Since DA3 is most likely already in production...an idea for a different DA game

I've recently been playing DA2, after like a lot of other people, being initially disappointed and have actually enjoyed it more after a couple of months.  Leaving aside things that people seem to mostly agree on like a dislike of waves, reused areas, etc.,  I started thinking about devices used in both games that I liked.  In short, the origins from the first game and the story structure from the second.

I and my brother both started playing Origins at the same time using different origin stories.  He used a city elf and I used a human noble.  On that first playthrough, the thing that was most interesting to me was how the origin shaped our individual perspectives on the game, i.e. his relationship with Vaughn and mine with Howe and how they differed. I think most people who played the game probably had similar experiences so I won't go into specifics, but it seemed like he was playing a completely different game than I was.  Once I got onto my 2nd, 3rd, and 4th playthroughs it became obvious that that wasn't really the case and that the origin only made the main story differentiate slightly (which I still loved).

DA2 had a shorter story than Origins, but the narrative was framed more tightly.  True, decisions didn't seem to matter as much which was one of the things I hated about the game (still do really) but I did like the political nature of it.  Instead of fighting the ultimate evil that would end the world, it was focussed on characters that weren't in fact evil but were just trying to exist in the world they lived in, make decisions, and hope that it benefitted the world.  This is true of the Quanari, Mages and Templars.

Anyway, all this started me thinking as to whether or not I would like to play a shorter game centered around a certain chain of events whereby my origin set into place a turn of events with significant choices which would allow me to play the game multiple times from a different perspective resulting in my character having a different place in the world.

DA2 has already been made but to use it as an example.  Say the origins would be Mage, Templar, Quanari, Kirkwall noble.  There would be no everyman character like Hawke who could side however he/she wanted to.  Let's say you pick Templar and ultimately you have to side with Meredith, Cullen, or Orsino (with your factions behind you.  Or you could be Quanari with the result being the choice betwen Arashok or Tal-Vashoth.  Mage could go to blood magic, side with the templars, or stay neutral (to me the mage option is what DA2 did).  It wouldn't even have to be those origins.  It could be human, elf, or dwarf.

My dillemna at this point is resources.  I have no idea how they talley those up, but what if you had a 15-20 our game that you could play only had three origins that at least went into two ambiguous story archs making for 45-60 hours total of gameplay?
