This progression is giving me hope that damage powers won't be poor at low investment level.

What does influence for soldiers AR mean. It say influence damage, dilation and duration

Influence is basically your persuasion ability.  Like in ME2, you need to have a certain Paragon/Renegade score in order to choose some dialogue options; more influence means more dialogue options.

Damage and duration are pretty self-explanatory; dilation refers to how much time is slowed down when using the power.

Some of the powers are undergoing an overhaul right now. Part of me being on my 8th playthrough of the game is to give feedback on powers to Eric and Manveer and tell them where I feel a certain power has problems or does not feel correct for the specific class. For example in addition to the evolved options I want the Adept to have a lot more combo potential.

Can I recommend shoulder-mounted turrets for the engineer when it's at a higher level?

Predator/War Machine style?

Thanks for this. Sounds pretty good so far. Proof will be in the execution but I think the evolution system sounds extremely promising. If done well it should lead to a huge amount of variation in play.

Ugh, I gotta say...I'm apprehensive about how this is going to work out. The basic idea is good, but things like "Frag Grenade" as a power for soldiers, evolutions of powers happening only a few more times instead of having a significant variation every time, spending more and more points for each level of the ability...

Please, make it work well, guys. That's all I can really say.

Why do you think they are not significant? They look look pretty significant to me. Lvl 4 was more or less the same as ME2, and levels 5 and 6 tend to look even more unique and out there still.

sounds good to me. In ME2, I stopped playing the adept 5 minutes into the game because it seemed so boring (cast and cover, with no awesomesauce).  It would be great to brighten up the casters with somecombos or any challenge really.

What I don't like is how, just as an example, you get one improvement to Throw's recharge time in an early level of the power, then one more option for it towards the end as part of the evolutions.

What I was thinking would be a great system would be to have the basic options like recharge time, damage, duration, radius, whatever, for EVERY step of the power, and for the evolutions that you can pick from add special effects like singularity's implosion or the "combo" thing we've seen mentioned.

I'm curious about the Invulnerability on Tech Armor. Maybe some kind of temporary invincibility mode?

I've been trying to find out from various sources with no luck. Sentinel will be my first transfer in 3 and I must know! :o

At first I thought it'd be like some kind of shield boost - but they would just call it Shield Boost, if that were the case. It obviously can't be permanent invincibility...maybe invulnerable to certain types of damage?

Indeed, they do. I wonder if the rocket launcher is an actual physical missile, or if it's just some kind of energy blast like the Concussion Shot.

WOW CHECK OUT THESE AMAZING RPG ELEMENTS!!!!!!!

-----------------

More seriously, this is awesome. It's really good that the higher evolutions are more about adding extra functionality and are not all:
+X% damage
-X% cooldown

Thank you very much for this thread, OP.

I very much like what I'm seeing sofar. I'm sure kinks need to be worked out to find the precise balance, but it looks as if a lot of things are finally based off of Skills.

I wonder if there will be implementation of perks with the skill point allotment. I hope, too, it will be optimal for specialization within a class itself. With PC Skill evolution, it indeed in theory seems to provide that ability.

I agree. You will be much more powerful at, let's say, Level 5 or 6 than Level 3 or 4. Plus it seems that you can, traditionally, allocate where exactly you'd like to improve Skill in.

Preston commented in this thread about it.  Level 60 confirmed (as of right now).

I can't wait to see how this translates to the bonus powers, too. Dare I say - the return of BASTION STASIS?

I think that's a distinct possibility, and it is exciting.  However, they may just build that into Liara's stasis power evolutions, since she is the only one who has stasis (unless the vanguard acquired it, but that seems doubtful).  It seems silly to waste an evolution attribute on an ability that a class doesn't even have.

Didn't one of the devs say that the old bonus powers won't return at all, with the exception of the teammates having them?

I think they meant that your bonus power from ME2 wouldn't carry over to ME3.  Although they have said that we will still get one bonus power.  Their message is kind of ambiguous, so we'll have to wait and see.  I take it to mean that it won't carry over, so you'll have to pick again in ME3; however, some bonus powers could be returning powers from ME2.  Just my take.

I hope the lateness in development for Vanguard and Infiltrator skills (presumed from their lack of prescence in these demos) is not going to be used as excuses for an unpolished end product, like how they did with ME2's Vanguard Charge ("It bugs because it's the last skill to be put into the final game, etc.").
