I'm stoked to see all the crap they're going to shove in it. I hear they might add more into it too. I love the Mass Effect series, it's one of my favorite series so of course I'm going to bust out the bucks to get those exclusives.

Anyone else excited for the collector's edition?

Yes I'm very excited still holding out hope for a Uber Edition with something like the prop replica rifle or something sweet.

Never bought a 'collector's' edition prior to this one, but I'm looking forward to it, especially since it's the finale of the triology.

It will be better than the ME2 CE; that's for sure.

Yeah, just like it will be better than Assassin's Creed: R, Arkham City, Dead island and Skyrim collector editions... oh wait, it won't.

For the "Collector's Edition", I should really get a life size collector head model... That'd be cool.

Well it's shame that the superduper collector's edition fell through but the Collector's edition is pretty cool.

I don't like overkill editions, an extra twenty bucks for an art book and some ingame goodies is enough for me. I wouldn't buy an uber edition with three model kits and a life-sized Shepard statue, even if it existed and I had the 200 bucks to pay for it.

Why would I pay extra money for some skins of models that are already in game? Just not worth it to me. In fact, at the rate that they're going right now I'm beginning to lose interest in ME3 already. It's too far away, it shouldn't have been delayed, or they should have waited until mid 2011 to announce it.

Considering how much you're getting and what you're getting...yeah, it's definitely a cheap CE. I mean $80 for everything...awesome! :)

I agree on the marketing. But honestly. EA just can't do collector's editions right.

I would however pay for some personalized goodies; maybe dogtags based on my Shepard (name, class, background etc) and maybe even box art with my Shepard instead of the default? No doubt this stuff would have to be specially commissioned but for those of us who have had a single playthrough thoughout I'm sure the expense would be worth it.

I'd rather pay for content contributing to the actual gameplay than the fancy physical stuff like figures and artbooks I'll forget in two days.

True. Can't remember the last time I even had a good CE.

You'll have your Shepard in the game. Why do you need more? What difference does it make? The game is what matters, the core of the bundle. Why waste so much money on something that's just... So peripheral to the experience? I understand that I'm in the 'whining' party since I just don't get it, for which I'm sorry, but I really see no point...

I think it's a great value for the content included.

There isn't really any point. I was just thinking about a different approach to the kind of super-duper special editions alot of games seem to get these days. I'm saying that I'd pay for it if they did it, but I understand that it makes no difference to the game itself.

Sorry I wasn't actually critisizing your specific theory, just the general $150< priced editions of modern titles. And yeah I can understand that fans are fans and it's awesome to make the experience come true in some form, but... I guess I'm just stuck in the old ways.

The only thing that contributes to the actual gameplay is the additional Mission and Companion thing.
I'd consider it for the litho, but apart from that it's ME2 collectors edition all over again...

additional rifle that does nothing, checked.
additional armor, checked, just for the squaddies this time.
additional companion, checked.
Robotic Dog was suposed to be included in ME2 but was cut and reused for ME3.

Yes. It was reused. And the useless ingame costumes. And useless rifles which are the only means to fight.

Not swapped for an action figure that just sis on a desk and gets covered in dust.

P.S. There won't be an additional squadmate, I believe it was said that that's old info. At least the bit about him being prothean.

I've never bought a Collector's Edition, but I plan to get this one since it's the last game in my favorite series.
