One of the best compliments I can give to Hale and her work on ME is that I (a male gamer) started playing the series as a traditional Maleshep character and after multiple playthroughs over two games, I will be playing my first run on ME3 with FemShep. It is now my preferred character.

The results of this 'recording session' are the only thing I'm looking forward to in ME3 right now.  ^_^

<3 I've loved Jen's work for a very long time so it's wonderful that she's finally getting all these honors. She's definitely one of my favorite VAs and my ears have the strange ability to pick up her voice in almost any role she plays. Deionarra and Fall-From-Grace are probably my favorite roles from her, but just about anything she does is wonderful. ^_^ She even actually made me like halflings because of her voicing Mazzy!

Imagine my surprise when I started playing Lionheart only to find out that the spirit I chose to be my companion was voiced by Jen! Such a fond memory. A lot of people didn't care for that game but I think it was quite enjoyable even if it was Black Isle's swan song.

BW chose very wisely to have her voice FemShep. I can't watch the interview now cause I'm currently at work, but it's something I look forward to checking out later today.

Huge fan of the Spiderman animated series and remember the secret war-esque episodes she was referring to working with David Hayter as Captain America. Its funny though I didn't know their names but when I played MGS I recognized their voices and referred to Snake and Naomi as Cap and Black Cat respectively. Very talented indeed.

Thanks for that one, missed it. Hehe, I loved her reaction when the interviewer said he didn't play as femshep.

I've played both characters and, thanks to Jeniffer Hale's performance, to me FemShep is Shepard. ;)

Here's another interview from PAX.  It's kind of stupid, but it's Jennifer Hale and she does a couple of funny femShep lines.

I got the chance to meet Jennifer Hale at PAX! She was extremely gracious and charming. Was completely surreal to hear her talk in person after listening to her voice for hours on end in my ME playthroughs. Can't wait to hear her new work in ME3!

I know what you mean, anytime I hear her in an interview I can close my eyes and to me it's Shepard talking.. except it's so eerie to hear "Shepard" talking so casually hehe.

I once stumbled accidentally into Brandon Keener (Garrus) when I was visiting the United States last year with a friend who invited me to tag along - I literally passed him by as he was speaking with two people (friends or family I assumed)... but there was no mistaking it was him (didn't recognize his face initially since I'd only seen a photo of him once in an old interview), once he opened his mouth to talk I nearly squeed with glee... his natural day-to-day voice is practically Garrus', there's almost no difference at all (they add a teeny bit of reverb to his voice in game, but that's about it... otherwise it's just his natural speaking voice).

I was far too shy to say hello, besides I didn't want to interrupt his conversation... that and I was way too excited to have been able to hold a conversation without sounding like a gibbering nut and I would have just embarassed myself.

Suffice it to say, hearing "Garrus" talk about typical day-to-day stuff was wonderfully.... weird. It was the only time I ever visted the US and it was worth it just for that fluke encounter alone.

I never realized how many voice roles Jennifer Hale's had over the years until recently. She was a big part of my childhood and I didn't even know it.

She's only 39... you're making it sound as if she's 70 or something.

Old enough to be my mother, and she's cool and motherly/friend like. Doesn't scream "attractive" to someone my
 age, but k lol.

I read a Kotaku article from when she finally played ME, and I was kind of sad to see a little hate for her performance.  A lot of people thought she was too "rough" or something, but I personally loved it.  And the fact that she did Bastila just shows she can play that way too.  It's a strength for her resume, and as a prospective buyer of other games, knowing Jennifer Hale acted a major part would influence my purchase favorably.

But more to the point, I personally loved how female Shepard was portrayed, including her voice.  Real adult female voices, when they're not raising them expectantly, aren't that high.  It's all the better to find a character interesting without any superficial reasons.  Female Shepard could be a stick figure and I'd enjoy the voice acting.  If the superficial reasons are there too, well duh it's a video game.

In any case, whether it's as a friend, colleague, enemy, or girlfriend, men ultimately respect women who are just themselves.  That classic line of advice for that guy that can't get a girl?  "be yourself?"--it works both ways and not only about the bf/gf thing.
