why is she a better adept then adept shepard? her setup is EXACTLY what i wanted my ME2 adept to have......along with ten points in passive, and one point in barrier or dominate. WTF iS GoInG oN?!?!? her singularity is prolly instacast too!

also, anyone else agree that biotic grenade and biotic focus should be switched with each other??? DLC squaddy 2 also makes liara redundant more then it makes problems for vega and ash. unless DLC squadie has techs too, maybe thats the sentinel. DLC squaddie is also a better adept. prolly. whatever. screw it im going full vangaurd now. screw you adept.
ill miss you!

A few questions.
Do any of the squadmates have pull?
how about Incinerate?
how about Cryo Blast?
and Do any of the squadmates other than Liara have warp?
Tech Secret Squadmate #1 has Incinerate and Cryo Blast I believe. Biotic Secret Squadmate #2 might have Pull (I'm guessing this squadmate does, actually). I think Liara is probably going to be the only one with Warp.
Secret Squadmate #1:
Overload
Incinerate
Decoy
Defense Matrix
Ahh that's right. I saw the same list and misremembered that Kaidan had Cryo Blast, not the Tech Secret Squaddie. I'm diggin' Kaidan's power set.
omfg, so am I.
Reave = powerhouse damage against armor and barriers
Overload = shield damage
Barrier = survivability
Cryo blast = CC
Along with lift grenades (?)...
he could potentially be the best squadmate.. SO glad he's my canon shep playthrough.

Thanks for the info guys.
While triggering warp explosions is a definite plus, the defense stripping ability of Reave should largely suffice for my Soldier's purposes. Although I really do wish that secret biotic squaddie had pull in place of slam unless the power has gotten a considerably longer duration or greater versatility than it had in ME2. Barrier also seems like it might be a nice fit for secret biotic squaddie since that would contrast well with Liara as the more powerful biotic and secret biotic squaddie acting as the tougher biotic (like Wrex or Jacob).
I really like Secret Tech Squaddie's power set. In fact I was hoping that the tech secret squaddie might have Overload and Incinerate since those powers can largely replicate the defense stripping of a true Sentinel aside from the weakness against Barriers. Decoy also sounds pretty handy.

Thanks. I think I was getting shepard sentinel confused with Kaidan sentinel since shepard is getting grenades now.

I hope they have everything from the start, some of the squaddies in ME2 weren't very useful to me until I unlocked their bonus power namely Tali and Samara.

I get the impression that many of the beneftis of Overpower and Amplification were folded into the passive abilities of the class. While I understand the complaints about the Cluster grenade/biotic grenade as not being appropriately thematic, we certainly can't make a judement call about the power of the adept (or any class) until we see them in action.
Well since the complaints about biotic grenade are entirely thematic, seeing it in play wont really have an effect. Giving the soldier a biotic power and slapping a term like combat pull or something on it would suck on the soldier no matter how powerful it was in play.

That's a good point, I never even consider a biotic bonus power for a Soldier, Engineer or Infiltrator. Although I did tend to use Warp ammo despite the game's description of it as a biotic ability since I could justify that to myself on the grounds that it was an ammo power.
I suppose the reasoning behind the biotic grenade is very similar to the reasoning behind warp ammo; but I really don't think either of them work very well as biotic powers.

Especially for people like you who are hot key deprived. Warp, singualrity covers the basic combo.(sure throw would ocme in handy here and there but not enough to puase the game all the time) then stasis for your defense breaker. Warp ammo is a turn on power so it rocks for the 3 key team xbox types since you just pause wheel at the beginning of the mission.
For the PC players or those who are fine pause wheeling all the time the adpets powers are a bit broader but not getting stasis as a core power is just a bad idea IMO.
Damn the quoting got butchered there.

Here is the description for Decoy along with Defense Matrix (I covered Decoy's evolution ranks quite a few pages back, btw):Boost32 wrote...
what Decoy and Defense matrix do?
Decoy: Creates a decoy that will attract enemy fire.
Defense Matrix: Multi-layered armor that reduces all damage taken but increases encumbrance, slowing down power usage. You can purge this armor to give a boost to your shields, but this overloads powers for a short time.

You might be able to blame me for that, I made a thread a long ways back asking for Liara to have Warp. Her old powerset in the E3 build was, Singularity, Stasis, Throw and Lift Orb (which is now the Sentinel's Lift Grenade) and I complained since she had no direct damage attack and 4 crowd control abilities which I thought made her too one note and thus lacked the versatility needed by people playing as non biotic classes.
Personally I'm thrilled by her powerset; but I don't play as an Adept. Honestly though I don't see any way around her being able to mimic all the Adept's abilities since she's the only biotic in the game other than the DLC character she really does have to cover all the bases for a biotic. If she didn't have a such a versatile set of abilities then anyone not playing an Adept would be getting screwed.
If it makes you feel any better Ashley is speced out to maximize weapon DPS just like my Soldier and as a result she's utterly useless to me. Liara may be very similar to your Adept; but your Adept can also get a lot of use out of her ability to set up and detonate warp combos. In contrast my Soldier gets absolutely nothing out of Ashley. So I ask you what's worse, a useful character who steps on the toes of your class or a useless character who steps on the toes of your class?

Just noticed this. Since it prevents powers from being used after you purge it, does this mean that when it's first activated we can still cast powers right away?
