Planet Mystery

Now, onto the heart of the matter. While I was searching for planets fit for surveying, I found one (can't recall planet or system) allegedly owned by a Volus billionaire who claimed to receive visions about impending galactic destruction by a mechanized race. The planet's description further mentioned that he continues to search the planet for remanants of structures (there was more to it than that, but its all I remember).
Could this Volus billionaire have discovered a Prothean beacon? What would be the nature of the remains?

I remember being surprised by the foreshadowing in some of the planet descriptions. Looking up at that one planet with the enormous crack in it from its moon was really creepy when you know the story. Gives the Reapers a real terror to 'em. I think there's another one where they make reference to finding sonar readings or whatever of what seemed like a sleeping Reaper fleet, too.
They were hidden amongst the clouds of some tumultuous gas giant, and when someone tried to investigate, they'd disappear whenever they came near, iirc

I agree that it may have something to do with Protheans. Hopefully, it's an easter egg of sorts for something in 3. In LotSB Liara says how the SB believed that the Protheans had other plans other then what was on Illos. It's possible they had a base or whatever on this planet the volus found.

Definitely sounds like that to me. And yeah I remember the one you mean.

Very interesting. Could you, by any chance, provide me with the planet and system name?
Damnit, now I know I HAVE to go planet hunting again...

If you ask me, that Reaper was alive and well.
There's also Junthor.
I found out the planet's name. Its Klencory. The description isn't referring to the Protheans but to an entirely different race "created at the dawn of time to protect organic life against the machine devils."
The planet you were referring to is http://masseffect.wi...ki/Logan]Logan.[/url]

Still, it could be Prothean. This what the blurb says about Klencory:
Klencory is famously claimed by the eccentricvolus billionaire Kumun Shol. He claims that a vision of a higher being told him to seek on Klencory the "lost crypts of beings of light." These entities were supposedly created at the dawn of time to protect organic life from synthetic "machine devils."
The hanar called the Protheans ''the enkindlers''. So these ''beings of light'' could easily be just another name for Protheans. It's not that far fetched. Look at history and how a tribe would call themselves one thing and then another group outside of them would refer to them by another name.
Also ''lost crypts'' reminds me of the pods and the structure on Illos. It was mostly underground where Shepard went, and with all those pods it could easily be taken to be a crypt.
It says these ''beings of light'' were *SUPPOSEDLY* created at the dawn of time. Now the Protheans were in existance well over 50,000 years ago. That may not be the Big Bang, but to any race that's only been around a few thousand years or so it's damn well the begining from their perspective.
In my opinion it all points to the Protheans and an underground base/settlement/colony. Who's to say that Illos was the only planet where Protheans tried to ride out the Reapers' attack in cyrogenic sleep? No one - that's who.

Of course, I do know your interpretation of events is unquestionably the more plausible one.
But one can hope that rationality dominates the ME universe inspite of (psychological) tribulations...

the protheans definitely aren't the beings of light. as far as the protheans having a secret base, virgil says otherwise. ilos, and subsequently the citadel, was the last stand of the prothean race. who were then raped into submission by the reapers and turned into collectors for their efforts. this volus and his planet will be at the crux of ME3, believe me.

as for the earlier mention that batarians are indoctrinated that's utterly ridiculous. the collectors are an indoctrinated species, the heretic geth, you don't see any of them joining mercenary gangs, hanging out in slums and acting like a bunch of douche bags do you?

Recently I was exploring the Hawking Eta Cluster in ME2, if you know there are the "Derelict Reaper" or a "Dead Reaper". In Klendagon, the description of this planet says something about the Great Rift was caused by a Mass Acelerator weapon of a HUGE ship.
In Etamis, the description say something about a bombardment all over the planet about 20 or 40 millions ago by a dreadnought class ship (huge ship), and after that, we have Atahil, it seems the bombardment spread to this planet too. The description of this two planets it seems to show you that long ago some spacefaring race was wiped out of this system by a ship.
This three planets give you the clue about the derelict reaper.. The "derelict dead reaper" was the ship who created the "great rift" with his weapon, hunted and destroyed the spacefaring race habiting the other two worlds. It seems this reaper and the history around Hawking Eta Cluster, could it be about the "reapers coming" about 20 or 40 millions ago. If you read the description of the derelict reaper, it's says that ship had aprox. 37 million yeas old. How I see this? A spacefaring race around 40 million ago fighted the reapers, resisted and tried to win (the derelict reaper is a proof), but they were obliterated. Or maybe they were in a fight with this reaper, after the great rift impact, they managed to destroy that reaper, and with this act, more reapers came and hunted that spacefaring race to the extintion.
It's too late for me.. I'm starting to divagate.. haha!! But you get the point.
