Time slows down when soldiers storm?

Yep, just like in ME2 (one of the reasons I couldn't stand playing soldier in ME2... the time dilation every time I was running in combat, which was often, causes the audio to slow down too and I couldn't understand a damn thing being said by anyone talking during combat on various story missions... got annoying fast and it's partly why I've never finished ME2 as a soldier, but have done so countless times with other classes).

Sadly saw that the audio slowdown was still there during time dilation in one of the pax vids.. couldn't understand a damn word that was being said to Shepard by the person talking to him over radio when he activated adrenaline rush.

That's in ME2? I swear, I never noticed. I don't use storm much, though.

It's actually a big reason why Soldier is OP. It's OP because it provides time dilation without cooldown, like the Infiltrator's sniper zoom slow down.

You could run a Claymore Soldier with Heightened Rush and go to town with this passive power.

But storm does have a cooldown, you can't constantly use it.

Still, hm. And I've played Soldier plenty, I just don't use storm. This warrants...investigation.

Could have sworn soldiers just had like 40% increased storm speed in ME2 or something (if you go Commando lol), not dilation. Maybe you were thinking of running with Adrenaline Rush activated? Or maybe I'm wrong lol.

I think some are getting storm mixed up with Adrenaline Rush.

When you storm in ME2 as a soldier, it does slow down time a bit.

What I don't understand is - why isn't it allowed to get all the upgrades for more power points. Why can't I for example get ALL the upgrades of singularity putting 27 points into it instead of 14 points?

Because then there wouldn't be branching choices, which takes away the fun in my opinion, and also it would overpower abilities (you think abilities are spammed in ME2?).  They would have to make all of the evolutions much less powerful in order to balance.

The system they have set up is genius because it is about choice.  You have to choose what attributes to sacrifice in order to reap other benefits for the powers.  Non-linear decision making is the name of the game, and a great response to the criticism of the ME2 power system.

Perhaps you are right. Are the shared cooldowns still there?

Global cooldown is still there, but there are now loopholes and evolutions that work around it.  For example, the Adept's new power "Overpower" supposedly lets you cast 2 biotic powers back to back with no cooldown, and the Sentinel's "Amplification" gives cooldown bonuses if you alternate between tech and biotic powers.

Another example is an evolution of "Throw," which allows the cooldown to instantly reset if you use the ability on an enemy who is being affected by biotics.

Some of the powers are undergoing an overhaul right now. Part of me being on my 8th playthrough of the game is to give feedback on powers to Eric and Manveer and tell them where I feel a certain power has problems or does not feel correct for the specific class. For example in addition to the evolved options I want the Adept to have a lot more combo potential.

OMG. 8th playthrough of ME3! So tempting! Can't we players get some sort of closed beta or something to test the classes and give our own feedback?

So that's what the 'combo' upgrade meant. That's good news.

Though I still think longer individual cooldowns were better, just because they made powers a lot more stronger. It would be nice if ME powers worked like DA, where there are some pretty long cooldowns, but once you exit the battle, everything is reset, so if you run into next battle after 30 feet, all the powers are ready again, but you can't use them fast during one battle.

Warp (Adept, Sentinel)
Periodic Damage -or- Damage Taken
Recharge Speed -or- Resistance Damage

What does this mean?

See my second post.  And you can choose to sacrifice recharge speed for added damage in many cases on almost all the powers I've seen so far.

I read that, I just don't understand. Did they make warp to do damage over time again like in ME1 instead of instant like in ME2, if so then I would understand.

And what is resistance?

Warp
Rank 4: (Increases damage to 306 pts) vs. (Increases detonation force/impact/radius by 100%)
Rank 5: (Damages target x dmg/sec for x length) vs. (Increases weapon/biotic dmg to target by 25% for 10 seconds)
Rank 6: (Lowers resistances to x by x percentage) vs. (Lowers recharge speed to x seconds)

I'm not sure which resistances it lowers yet, I'm just working with the information handed to me.

Warp still has the instant effect, but as you can see the Rank 5 evolution choices give warp the option to either do damage over a period of time or make the target more susceptible to weapon fire and biotoics.

I just don't remember such thing as 'resistance' in ME at all. Enemies just have diffrent number in their health bar as far as I know, and some are heavier than others.

It sounds like the upgrade completely changes how the warp works. Interesting.

All I was given to work with was "Resistance Damage."  I realize now that I phrased the placeholder badly.  I changed it to say "damages enemy resistances by x%."  Pretty sure it refers to warp doing extra damage to shields/barriers/armor, that's probably what is meant by "resistances."

Then what is the difference between these?

Great thread.  I'm really looking forward to playing this and seeing all the different evolutions.  Here's to hoping one of charges final forms is you cut down everyone you charge through to get to your target   B)

Sweet I got credit for something Posted Image

Where'd you find info on singularity's skill tree? I know IGN had an article and mentioned the 50% radius and Implosion but not much else.

One more thing to worth mentioning about Amplification, when the guy in the latest Sentinel demo used it, the global cooldown started immediately. In Soahfreako's Q&A Demo thread, Soah said when he used Overpower, cooldown didn't start until Overpower's duration ended. I thought Overpower and Amplification would be too similar but at least they're
different in that regard.

Sage, my awesome observational skills (jk) caught something else on the ME3 Demo w/ Special Ending.
At 2:34 you can see actually see Multi-Throws description briefly.

"A second biotic throw field overwhelms an additional nearby target."

So, how does Overpower work, exactly? I've heard it's like some kind of temporary adept power unlock that lets you go crazy with the powers for a bit, but I've also heard it just lets you rattle off an extra blast quick.
