Dark Channel

Plague an opponent with a persistent, damaging biotic field.
Effect transfers to a second target if the first is killed. Effect's length
depends on Dark Channel's duration. Only one field may be active at a time.

Rank 2: Increase recharge speed by {CooldownTime%b}%.

Rank 3: Increase damage by {Damage%b}%.

Rank 4: Increase damage by {Evolve_DamageBonus%p}%. OR
Increase power duration by {Evolve_DurationBonus%p}%.

Rank 5: Slow target's movement speed by
{Evolve_MoveSpeedPenalty%p}%. OR Increase recharge speed by
{Evolve_RechargeSpeedBonus%p}%.

Rank 6: Increase damage by {Evolve_DamageBonus2%p}%. OR
Increase damage to armor and barriers by {Evolve_ArmorBarrierDamage%p}%.

Vengeful Ancient

Boost biotic and offensive abilities.

Rank 2: Increase health and shield bonuses by
{HealthShieldBonus%b}%. Increase power damage bonus by {PowerDamageBonus%b}%.

Rank 3: Increase health and shield bonuses by
{HealthShieldBonus%b}%. Increase power damage bonus by {PowerDamageBonus%b}%.

It's possible Biotic Focus was never a Prothean power and instead was a scrapped Shepard power like Overpower or Lockdown. I think I know the name of the secret squadmate's passive too but it would spoil who it is.

Many of us know who it is....

Use spoiler tags and the spoiler text color and post it.

Using the spoiler text color makes it so that you'll only see the text if you highlight it..... as in the below example.

So I decided to keep with trying to figure out how you'd get 178 going off the assumption the 2 dev-tweets are right and the demo is using some old-slapped together progression for demo purposes. Frankly its possible it'll go either way but I'm bored so here's what I came up with. One tweet confirms a lvl 30 import is 61 points (so definitely 2 per lvl from 2-30). So...

lvl 1, 3 points (3)
lvl 2-30, 2 points per (58, 61 total)
lvl 31-40, 3 points per (30, 91 total)
lvl 41-54, 4 points per (56, 147 total)
lvl 55-60, 5 points per (30, 177 total)

+1 point for the bonus power making it 178 total.

If it's really 181 from 1-60 that's 182 with the bonus talent point. Which leaves 4 points left over if you to max 8, 4 in 1. Or 5 points left over if you max 7, 5 in 2. The 178 max (including bonus power) just makes more sense as its only possible to ever have 1 point left over if you go max and 2 at 5 instead of 8max and 1 at 4

-edit-
Oh also forgot ot add, it's either something like that or 60 may just not give points at all. As with the bonus power, at lvl 59 you'd have 178 total as well heh. But that also seems incredibly awkward. Though not as Awkward as having 4 points you can't use regardless of how you build a character.

which bonus power do you think would benefit a vanguard more, stasis or reave? And can pull detonate biotics such as singularity?

Pull can't detonate biotics; but it can be detonated.

As for the question of Reave vs. Stasis on a Vanguard.

Stasis is an amazing crowd control power; but as a Vanguard you'll be flying around so much using charge that you won't really need to lock down enemies with Stasis when you could just use charge to stun them or to get away from them.

Reave sounds more useful since it will give you an offensive direct damage attack that you can use from cover which will come in handy if you find yourself in a situation where you get penned into cover and charging out would be near suicidal.

Personally I might go for Warp Ammo though since you can have it active all the time and it won't interfere with the cooldown on your charge.

Does anybody know what Overpower and Lockdown were going to be like? I'd like to know what kind of stuff was cut from the game. Also I wish Slam/Dark Channel were available for a mutli-player class.

Don't know about Lockdown, but Overpower would basically give you cooldown bonuses for using tech and biotic powers in succession.
