I think you're just a little biased here. You dislike the omni-blade (or think it's mediocre) and therefore think that Bioware is harping too much over it. I like the omni-blade and I feel that Bioware is doing just fine. If anything, I understand why Bioware is marketing it. It is pretty neat to slice and dice your enemies rather than using that ****-hit in ME2. ;p

I really like it, especially with it being different for each class. That's fine that you don't enjoy it, but it would probably be more productive if you suggest something you'd want instead or ways to improve it. Thread's like these don't really help and I don't think they're going to take out the idea this late in development.

Seriously though, it's not just the omni blade. I stopped counting how many times they were talking about how you can shoot the pilot of the mech and run around in it. But it's marketing. This is what we have now, last year it was the overuse of the phrases -"emotionally engaging" and "dark second act". We'll live.

Looking just at ME3's marketing, the entire game consists of Male Shepard, Liara and Garrus running around the same part of Sur'kesh whacking people with omni-blades.
I've seen that blasted level so many times I'm dreading actually having to play through it when the game comes out- and I don't think I'll ever be able to actually put Garrus and Liara on my team.

The Omni blade has become the equivalent of the "Think like a General, Fight like a spartan" PR line for DA2
I'm not repulsed by it....but it's a "meh" thing for me. Still...I understand
