No, stop saying that. Check out The Pwener's linked thread. That went on for around twenty pages, and only got locked because it got too far. We're not too far yet. But the "inb4lock" posts aren't helping.

Actually, a prayer could make for an interesting cinematic moment - say, just before Shepard and his army take off to the Local Cluster for the final battle. He could be sitting alone in his cabin, reflecting on the battle ahead, then lowers his head for a "final prayer" - hoping to God that he, his comrades, and his forces can take down the Reapers before they destroy everything.

It wouldn't need to be overtly religious, even - just a deep breath before the plunge, so to speak. It might make for a nice bit of drama, you never know.

If Shepard can be a Conservative Jew, I want an N7 kippa to go along with the N7 hoodie.

I think it would be interesting in ME3, if your Shepard would be allowed to pray.  Now i only think this should be allowed if you are playing a Shepard that has been imported from ME1.  Also your shepard would have had to told Ashley that s/he believed in a God, when you discussed religion with her in ME1.

Bioware is already adding controversial things like same-sex romance, so why not add some religious stuff?

As long as every religion known to humankind can be included, why not. Personally I am agnostic/atheist, so I could care less about belief systems.

Seeing as how Zeus is a sky god, he's probably with the Reapers. You need to pray to Hades or...or...their brother. Can't remember his name off the top of my head.

Oh... actually I want to pray to Kratos then, he kicked Zeus' ass anyway.

I think it could work. Just keep it vague, and include plenty of opt outs-

For instance:

*Shepard is sitting alone. Is approached by Vega*

Vega: What are you up to sir?
Shepard: LEFT OPTION: Just taking some time to pray. RIGHT OPTION: Just taking some time to think.
Vega: LEFT RESPONSE: Didn't peg you for a religious man sir. RIGHT RESPONSE: Yeah? Good time to take stock of things I guess.
Shepard: LEFT CONVERSATION: I'm going up against machines that can crack planets in half. I need all the help I can get. RIGHT CONVERSATION: Only way we're getting through this is if we have our heads clear.

Anyway, that's just my view of it. Nice and ambiguous.

Trying to remember my Greek course...was Kratos his son? Or his dad. Cause Zeus totally destroyed his dad. or is Kratos one of the few kids that Zeus didn't eat, lol. or was that Zeus' father that ate his babies? Shoot, I'm all confused now. You should go with Dionysus. God of the vine, man!

That sounds good. He wouldn't need to invoke a name during the prayer, or even say anything at all.

It'd integrate with his character nicely, actually - he did (or could, if you picked the option) say to Ashley that you'll never find an atheist in a fox hole - and I'd say where Shepard's at in that situation is pretty much a fox hole.

Anyway, the scene immediately after would likely feature Shepard getting it on with his LI - so everything balances out nicely, no? B)

I'm sure they would. However they don't have a license to preach here, so they can get lost.

Though apparently The Maker snuck itself into ME1 somehow hehe.. that brief reference at the start of the game always baffled me.

Kratos is the protagonist of God of War.

I guess Ares would be fitting though, being the actual God of War.

Yeah the entire galaxy is under attack by ancient machines, lets waste our time praying to some fantasy figure. What a great idea!

I had this fancy-shmancy paper with the basic stuff, from Zeus' father down to the Euminides. Unfortunately I can't access my school network, they're doing maintenance.

Ashley williams would have to disagree. She believes in god. and apperently so does my shepard since he gave the line "You know the phrase: there's no atheist in a fox hole. I've been a lot of foxholes."

Indeed. Unfortunate oversights by the writers. There's no religion in Mass Effect.
