Regarding point 2 in my previous post, I was planning on selecting AP ammo as my bonus power (since it absolutely wrecks guardians) for use with the Revenant in SP for my primary source of CC. Since I play a soldier, focusing on AP only allows me to max out basically all of Shepard's talents outside of the default ammo powers which, if the Revenant's incredible stagger effect makes it into the final game, would be useless to invest in if my main weapon is already a CC'ing machine on its own.

Basically, AP ammo provides more damage against health and armor than inferno ammo, can stun just as often as cryo when placed on the Revenant, and can penetrate those damn riot shields the guardians are so fond of.

My only weakness of course would be shields and barriers, but hey, isn't that why Garrus is on the team? :P

That's an interesting idea, although with 178 points your Soldier would have plenty of points to max both Armor Piercing Ammo and Disruptor Ammo which is effective against both Shields and Barriers this time around.

178 points gives you enough to max everything except one power at level 60 and if you're taking AP ammo then I'd assume you'd just give Incendiary ammo a miss.

Alright, info from the Space Editions of ME3 is starting to flood the internet, and reviews/guides for the game are starting to appear, so I believe this is my time to exit the BSN until I actually have played through the game and formed my own opinions. I have been waiting too long for ME3 to sully my experience with prejudgements and hyper-awareness of what would otherwise be minute details in the game.

I'm sorry I won't be able to update this thread anymore until post-launch. I hope that it has helped at least a few people plan out some awesome character builds for the game. I know that it's been a great way for me to channel and control my anticipation for the final installment of my favorite game series of all time.

Once again, I'd just like to thank everybody who helped out for all of your contributions to this thread. It's been a great group effort, and I probably would not have had the fortitude to compile all of this data on my own. Thanks for helping me take it all the way. I don't know how much time I'll spend on the Mass Effect forums post launch, but it's been great discussing the game with all of you guys.

Wait a minute, we can still have bonus powers?

@littlezack : Yeah you do you just don't get the one you had on import. Every squadmate has 2 bonus powers. Ultimately that means theres more bonus powers in ME3 then there are in 2 - with out the DLC character. 14 total, 16 with the DLC thing.

As an example Tali has her ME2 power setup including Energy Drain plus a new 'bonus power' Shepard can nab called Defense Drone I think? It's basically a drone sticks close to her and shocks things that get close instead of fly off away from her to distract.

Betcha it's real useful considering shes a shotgun lady.

I'm really wish that we could pick two bonus powers. I would much rather have barrier and stasis on my adept than cluster grenade.

Yeah would be kind of nice, just from a customizability stand point. The demo estimated 181 points would make more sense that way, least to some extent. Thing's wouldn't goto waste either way.

I still think its 178 points, they either cut off the last 4 lvls and made them 3 pointers or more like the progression I detailed out few pages back. 181 total points just doesn't sit right - impossible to use them all with that awkward number.

The bonus powers complicates things for me - have to decide on something for my Infiltrator. Decoy sounds like it might have good synergy with the Cloak...

Interesting, is that the drone that stays by your side as a guard dog? Would you use it to make close range attacks and get away, or to keep mooks off you while you're sniping?

I think what you're talking about is Defense Drone. I think the Decoy is basically a...well, a decoy, probably some kind of hologram that distracts opponents. What I envision it as is a way to flush enemies out of cover while I'm cloaking - send the decoy out, go into Cloak, then get in an easy killshot on whoever goes for the decoy.

So, anyone that has played the salarian. Does energy drain have a stun effect like overload does? and does it damage organic health like overload?

Thank you for putting the page together.

Has anyone seen that loading screen on the multiplayer that says somthing like "You can select your squad-mates bonus powers from the Med Bay. You can only have one active at a time."? I know it's probably just referring to picking a bonus power for Shep, but the way it was worded makes it sound like picking a bonus power for you squad-mates. Hummm... *rubs beard*

1. Yes, it does have a stun effect
2. It damages organic health.

I remember in ME2, if I had my Vanguard use Barrier, then do a Charge, when the temporary barrier from Charge when down, it always took the regular Barrier power off with it - does that still happen?

Whilst that would be epically awesome I very much doubt it...

OK, if anyone is interested, a Tweet by Patrick Weeks about the new Reputation system has a pic of the squad screen for a lvl 48 Vanguard with 123 point spent and 10 points left over. By this my very rudimentary math skill lets me know by lvl 48 we will have 133 points. So it would seem the point procession posted by PDesign a few pages back is about right. I don't know how to post pictures so I'll just post a link. http://blog.bioware....-mass-effect-3/

I saw that the "secret" biotic squadmate" has "dark channel" now, and I'm looking through this thread for answers, but is Biotic Focus gone?

New update, since someone was able to download and play through the From Ashes DLC already (one of the guys who has the Space Edition) - the final power loadout for Javik the Prothean are:
- Pull
- Lift Grenade
- Slam
- Dark Channel

Also, Dark Channel does behave and even sorta looks a lot like Reave, apparently - it damages enemies over a certain amount of time, but if the enemy dies while under it's effects before it's duration ends, it will "jump" to another enemy (however, it does not create a damage-reduction effect like the ME3 version of Reave). Also, on the power's 5th Rank, it has an evolution to slow enemy's movement by 30%.

EDIT: Also.... you can't get Dark Channel as a Bonus Power - you can only get Slam as a BP from Javik.

So guys, I liked all of the powers in Mass Effect 3 right up until the very end of their evolution chain. I mean, they were so perfect! You are evolving the powers, rank 1, rank 2, rank 3, it just keeps going, and it's awesome. But then all of a sudden...wham! Bam! You can't evolve it anymore. What the hell is up with that?! Bioware, you have some explaining to do. How could you>>?!!

I would rate the powers a 10/10 without the final evolutions.

I would rate them a 0/10 with the final evolutions.

They had me all the way up until that ending evolution.
