Does anyone know how to get in touch with a mod or dev? the OP stated he doesn't use femshep anyway so this this thread is pointless and needs to be locked.

Here's a better idea: put on your big person panties and deal with the fact that some people will not tolerate design policy being dictated by misogyny.

If you don't like this discussion, don't visit it. Or does that make too much sense?

Its is pointless because it won’t change a thing. RedFemshep it is, deal with it, I certainly have and I actually think she’s going to be great, why wouldn’t she?

Doesn’t mean people can’t express how they feel about it. Especially in a way that’s not derogatory or insulting to anyone. Which is more than can be said about the overall reaction to the first round’s winner, wouldn’t you agree?

Hes just doing the same thing the people who didn't like blonde-shep did and that's whining plus theres other threads like this there was no reason to make another -_-

And here's another idea stop whining about the fact that they changed her back to a red-head and deal with it. -_-

misogyny! misogyny! misogyny!

Get over it,people wanted number 5 with different color,so BW made a new poll,if you would have kept in the loop you would have caught the new poll, and still lost because people wanted 5 with red hair,it's not like there wasn't a massive whining thread on it.

Sometimes in life, you need to read between the lines and draw your own conclusions.

That the first round of voting was the only one we were informed of is a fact. We had no reason to believe that when #5 won she would later be changed .

That the second round of voting was preceded by copious amounts of misogynistic garbage on these very forums is also a fact.

The original default FemShep was a green-eyed redhead, and the Twitter vote conclusively chose a redhead BEFORE the Facebook voting. Decrying "prejudice" against a worshipped, fetishized hair color (the saying has only ever been that gentlemen prefer blondes regardless of how you tried to spin it to be redheads) which you are lauding with obvious preference, whatever shield of "misogyny" you might hide behind to cloak your motives in righteous fury while you toss out your straw man arguments, is nonsense. Ironic, since a lot of those votes for the redhead came from women such as myself who played with and/or were fond of the default as being iconic in much the same way as Sheploo is regarded by some.

The actual blonde-haters? Were a pathetic minority, far less than those who are prejudiced against dark-skinned people--would you like to make a thread about that, if you're so interested in saving the downtrodden? The reason there were less votes is because most people don't care as much about hair color as the overall look, and the rest either care more about it because of the default than anything else, or simply think it's more eye-catching--orange is, after all, the color most visible to the human eye, so fiery hair works in that capacity.

In other words, sometimes in life when you don't get your way, you need
to just get off your high horse, suck it up, and deal with it. You're telling others to put on their "big person panties"--try taking your own advice.

I don't think misogyny is the right word. There was some real vitriolic hatred directed at blonde haired people, but most of it was coming from females. It also doesn't mean design decisions were dictated by it. Despite fewer people voting in the second poll, the numbers were still extremely conclusive, Bioware correctly identified that red hair was more popular. So although the design decision was dictated by popularity rather than artistic vision, that's not misogyny. This has shown strongly that hair style is more important than colour and physical appearance is important as so many people are passionate about this. It was cruel of Bioware to offer something up to a segment of fans but then take it away. For the record, I prefered the blonde but am not too worried about it.

Wynne, if a darker skinned Shepard won the poll and was treated this way, i would most certainly be just as upset and disappointed.

I probably wouldn't care enough to make a thread, but i'd be angry on the inside.

Oh, also Wynne, i'm not sure you're using the term "strawman argument" correctly.

I have made no effort to purposefully misinterpret anyone elses position... in fact, if anything, i have been the victim of that behaviour.

Sorry, but Shepard 4 never looked very Black to me. The thing is that even on the darkest skin setting, a Shepard does not have the skin color of most Black people. I don't quite know why you can have a Shepard with skin the color of snow but it doesn't go the other way. :?

wow. thast the dumbest thing ive read on these forums so far. sorry to burst yer bubble but most african american ppl arent don cheadle / duany duany black. every shade between light skined and blue black counts, any argument that reads 'not black enuff' should [will be] disregarded as ignorant and stupid

all african american and black in my book

Sorry to burst your bubble, but the majority of the world's black people are not African-American and do not have Colin Powell's skin tone. I take it you have never been to Africa. My whole family has very dark skin, you make it seem like people like that are a rarity.

I suppose Rosa Parks should have just "got over" not being allowed to sit at the front of the bus, too.

And this will probably amaze you, but the reaction to the original poll didn't make international headlines.

Are you seriously comparing yourself with Rosa Parks? Or even remotely comparing a vote for a video game character’s hair color with a civil rights movement? Wtf is wrong you? Lol
