Please. There's a thread right below this one showcasing the improved class evolutions in ME3 - there's a hell of lot more to the game than the omni-blade. Just some people don't want to look, because it's much easier to ignore and make endless threads about how they're not showing anything of the RPG elements and how much they hate this and that.

Or all they see is pew pew pew in tight corridors with the illusion of vast landscapes.

They're showing the omni tool a lot because of the gameplay changes they're making in ME3. In ME2, you would pick a spot and stay there for most of the fight 90% of the time(not counting vanguard of course), which is something they obviously want to change for ME3. They want you to move around the battlefield more often. They added cover to cover movements, added rolling, gave you unlimited sprint, and added shield carrying enemies that you have to flank. And, of course, they gave you the heavy melee to encourage you to move up to get up close and personal with the enemies. They clearly want you to be more mobile during fights. It seems like they're going for a mix of Gears's cover mechanic and Halo's more mobile gameplay.

they could show off the weapon customization and its effects.....the newly revealed Armor customization for squaddies....the power trees and their effects. But nope MORE AWESOME BUT......I mean MORE OMNIBLADE!

Where were you in the last 2 months?

lol, telling you they are there and showing a coupole of still shots is not showcasing them

Still shots? did you not see the ComicCon, GamesCom and PAX videos or something? are you blind? they've shown us the telent trees and how you can evolve your abilitys, hell here's an entire thread discussing it.

So the marketing sucks... nothing new there for Bioware.

But w.e, ignore the recent flood of news concerning the evolution of powers, level 60 caps, and armor customization for squadmates and complaing about the MARKETING for ME3.

After all, it's the marketing that counts in the end, right?

course not, but can you blame me for wantig more focus on the non awesome-button stuff?

Seriously guys! Do you have to plaster that stupid thing everywhere and shove it down our throats all the time. Especially when half the fans things it's friggin' stupid in the first place. The way you've been beating it I'm surprised it hasn't spurted forth some link of omni-goo from the tip.

Seriously... give it a rest. It wasn't that cool from the start, and it's just becoming more and more tragically uncool the more it gets waved around. It just smells of trying too hard to be "badass and awesumz!!1" to the point where it's just not. At all.

I'd have considered getting the new Femshep T-shirt if it didn't have her with that retarded thing on it. <_<

Um, folks are gettin' in a tizzy over an orange, glowy sorta holographic but not really sword thingy? You're joking, right? Please tell me you're joking. Why get upset about that?

There are far more important things to be pressed about, like... why isn't Big Ben (Nigel Fishnchips) a squadmate? I DEMAND HE BE MADE A SQUADMATE! If you don't, I'll boycott ME3 here in Texas. I WILL! Everyone should know by now not to mess with Texas, and this includes its rather large population of somewhat middle-aged Briton female gamers. We're an unruly lot, to be sure.

I'm kiddin', btw. About the boycotting, I mean. Not the rest; definitely not the rest. Image IPB

Of course not but you have to admit that people are overreacting to Bioware's MARKETING. Come on... we know better.

Have you forgotten the god awful "This is the new ****" trailers?

Also why preach to the choir? They've already confirmed all these RPG features and we still **** because we don't see them in a shiny trailer. Do we really need them to toss out a nice little trailer to assure ourselves?

Look at the recent Michael Gamble interview and the gameplay demos. They all take time to show the RPG elements and confirm plenty of features that Bioware is using to create a richer RPG experience.

That their problem for looking in the wrong place. Mass Effect has shooting. It always had shooting. It's not going to not have shooting. If all you ever bother to pay attention to is the aspect you like least, that's your fault.

It's impossible for BioWare to make fans happy. People love to complain. You guys complain when they show too much, then you complain when they don't show enough.

Same thing here, the omni-blade is the only new "tech" thing that we've seen.... so you guys complain that it's the only new feature in ME3 so we should be worried. But if BioWare makes other cool gadgets and shows them, you guys complain that it doesn't feel like a Mass Effect game anymore.

You can never win with fans.

To be fair, we see about 5-10 seconds of the weapons bench and 5-10 seconds of the Ability Tree's, then back to shooting, rolling and omni-blading for the next 10 minutes.

I don't blame them for only showing this though- It's a story-driven game and they want to avoid spoilers, which unfortunately means we have to watch Shepard shooting and stabbing Cerberus on Sur'Kesh with Liara and Garrus until the Reapers die of Boredom.

Because, honestly,  10 seconds is about all you need to show those things.

Even in the first Mass Effect - and most RPGs in general - leveling up is never so complex a process that it takes more than a few seconds.

But how many weapon mods and upgraded abilities do we actually see in action? Most of the demo's just had Soldier Shep hiting things with omni-blades and an assault rifle- with the occasional Biotic ability from Liara.

If they show's him adding an acid-based mod to his weapon and we then saw him melting enemies, or upgrading Liara's singularity and then watching enemies fly then that would be great. Just 5 seconds seeing a screen that is basically ME2's but with 2 more abilities shows us nothing.

BioWare really wants ME3 to be popular. Of course their gonna show shooting. They want all the Gears of War, Call of Duty, Halo.. etc fans to come give this game a try. They're gonna aim for "badass epic action" in their trailers and demos because they want more people to try this game.

CoD fans might actually watch ME3 gameplay and say "Hey, that game look epic" and give it a shot. Believe me... if we had a full demo of squad interaction and RPG elements, people who don't know the series woundn't even give ME3 a second look.

Shooter fans would get bored so fast watching RPG elements, squad interation, weapon/armor upgrades and if you've never played the game before.. it just makes it look complicated and people would lose interest.

They did? They showed how modifications directly affect combat through in gameplay combat itself? I missed it. Is there a link where I can check it out? It'd be neat to see.

It's just some good ol' Bioware/EA marketing.

Plasma Blades! A rideable mech! Slightly bigger corridors! Rolling!! Earth! Romances with literally everyone and everything! Tali's face! Are you prepared for ME3? I think not, ****esssss. I'm David Silverman, reminding you *puts fingers on wrist* to keep your fingers, on the pulse. We out!
