I second this. My canon Shephard is a Sentinel!

Which is not nearly as big of a weak point as your weapon damage. Which of course is more/less useful depending on your build, gameplay style, etc.

I'm just bringing up the point that Ashley can certainly find a useful role in your squad.

dmg bonus to tech and biotic? i hate kaidan and he died in my canon, but i will use a time machine to fix that

I think a lot of people would do that if this stuff is confirmed to be true.  Lets hope the time paradoxes don't stack to the point where it rips the fabric of ME's time and space.

Serious now, I really love what they have done with the powers this time especially the tech powers.  It is very reminiscent to ME1 but with similar structure to ME2.

I agree . . .  the techs/ sentinel seem to lend support to the squad which is great. . .  ME2 seem to lack in that department except Miranda  with her passive , ME1 sentinel played a large roll in support class . . . . in ME2 I didn't really feel or notice if they didPosted Image

I don't see it.   To me Ashley sounds like she'll be useless just like in ME1.   Garrus gives you the weapon damage and he has tech abilities and he's a more interesting character.  Vega gives you weapon damage and he's a tank so he can draw fire,  Ashley is only good for passively sitting in the back while she cherry picks my kills and calls me a traitor to the Alliance.

PS:   Without spoiling any names,  how many permanent squadmates are there in ME3 anyway?

EDIT: Meant to say Seven. :pinched:

SIX?!   Down from 12.  What the hell, things just get worse and worse.  Does that include the DLC squaddie too?

**** that means, I've got Liara, Tali, and Garrus which I like.  Kadien who's dull as hell or Ashley who I don't like and who's worthless to me on the battlefield.   Vega who seems dull and has a stupid hair cut and one mystery character who may or may not ****** me off.

There was definitely some griping, and there still is, but we're mostly accepting of the fact that BioWare couldn't get Amplification to work right. Better to take grenades along for the journey instead rather than pack an ability that isn't properly calibrated.

I have no faith that biotic grenade will be any more properly calibrated than any other power they could have come up with,  And besides I'd rather have an interesting power than a properly calibrated one.  I'll take something weak it it is cool.

Twelve was too many anyway. And no, that does not include the DLC squaddie.

Spoiler Squad - Tech
DLC Squad - Biotic

no Biotic/Combat, and  if you dont save kaidan ... no biotic/tech for you too

Actually, they're eight if you count the VS as two squadmates.

12 was better than we have now, its not balanced
why 2 combat, 2 tech and 2 biotic?

I technically counted the VS as one character, so the ME3 squadmate list would include seven characters:
- Ashley/Kaidan
- James Vega
- Liara
- Tali
- Garrus
- Secret Squadmate #1
- Secret Squadmate #2 (who may or may not be the DLC character).

Yeah, misquoted, meant to say seven. :pinched:

Okay... sounds like you have some personal issues with the character that I can't help you with.

Outside of that, Ashley seems like she could be a good sqauddie for a caster type character to bring along who still wants to be able to deal a decent amount of damage with their weapons throughout the game, or with a gun nut type character who's never heard of the meaning of the phrase overkill. Also, she's the only squadmate who's been rumored to have disruptor ammo, which anyone who's played ME2 with Zaeed knows can be a very useful ability and it's even more useful now as it affects barriers as well as shields. So unless your playing as a soldier/infiltrator, you won't have any other way to use that ammo type. I'm also willing to bet that her Marksman ability is going to be a bonus power, so unless your planning to do multiple playthroughs and don't want it immidiately, that ability would again be closed off to you.

There are rumored to be 8 permanent Squadmates in ME3 (Really 7, because Ash/Kaiden are mutually exclusive.)

Twelve may have been too many although I personally enjoyed the variability; but halving it to 6 is going too damn far.

And one of the squaddies they programmed in you don't even get to see; because the damned Ash/Kaiden fans just had to have their dull ass love interests back and yet Wrex the most awesome character from ME1 gets the shaft and I don't even get a Krogan to replace him, bogus.

At least the DLC squaddie ups it to 7; but still this is very dissapointing.   I mean for Christ's sake I don't even have a Krogan or a Sentinel anymore.

I think the amount of squadmates is just fine.

They had way too many of them in ME2. Ten new squadmates. Yeah. Overdoing it a bit there.

It just seems like an incredibly dumb idea to include the VS as a permanent squaddie when you have less squadmates then last time.   If you had a boatload of squaddies like ME2 then it wouldn't be a big deal; but with less options it seems stupid to include 2 squaddies who are mutually exclusive.   More so when one of them is a soldier, the least useful supporting class in the game.

Honestly I was confident that Miranda would make it back in, she was an interesting character very useful and very hard to get killed during the suicide mission.   I figured they included Vega as a soldier squaddie in case you got Ash killed so surely there would be a Sentinel squaddie in case you got Kaiden killed.
