As of 8/27/11, Laidlaw has confirmed that there is indeed more in store for dragons and that there are "revelations" concerning them coming up in the future. Let's take a look at what we know so far:

1. Dragon Physiology and Development
- Dragonlings are born of a clutch that a High Dragon lays once every 100 years. Few make it to adulthood.
- Female Dragons take about 100 years to grow into adolesence. At adolesence, they grow grow to a modest size and their wings of legend take form.
- They evolve into mature dragons given an unspecified amount of time longer, probably another hundred or so years, growing closer to the monsters of myth they are destined to become.
- At some hundreds of years old, they become fully mature, becoming the massive beasts beasts of legend.
- Male Dragons, called Drakes, live only 100 years and fail to grow to the size and scale of their sisters. They do not even grow wings, only spurs where wings may have grown.

2. Dragon Behavior
- Draconic intelligence is supposedly on par with that of a common dolphin.
- Dragons are highly territorial and aggressive.
- Adolesent female dragons will spend a good amount of time roaming the countryside looking for a lair to nest in. Thus they are the most commonly encountered by man.
- Once a female dragon finds a nesting site, she will make it her home for the rest of her life.
- Every hundred years, a High Dragon will leave her lair to prepare a clutch and feast on all that she can find.
- Male dragons will seek out a female's lair when they mature and when they find one, assuming they are accepted by the female, they will be monogamous for life.
- High Dragons mostly live off of the food Drakes bring back for them.
- Dragons gather in set places to die of old age.

3. The Extinction
- During the Steel Age, Nevarran dragon hunters supposedly wiped out dragons from the face of the earth.
- About 300 years later after thought being hunted to extinction, at 8:99 Blessed, a High Dragon was spotted rampaging outside of the Frostback Mountains of Ferelden. This marks the return of the dragons and the 9th Age of the Chantry calendar would be named in her honor. Thus, the Dragon Age.
- Liadlaw has noted that they are coming back at an unusually fast rate and that there's a reason for that.

4. Dragon Cults
- Dragon cults are a symbiotic relationship with mysterious origins where dragons and humans live together.
- The cultists take care of the High Dragon's young and in exchange, the High Dragon permits the cultists to kill a select number of those young in order to feast on their blood.
- Dragon cults have appeared in places the Tevinter Imperium's Old God and Dragon worshipping practices/beliefs never touched.

5. The Old Gods
- Supposedly the greatest of all dragon-kind, and fabled to be the very creators of all dragons.
- Whether they actually are dragons or simply took the form of them is unknown.
- They were allegedly sealed underground by the Maker after diverting worship from him in ancient Thedas.
- They are supposedly male and to the scale of females, which contradicts what we know of dragon-kind.
- They are strongly connected to the darkspawn. They call out to them and once they are found, they are freed from their prison and rise to the surface as an insane Archdemon. They lead the darkspawn on a campaign of destruction and death, hoping to rid the world of all life.

6. Misc.
- Dragon blood and bones are extremely magical and absorb enchantment like no known metal.
- Ingesting dragon blood grants one the power to harness ones's blood for power, much like blood magic.
- Tainted dragons can harness their own blood for power. Using abilities such as blood magic and the Reaver's blood frenzy.
- Dragons, along with the Old Gods, used to be worshipped by the Tevinter Imperium across much of Thedas.

Dev responses are welcome in case I missed the mark on some of this information.

What do you guys make of this information? Anything I missed? What do you think these "revelations" Laidlaw mentioned might be? What role do you hope dragons will play in the future?
