Or I at least hope not.

Eh, they did say on Stream that turret will start with machine gun but you'll be able to change it to something else.

Does anyone know which demo had the engineer playthrough?

I do believe Gamescom. But what I wanna know is who here went there, played as Engineer, and could tell us more about Sentry Turret, and especially in regards to this thread's (awesome) purpose, its evolution paths.

All I've seen so far is that it's like a stationary Combat Drone that like, sprouts from a grenade you throw anywhere. Nothing about whether it's on global cooldown or limited number of uses, nothing about its evolution choices, nothing about how it works (attacks and stuns the nearest enemy to it like Combat Drone, causes multiple enemies to engage it until destroyed, etc). It's driving me crazy knowing that people have played the demo and this information hasn't been shared yet.

It would be amazing if its final evolution choice allows for a Cryo turret so you can have have the whole fire and ice thing going with your Drone and Turret.

Yeah, I keep hearing about a turret, but I've never seen it.

I wonder if it'll be the same as Combat Drone. And even so, it might be redundant to max both but who wouldn't want two Flamethrower bots locking down enemies while you run Round shotgunning them to hell?

So far I can't tell if I'm more hyped for Engineers or Sentinels, and with Vanguard and Infiltrator reveals (hopefully) looming on the horizon I have feeling that picking my main class in ME will be as hard as picking my main in Mortal Kombat's been (finally settled on Quan Chi after four months lol).

Anyway back on topic (sort of) does anyone have any idea what Lift Orb is? I saw the theory proposed that it might be the Vanguard's new class exclusive (and Proxy Mines the Infiltrator's leaving Liara and Garrus with one exclusive each - Stasis and Armor Piercing Ammo - for bonus powers) but if its any bit at all similar to Lift, which they already have, I can't see how...

I think Lift Orb is basically a Lift Grenade....

Lift Orb is one of Liara's powers and when the powers menu comes up, you can see one of her powers having numbers on them like Shep's frag grenade and Garrus' proxy mine...

instead of it working like how Pull currently works, it basically works like how Lift worked in ME1...

don't take this as fact btw, this is based on what little I've seen

I know Liara has it, but some proposed the theory that it's the Vanguard's new class exclusive (and Garrus has Proxy Mines, which are the Infiltrator's new class exclusive) but I just can't see that happening if they already have Lift. Unless maybe it works on protected enemies too but even still.

Whatever their new powers may be, I just hope they reveal them soon so I can figure out which class seems most promising to me and start some fresh ME and ME2 playthroughs. Theorycrafting is the only thing that's gonna get me through this wait (well, that and Skyrim) and having to put it on hold until the final two classes' new powers are revealed is killing me lol.

I almost completely forgot about Lift.

I wonder if there's any real advantage to using the Lift Orb versus Pull?

Pull doesn't exactly work like how Lift does... Lift always sends them skyward...Pull is determined by the angle of the shot (usually, at least when I use it, it "pulls" the target towards me as opposed to ME1 where it shot them slowly upwards)

Multiple enemies affected + combo evo of throw = enemies flying everywhere :D

I think each class' new power is their berserk mode, amplification for sentinel, for example, it reduces cooldowns to near instant or something. Maybe a vanguard can chain charges, or almost chain charges, and an infil can cloak, stab, then cloak and stab again.

I know, that's what I mean. Pull does the same thing as Lift, but it lets you control the direction - so I wonder if Lift Orb has something that makes it less redundant?

When you storm in ME2 as a soldier, it does slow down time a bit.

Are you 100% sure about this? I'm 99% sure it simply increases your storm speed, which is what is tsated on the description. I have played the soldier less than every other class but I simply don't recall seeing this. It would mean that your cooldowns are effectively accelerated every time you storm and there are actually a pair of boots that do the same thing.

Oops, I meant Pull not Lift in my other posts. And even if Lift Orb does work on protections it still seems a little redundant with Pull to be the Vanguard's new closely-guarded secret class exclusive power.

So F Lift Orbs for Vanguards, and as much as Proxy Mines seem like they might fit with Infiltrators F them too. I kinda hope both classes have entirely new, as-yet-unrevealed powers.

So am I to understand that we not only evolve powers multiple times, but the choices are no longer between 2 basic presets? We get to choose which aspects of the power get improved individually? Please say I am understanding that right, because that IMO makes it miles ahead ME1.

You get two choices at each of levels 4, 5 and 6. So each power will have 8 variations on each fully evolved power.

Sorry to burst your bubble but we still choose between two preset evolution choices, only now on three different occasions for each power (if we fully upgrade said power). Whereas in ME2 only rank 4 of each power afforded a choice between two preset effects, now ranks 4, 5, and 6 afford a choice between two preset effects each.

ie rank 6 of Combat Drone you get to choose between flamethrower or rocket launcher.

So it's basically how I originally suspected and the choices between evolutions are basically the same as ME2 is simplicity? That's still alright, but it would have been great to mix and match what gets increased with each evolution.

Well, I play soldier a lot, and I'm pretty sure there is storm time dilation. If you take the Commando specialization the effect is very noticeable - especially when you get double kills with the Claymore

By that do you mean ...

For singularity at level 4 you have a choice between increased Radius or Duration. You pick Duration and then at level 5 you could pick radius rather than just recharge speed or damage?

I'm not saying the effect isn't noticeable, I'm just claiming you are actually moving faster rather than slowing everything else down. In fact it is more noticebale when it happens because with a straight time dillation you are still moving at the "normal" storm speed.

Maybe for Vanguard, Bioware will overhaul Shockwave to be more like Tela Vasir's?

Throw
Rank 2: Recharge speed lowered from base 4 sec to 3.2 sec
Rank 3: Force raised from base 600 newtons to 840 newtons
Rank 4: (Increases force to 1200 newtons) vs. (Increases radius to x meters)
Rank 5: (Damages armor by x percent) vs. (Cooldown is reset if targeted enemy is affected by biotics)
Rank 6: (A second biotic throw field seeks out a nearby target) vs. (Lowers recharge speed to x seconds)

Is that for real?....OMG the possiblities!

Everything else other than Shepard appears to move slower, so yes there is a time dilation.  Kind of like the infiltrator's time dilation when bringing up the sniper scope.  Also, you can hear the audio for anyone who is talking during the dilation deepen and lengthen in both cases to reflect the "Shepard time" (can't call it "bullet time" cuz it's not THAT fast haha).
