Somebody needs a banny wanny, but the mods tend to stick to the left side of things...

I likely will get banned. And I accept it, for the chance to denounce such a retarded and delusional thread.  People can take their praying, their spreading of religous ideals, and shove it up their ass.

I don't think it should be praying but there should be a moment of doubt (crisis of faith - I mean your being attacked by essentially gods) and a moment of clarity.

if its optional i dont see the harm.

athiests, especially on the internet are probably the most annoying an intolerant people on the earth. they tend to push their beliefs on people harder than any religious person ive ever met. its kinda disgusting.

Actually no, that would be straight gamers who are threatened by the very existence of s/s romance in any game they play.

Yes, because yours are unjustified and unreasonable. And Athiesm is not a "sort of belief", it is just plain old human reasoning - just with the lack of superstitious wish-thinking. Why do think cultists think their unjustified beliefs are free from scorn, unlike others? You better get used to it.
:innocent:

Mine? Where did I say that I was a deist?

Atheism is essentially a religion (I'll get flamed for this, but whatever). There is no proof for the existance or lack thereof of a deity, deal with it. Blind faith to the existance or lack thereof, is "just as bad". Pushing around someone for their beliefs is bad regardless of what you believe in. In fact, if you think that it's okay, because you are more reasonable, that's even worse. Blindly following pricks who tell you what to do and what to think? Believe me, you would be surprised how many of those exist in both sides.

Yes, atheists espousing their nonbelief are the most annoying and intolerant people on Earth, and kinda disgusting to boot.
Look no further for evidence than the OP. A disgrunted atheist, wanting an optional dialogue of Shepard saying "There is no God." and the ability to initiate a cutscene of him reading Origin and high-fiving a chimp.

Ok, I'll bite.
What happened to the reasonable Phaedon I thought I knew? Calling atheism a religion is like saying bald is a hair colour. Or not collecting stamps is a hobby.

Really, I don't give a s*** about prayer. If there is a dialogue option, just DON'T F****** TAKE IT.

Anyway this thread probably needs a lock. There's already enough rage on these forums without a giant debate on religion.

and bald is a hair color, bare foot is a shoe type, and vegetable is a type of meat.

Atheism is a belief, but it is not a religion (for example, I believe that there is alien life in the universe but I don't worship aliens, don't follow some 'alien dogma', etc.).

Also, I hope you don't take the ****s that posted in this thread as representative of all atheists everywhere. That person is just being a dick about it (and quite frankly, it's annoying).

yes, atheists are the reason why the world is in the disgusting state it's in and are the source of all anguish all day errday....<_<

honestly, if an atheist, bordering on antitheist, is the worst you have faced, I'm jelly of your innocence to the world at large.

I think what's more accurate is that people who force feed their beliefs on others are annoying and shouldn't do so...

I usually agree with your posts, but definitely not with this one. First, don't judge the entire group of people based on some of them.
Second, you should see harm. BioWare can't possibly make a pray for every religion (they could, but hardly)
and there is the problem. I am an atheist and personally I wouldn't mind the option at all,but you can be sure that if they only put prayers in certain religions, members of unrepresented religions will protest. So it would be a smart idea to just keep it out of the game.

I object to even the goddamn option for the simple fact its not only going to cause this mess but one later when it actually gets included.
"Religion X was not included... your a clear supporter of Religion Z"
"Why is Religion X the Paragon option and Religion Y the Renegade"
"Why is it Renegade to say you dont believe in god ?"

Although, I find it somewhat interesting that any religious person would want their religion showcased in a game which contains the sinful act of same sex relationships.

Yeah... I totally want to see the scene where Female Shepard goes up to Ashley before the final fight, talks religion, prays and then bones her brains out...

If prayer is added to ME3, im sure Bioware would do it in a way that would make it extremely vague.

Eh, I suppose you are right. I consider religion to be "faith" towards a concept. I don't want to cause controversy.

Perhaps you shouldn't judge nonreligious people based on what you read on the internet.

Here is my Shepards prayer:

Dear god, since I know you aren't real, I can wish for what I want, and expect my chances to be nill.

1. I want equality...HAHAHAHAHHAAH..just kidding

2. I want war to end..Pffffffft. Ok, I know, can't happen.

3. I want all races to look upon each other with respect.

God: tough sh*t, I like genocide. Pleases me.

4. Ok, can I just kill people in your name?

God: you bet! Nothing would make me happier. :)

I apologise in advance of posting for not reading through all 11 pages of this thread.

But I must say having some sort of optional dialogue where Shepard finds him/herself in a hopeless/tough situation, where he/she can say a line such as "I hope to god we make it through this" or "Let's hope the cavalry come in time" and so on, is ambiguous enough to work.

Just like not all atheists are built the same, neither are religious people or people who just believe. :innocent:

I maybe Catholic, it doesn't mean I don't have a brain to understand that the Pope is just a man. B)

Of course. I have multiple close atheist friends. The reason I am calling that specific person out on it is because they are extreme. I would do that to someone regardless of belief.
