Because apparently people wern't really happy with Blonde Shepard winning.  The media did a lot of articles. So did a lot of independent blogs.  People commented on here and on facebook they only voted because she was the best looking ect ect.

Simply there wasn't universal accord and it was something Bioware noticed and didn't want to leave it being debated forever.  Thats not what the contest was about.

I was quite against a second vote I must say and I even did a thread about it because I felt all this bickering about looks was going to cause more trouble: http://social.biowar...3/index/8114669

However it seems a lot of my fears in that thread have been debunked. The majority of people are really happy and apart from a few people on the fringe it seems I was really wrong on how the community would react.  So im quite happy to be honest.  I like it when im wrong for the right reasons

:)

news reports and gnarly backlash from fans resulted in sort of a re-vote

I like how the people who wanted the blonde shep were rubbing it in everyone else's face and were all like...

Image IPB

...And then the blonde haters were all like "F you", "Blondes are bimbos", "blonde hair is for nazis".

But then when the 2nd vote came around the anti-blonde squad were all like...

Image IPB

And the blonde lovers are all like "It's a conspiracy against blondes", "Boo-hoo, we're blonde. Discrimination is supposed to only effect dark people", "They want to wipe us off the planet", etc.

Really funny. I think Bioware should hold a vote of s/s romances so that it can be removed and all the anti s/s people can be like "deal with it". And then like 2 wesk before launch they announce the s/s is still in and then the pro s/s can be like "deal with it". Hilartity will ensue.

Because people complained so much about how blonde shep one they redid the poll so you could pick if that model was blonde, red, ect. Basically the aniblonde campaign won the poll but she can be changed anyway so no huge deal.

A quick search would yield the desired results to your inquiry.

It's insulting. My girlfriend is blonde and is capable of more complex thoughts than "are my nails okay".

There are plenty of strong, competent leaders that happen to, amazingly, possess female reproductive organs and have blonde hair, such as former Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yulia Tymoshenko.

I am really disappointed that stupid prejudices have influenced BioWare's decision. I'm looking forward to ME3 a little bit less now.

I can tell you why I at least voted for the change because the blonde hair looked bad and the hair style was meh. Shepard was looking rather generic - For me it had nothing to do with "Blondes are dumb" I just did not like the way shepard looked a blonde ... that is all.

blonde = a -2 penalty for intelligence with female characters apparently.

You do know that you can still change her appearance with the CC yes?

And for those who think the anti-blonde fools caused the 2nd vote are deluding themselves.

Can i use the CC to change her appearance in promotional materials and on the case of the limited edition version of the game?

No? Then i don't care. It's disgusting that childish prejudices have influenced this.

WORD! Haha.
The thing is, why have a freakyn vote at all? I don't get it to be honest, it just make people upset.
If they just put the one they liked, no harm would come our way since we didn't know what we could've got. That's the thing that bothers me the most, that I missed a good shep that I really liked. But NO let's all vote and go together hand in hand.

Blah, but I deal wit it I'll make my own also.

But next time BW, please take the decision yourself and let us skip this madness.

MADNESS? THIS IS SHEPARD!!!!!
*sigh*

It's unfortunate that the worst of the fanbase is always the loudest, like the body armour-fundamentalists that want to revert to the ME1 attires.

How dare we want armour!

What will you ****** to then?!

The blonde Shep apparently won because everybody seemed to like the longer hair. Then people had a huge snit that Shep was blonde because that meant she was a "barbie" (their word, not mine).

It was such a big stink that Bioware decided to hold another round to decide hair color.

All I have to say is... Thank the Maker the voting is done.

I've been on vacation so i didn't even know about the second round of voting, but given the ridiculous "she can't be blonde" comments i had read, i figured something like this would happen.

Lame. The model looked better blonde, and the idea that a person's abilities and skills are decided by their hair colour has less credibility than nominative determinism.

It's almost as bad as racism, really, and BioWare just pandered to it. Disappointing.

Thanks for the laugh your a tad overreacting here but hey I voted in both and I'm a red head so I'm now in Smug mode. I bet your a dimbo blond eh ?  Image IPB

^ This Right Here ... If Bioware needs to learn  anything  is  thats leaving things like this up to the fans is not a good idea...espiecally with you have CC . They should have just went the route  they did with  the Defualt Male Shepard just find  a Model and roll with  it. If people don't like then you have CC ... but a lesson learned I hope.

It has nothing to do with masturbation, so i'd thank you to keep your crude insinuations to yourself.

It has everything to do with the iconic approach to squad attires making for a vastly superior aesthetic. I like that Mordin loos like a doctor and not a commando just as much as i like that Samara's outfit makes her look like a warrior monk.

Not all of us use these forums every single day. We have just as much of a right to post about a topic as those of you that do. If repeat topics bother you, maybe you should take a short holiday.

I'm a male, and i have dark hair.

My girlfriend is a blonde though, and i can tell that she's more intelligent than you from the way that she wouldn't call you dumb on the basis of your hair colour.

Do you harbour similar thoughts on those with different skin tones?

I wanted the Black haired Femshep to win in the second poll. But I'm not sour about it, I just custom made a Black haired Femshep in ME1, and now hopefully we can have the long hairstyle in ME3 so I can have her anyway.

Just do as people suggest and Deal With It, I did :D

Forgive me but I see no reason for exposed cleavages, high-heels and skin-tight latex that rides up character's arses and vaginas other then pointless titilating fanservice.

It has everything to do with the iconic approach to squad attires making for a vastly superior aesthetic.

Your opinion.
I find juvenile lore-breaking outfits ridiculous.

I like that Mordin loos like a doctor and not a commando

Mordin need only look a doctor when he's on the Normandy doctoring.
Running around in a fire fight still in your doctor's outfit is just retarted.

just as much as i like that Samara's outfit makes her look like a warrior monk

lolno

I'm not even sure where your pulling this **** from or how its relevent to anything...

Speaking of not relevent this is off topic anyways.

It's unfortunate that you can't look at a woman without being drawn to their vaginal region, Godwood.

When i look at Miranda, i see a strong, independent woman that revels in her position of authority but also cares about her appearance. But at the same time, her outfit gives off an air of vulnerability, which is fitting given her issues.

When i look at Miranda i see that, and not a "piece of ass".

It's a shame that not everybody is as enlightened as i am in regards to equality and perception of women. Your neanderthalic views have no place in present-day society.

And those of us that appreciate interesting visuals should certainly not be punished for your inability to control your eyes.
