I think it could work. Just keep it vague, and include plenty of opt outs-
For instance:
*Shepard is sitting alone. Is approached by Vega*
Vega: What are you up to sir?
Shepard: LEFT OPTION: Just taking some time to pray. RIGHT OPTION: Just taking some time to think.
Vega: LEFT RESPONSE: Didn't peg you for a religious man sir. RIGHT RESPONSE: Yeah? Good time to take stock of things I guess.
Shepard: LEFT CONVERSATION: I'm going up against machines that can crack planets in half. I need all the help I can get. RIGHT CONVERSATION: Only way we're getting through this is if we have our heads clear.
Anyway, that's just my view of it. Nice and ambiguous.
That sounds good. He wouldn't need to invoke a name during the prayer, or even say anything at all.
It'd integrate with his character nicely, actually - he did (or could, if you picked the option) say to Ashley that you'll never find an atheist in a fox hole - and I'd say where Shepard's at in that situation is pretty much a fox hole.
Anyway, the scene immediately after would likely feature Shepard getting it on with his LI - so everything balances out nicely, no?
