Nova does not put you on cooldown, so yes you can Nova then Charge right away to regain your shields, then Nova again!
Makes the Vanguard feel very aggressive but always close to death.
That sounds great. Do other powers not have a cooldown? I'm hoping that Adrenaline Rush doesn't put you into a global CD but rather has its own CD that is longer than that in ME2. Because in ME2 as a Soldier to be most effective you just continually chain ARs together and never use Concussive Shot.
All of my solidier playthroughs are done entirely in slow motion, lol.

Thanks for clarifying that Eric
Hope you guys don't run into too much trouble in final development phase!

Will Nova's damage and force output be linked to how much barrier remaining a player has? For example, if I only have half of a barrier after getting damaged, will I only deal half damage/force using Nova?
Sounds about right. If Nova and Charge really do have seperate cooldowns, then it also sounds like a good panic option if you charge into a group of enemies. Charge -> Nova -> Get Cover or Shotgun -> Charge again.

The new and upgraded powers seem interesting but that last pulse episode showed only 8 hotkey slots. It would be nice if that number could be increased to accomodate the greater number of powers available.
imagin having only 3 hotkeys!

When playing with the usual PC WASD config, it's easy to reach keys 1-4 and maybe 5 on the keyboard, but keys 5-8 are difficult to reach in the middle of combat. Sure, there's the Powers menu that pauses the game, but I kinda like being able to use abilities on the fly.
Also, glad to see then exploring other ways to handle power cooldowns with Nova. I hope other classes have abilities that aren't tied to the unified cooldown. I understand the need for a unified cooldown for gameplay balance overall, but it could also cut back on actual use of powers since you didn't want to be stuck on cooldown all the time.

I dunno. Why sweat balance in a single player game? As a operative I find myself using incinerate more than cloak for no better reason than the faster cooldown not locking my panic buttons away from me in case I run into trouble. Annoying.
You don't want people having a frustratingly impossible experience because they picked rubbish powers, or a too easy experience because they picked powerful ones.
It's more fun if you use a variety of powers, rather than only having one really useful one.
(Incinerate has the same cooldown as cloak, doesn't it? Though I suppose Cloak's cooldown only starts after you leave it. My main problem with cloak was always wasting it because I hadn't loaded my Sniper rifle)

I laugh at those who think PC needs more hotkeys..

If only they could give us back some of the powers we lost between ME and ME2.

What did we lose? Damping changed to Flashbang Grenade. Shield Boost became Geth Shield Boost. Lift became Pull. Sabotage is being combine with AI Hacking. The weapon powers like Carnage are returning. What am I missin?
I guess the argument, especially in terrms of biotics, is that age-old one that they were nerfed
Though in general I can see why they were 'nerfed', and think it was a change for the better, I do really miss having Singularity as a room-clearer (or even worth having at all)
Humble request: remove the 'class power' button from ME3, and make it so any power can be mapped to that button

Well my understanding is that all buttons/inputs on the gamepads are being used. So moving passed 3 isn't exactly trivial as adding 2+ hotkeys on a pc. I certainly support your request to be able to remap your gamepad as you see fit.

Kind of hoping they implement double taps on hotkeys to use powers as well.

Make it happen. I love "double tap" and "holding" hotkeys!!!!

I'm wondering if Nova won't cause a chain attack when it's used with Charge. By that, I mean, what's stopping me from just going "Nova --> Charge --> Nova --> Charge --> Nova --> Charge" throughout the whole battle?
If you miss one enemy with Nova, he/she could do quite a damage if not kill Shepard.
So better think about using that all the time.

Because Charge is still on a cooldown, and Nova drains your shields. Thus if you overuse it, you'll be out in the open with no shields and no way to charge away from enemies.
I can still use my heavy melee, though.
