Hi, I just started Act II and am stuck at the spot where one of the Neverwinter King's representatives sends you to the merchant quarter to become a squire (to clear my name of murder). Only problem is, the merchant quarter doesn't show up on the list of fast travel destinations. In fact no district in Neverwinter shows up, and if I leave the city, there is no way back. Anyone experience this bug? I tried googling it, but the only post with responses was in the old NWN2 forums and was deleted.

Is this just after Nevalle had a talk and Sand enters the party? ie. beginning of Act II when PC is confined to Neverwinter city districts?
This might not be a cure-all, but here's some stuff we've figured out 'round these parts:

Thanks for the response, I'll try the commands when I get home. This bug occurs right after the first or second cutscene in Act II. It's the one where the King of Neverwinter talks to Torio and then to his assistant in the Neverwinter Nine (whose name i can't remember) about murder in Ember. They do mention Sand in that conversation. His assistant then goes to the Sunken Flagon to ask that I become a squire to a knight in the merchant district.
Sand doesn't join the party and it is mentioned that I can't leave neverwinter, however the waypoints outside neverwinter are still active. The ones for the docks and merchant district however, aren't available. Also, Sand isn't in his shop either.

opps, sounds like you got the infamous Act I -> Act II tribulations .....
here's what I mean, Lt. Danger's Let's Play <- a picture guide of the thug playthrough, but you'll get the gist. Do you remember if all that stuff played through? About 5/6ths of the way down the page it says, "And Sand joins the party," before even leaving the Flagon.
(ps. the pansy's name is Nevalle ..)
i'm going to take a closer look at that cutscene & convo's, and if you can describe where yours cut off (if it did) we can probly nail it

It looks like, based on the link you gave me, that the conversation between nevalle and the king works, and the conversation between nevalle and my party also works. Then the link says, after Nevalle leaves, that he goes to speak to Sand in cutscene, which is skipped in my game. Then any conversation including Sand after that is skipped.
Also, I don't know if this is useful info or not, but Neeshka is gone from my party due to another bug, but it doesnt seem like she plays an important part in the convo to cause this bug. All in all I don't know how the average person could have played through this game in full without encountering a game ending bug.

Thanks, this fix seemed to get me past that point. I'm now in Port Llast, hopefully that's the last of the bugs for a while.

my advice is (1) make sure you're upgraded to v1.23 (2) install TonyK's AI (3) don't panic as you go through the numerous buttons on Companion Behavior tabs!

I say: thank you for TonyK's AI =), i am upgraded to lastest v. and i'm staying calm^^ but....
These only two NPC still refuse to follow..
So I tried other character as qara, or neeshka, and they follow but for sand and shandra it's still useless.. ( for some reason sand react when i'm asking about protection spells.. but every ''follow mode'' that tonyk add don't make them move :/
I hope someone have an idea^^

I should also said one more thing.. after i've tried the cammands u posted, i was able to select sand and shara, but they were invisible.. so i downloaded their .ROS files and copy them into my saved game only.

Are you using the VoiceChat commands okay? " V " brings them up. there's a follow command in there somewhere. (Right click & hold works too - if you do it on yourself its Broadcast to all companions, if you do it on a companion it affects only that Companion)
There's also a Puppet vs. AI toggle next to the Rest/Options Menu in the low left corner of screen: blue means AI on, red means Puppet. sometimes its half red/half blue ... give follow command when you get it toggled fully blue. Sometimes it takes issuing commands a couple of times in various ways, but i'm sure they'll follow eventually

Still nothing.. i'm beginning to think that my save is corrupted i don't know.. event the blacklake hotpoint does not appear on map and i cannot even reach my birth city it's crashing.... :'(

ah well .. might have to cut yer losses and carefully reinstall. Defrag, clean up temporary files, no rush ^o^
