Seriously guys! Do you have to plaster that stupid thing everywhere and shove it down our throats all the time. Especially when half the fans things it's friggin' stupid in the first place. The way you've been beating it I'm surprised it hasn't spurted forth some link of omni-goo from the tip.
Seriously... give it a rest. It wasn't that cool from the start, and it's just becoming more and more tragically uncool the more it gets waved around. It just smells of trying too hard to be "badass and awesumz!!1" to the point where it's just not. At all.
I'd have considered getting the new Femshep T-shirt if it didn't have her with that retarded thing on it. <_<

And it looks rather stupid in the hands of an excited group of nerds waggling it...
It's not worth getting angry about it, but definetely facepalm worthy lol.

Honestly though, I would like to know how it works within the context of the universe. Still, u mad. Stop being so close minded, etc.

Even more when not everyone will use it. Like us Adepts.
They should have gone with double wielding to balance it out.

Dual-wielding guns? Stop turning ME into a Halo/COD clone! Dual-wielding guns is soo fake and shouldn't have a place in Mass Effect!

The omni-blade actually brings a massive new dimension to gameplay. It makes stealthy approaches an actual viable tactic now, whereas in the prior games your only option was to start a firefight right away.

It certainly adds a new option of gameplay style to those who like it, so I certainly approve of it for that (even though it's not something I'll be using myself).
Though perhaps we can see why ME3 was delayed until next year, partly anyway... as it stands the omni blade is buggy about 50% of the time based on all the pax and gamescon footage I've watched. If the guy tries to use it vs a moving enemy, Shepard stabs at empty air with the enemy either off to his side (or behind him in 1 case) and the enemy still falls over and dies. I saw this happen constantly, was annoying actually to see.
The other big problem with it curently is the camera, as when you activate it the camera shifts but often ends up looking in the completely wrong direction from the target you are stabbing.
Also, if they used it against an enemy that was crouched behind cover, the blade would stab into empty air right over the enemy's head (clearly not making contact), but the enemy still falls over dead... looked messed up.
The only time I've ever seen the omni blade "look right" was when used against an enemy that was standing still directly infront of the character.
Anyhow they have many months before release and I have no doubt these issues will be resolved by then... and if not, then still no problem for me since I still won't use it hehe.

Adepts don't have the omni blade anyway.
And if you think the omni-blade crying is bad, don't even imagine the outcry if Shepard started dual-weilding.

Oh yes, it would be a total shock and RETCON! if a badass marine started to dual wield weapons to maximize his already badass aim and skill.
Everyone here except for a select few know what ME needs. Everyone else pretends that they care/know.

Not a retcon, but damn silly. Dual wielding is for John Woo movies, not Mass Effect.

It does. That's why Max Payne looks so badass in slow motion, because he can dual wield.sevach wrote...

Oh yes, not like people do that in real life.
Dual wield I mean. Not jumping off walls like frigging Spider-Man.

In real life - no, people don't dual wield very often. In a gunfight, you typically want accuracy above all else. It's much better to hold one gun with two hands than two guns with two hand.

It's ****ing Shepard! And a damn video game. seriously, get over yourself. We can shoot blue blobs of death out of our arms, dei and come back, save the galaxy twice in less then a year but not pick up one gun in each hand and go crazy?
Unbelivable.....

Hey, you're the one who brought 'real life' into it. I wasn't even gonna go down that road until you mentioned it.
