The BSN isn't even 10% of the ME fanbase.

Not even 1%.....millions bought the game and we have here what? A few hundred active at any one point?

True but the few hundred are probably the biggest fans.. and the biggest fans seem to disagree with you and actualy like the Omni-Blade. Also, according to the poll so far, the majority of players don't mind the Omni-Blade. You can't use "Oh well its only 1%" as an excuse because I like the Omni-Blade and I can tell you, we Omni-Blade likers don't have secret underground meetings and decide we're all gonna come on BSN. You can't prove that out of the other 99%, the majority dislikes it. And I can't prove otherwise either but I do think its a safe bet to say that if the majority of people on here don't mind it.. the majority of the other 99% will have the same opinion.

You got me wrong.....I approve of the omni-blade....I voted no and if you read my reply to chris earlier you'd see that too. I'm all for the omni-blade. I am not trying to have an argument here.

I know that- I just thought it would be a fun poll.

Why would you link a poll with 26 votes(At the moment) Sigh

Becuase I made it for this thread?

aridor1570 wrote...

It's even funnier since more people voted No.

I'm not trying to prove a point- I just read those two comments and thought It would be fun to make a poll asking if it was friggin' stupid (in the words the OP).

Wow, this site is groungy tonight

Missed the point, idiot

Warping gameplay so this gimick works at the expense of the rest of the game is a classic case of developer stupidity.

Yay... lets make an Omni-toy for folks to go and stab people but screw ranged play to make it work. That totally makes sense in a gun game.

"Oh but... but it allows you to make Stealth Kills on Stealth Missions"
So would a silenced gun, they can build mini-nuke launchers, energy weapons and Thanix cannons but lost the ability to make silent guns ?

There was a point?

See, missed it again.

I can give the omni-blade this, though.

It's better than the elbow attacks in ME2.

Any legitimate poll only needs a certain number of opinions to render a statistical poll within 3% points of accuracy. The number here isn't quite enough for that, but you can isolate a trend at minimum.

Why doesn't BioWare conduct a survey?

yeah personally I think the omni blade is kinda cheesy and a little too hyped up. but seriously who gives a ****? The only reason its so well known is bc it belongs to the soldier (which imo is retarted anyways) and its one of the most widely used classes as well as the default for cannon shep. use a engineer if its not ur thing.

Marketing sucks. "Fight for the lost" anyone?

I spent about 20% of my time fighting for the lost in ME2, spent the rest of it helping a bunch of so-called bad-asses deal with emotional baggage just so I could get the best ending.

The final product was so different to what I had envisioned that I felt like I'd bought a different game.

What I want to know is how a holographic blade is going to stop Reapers from tearing up the galaxy - I guess I won't be finding out though, what with the fact I'll be finishing the Cerberus story arc instead...

Deal. I have no problem with that. But I don't want my Shepard to have it anywhere on him. I don't like it. I won't use it. I don't want to possess it.

Uh huh, the problem is the game getting balanced around the Omni-blade so that you HAVE to use it.

Wether it being some sort of silent take down gimick or AI 'melee' enemies that force you to use it.

I.E Scripted Shadow Broker Boss fight or folks armed with bullet proof shields that walk up to you. Naturally placed in tight corridors and rooms for added frustration.

and yes I have to agree with you....its kinda lame,  the series emphasized that enough since the vs. not to mention the whole "aww yeah well you see this is definatly the BEST time to jump into the series even tho you missed the last two games and whatever else the franchise had to offer."   but either way I think bioware should pull through on ME3

The guys in bullet proof shields can be defeated with powers. And if memory serves, you don't even really use the melee attack on Shadow Broker - you press B and the cutscene takes over.

There's nothing to suggest you HAVE to use  the Omni-Blade.

You can even use pistol whips and rifle butts as melee attacks instead.

While I agree with what you're saying there, just as a warning--be careful using that a lot. Use it a few times, and people will clamor for it. But once you guys start using it a lot, in all your videos and in all the demos, it loses its 'edge' (no pun intended.'

I mean that for more than just the omni-blade. Tease, but don't release.:police:

Seriously guys! Do you have to plaster that stupid thing everywhere and shove it down our throats all the time. Especially when half the fans things it's friggin' stupid in the first place. The way you've been beating it I'm surprised it hasn't spurted forth some link of omni-goo from the tip.

Seriously... give it a rest. It wasn't that cool from the start, and it's just becoming more and more tragically uncool the more it gets waved around. It just smells of trying too hard to be "badass and awesumz!!1" to the point where it's just not. At all.

I'd have considered getting the new Femshep T-shirt if it didn't have her with that retarded thing on it. <_<
